Forums Closed
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.

So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.

Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.

We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.

There are other changes as well.

Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.

It's time to move on and move forward.

PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.

But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.

So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.

And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.

That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

So far, we are the only ones i know from Passporters on this cruise. Maybe others will come forward, but haven't heard of anyone yet.
I did check out that dine and play and it is only for the 2nd seating.
The countdown is on........

found this info on the disney web site...On the Disney Dream, our original live productions will be performed three times each evening. In order to make certain everyone is accommodated – similar to our assigned dining times – you will be assigned a specific performance. If you are on the first dinner seating time, you'll be assigned either the first performance or third performance of the live show. If you are on the second dinner seating, you'll be assigned to attend either the first or second show performances.

Thankyou for the info!!!! I don't want the 3rd sitting though....I hope we get the first one. Do you know what the show is and if it is appropriate for younger kids? Also, does this happen every night or just once?
Wow, I wonder what time the kids will be getting to bed during the cruise? My 9 yr old isn't bad but my 5 yr old can be terrible if she doesn't get her sleep. I want to see everything and I am not going to get a babysitter so I might be having a pretty grumpy kid at times lol.

back from a work trip, i think there r only 2 dinner seatings but 3 show times so everyone can see. still it seems the pirate show (pirates not in good taste right now) lasts till 1030 when the fireworks begin. it does look like late night for the kids. from what i read there are 3 shows to see

Sorry for the delay. The Aminators supper is suppose to be good from what I have heard.
My son hates all the skulls and stuff from the Pirates too and he is at the age that most of his clothing will have that on. They do need to change it for other reasons too.
The Fireworks would be good and the meet and great of characters.
Did you hear that they have reduced the height requirement for the Aqua Duck although I have heard that there is a 90 min wait at times for it too. Unreal..I am not waiting that long.
I want spring to come. Blowing and snowing bad. Went outside for 5 min and froze and I am not a woosey person for the cold either (but I do love my heated leather seats in my car)

So are you getting ready for the cruise yet????
I didn't realize that I could do the Online checkin now, so I just did that today. Have you done yours??? I guess the boarding was already booked until 11:30 but that gives us plenty of time to get our things ready and to get there. We can always arrive early too, and I will check into that. Exciting.

The kids are getting excited. We are buying our spring clothes and we can pretend it is Spring even though the weather is not cooperating...snow storm to hit Mon and Tues

We are getting ready and we can't wait.

yes we are getting ready! bought some goggles at target and did a little shopping also. i did the online check in a few weeks ago when i reserved the spa treatment and the snorkel trip. we did pick the 1130 boarding spot. we also just got our cruise documents in the mail today so that got everyone excited again. have you checked out the option to pre pay your gratuities? not sure if its better to pre pay or give them $ on board. i did read somewhere about the height at 44'' now if they ride with a parent on the duck

Hi!
Are you bringing your own snorkle gear with you? I would imagine they would disinfect them after each use (I hope). I am taking dd for snorkling lessons next sunday so she gets the feel of it and has a better chance of not being afraid.

We don't get our documents until we arrive at WDW. They would by pass us otherwise. What are contained in the package?????

The gratuties kinda bother me. I hope I remember how much I am suppose to do etc. Do you remember how much we are to leave each person?????

We are battleing the flu and colds here. I do hope it is gone soon. We leave in 2 .5 wks.

So, you have to pay the server$12.00X4 per day? THe assistant server is $9.00x4 per day? etc Or is that for the whole cruise??? That has to be for the whole cruise...correct??? Give me some ideas how I can make this sound better to my hubby.
I just like the idea that Disney sets up nets so that undesirable fishes won't come in. Atleast we can see the land.
Did you see that they changed our dinning times by 15 min earlier? Only on the Dream though at this point.

it will sound better to hubby after he has a few cocktails, at least for me it will. but it is per guest per cruise so 12.00 x 4 per cruise etc. i did not see dinner being earlier but thats fine 830 for the little one could be melt down time, as it is now she will have to eat earlier anyway.

I should have done that darn He wasn't tooo pleased when I told him. He isn't happy with paying 18% gratuity at any resturant so I guess we will see alot of counter service Not that he is a cheap guy or anything, but where I come from, you tip maybe 7-8% so this is alot more than we expected. Minimum wage here is over $10 an hr, and everyone has to get paid it.

Trying to get things ready. I hope I didn't forget anything. We leave here in 11 days for WDW and then the cruise. Dh still has to buy some shorts. We are finally melting here, so that makes it abit easier. Difficult to believe after all this planning it might happen...fingers crossed.
