Forums Closed
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.

So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.

Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.

We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.

There are other changes as well.

Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.

It's time to move on and move forward.

PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.

But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.

So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.

And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.

That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

More updates for Week 2

When I last left you, I had just booked my second week at All Star Music. Not much has been updated since then, but I did make my ADRs for my week in WDW. Ladies and Gentlemen, here are my incredible dining plans for my week at Disney:

Arrival day (Saturday): lunch at Raglan Road - my first time eating there (I spent six weeks in Ireland this year, so it felt appropriate to visit the Irish pub)

Sunday: lunch at Le Cellier - this is a MUST for every trip I have to Disney.

Monday: lunch at Chefs de France - first time eating here as well (during my six week trip to Ireland, I did spend one weekend in Paris, so I thought I'd keep the nostalgia going)

Tuesday: Spirir of Aloha luau dinner - this is something I regretted missing on my last trip. I've done it before and absolutely loved it

Wednesday: breakfast at the Grand Floridian Cafe - another first for me. I love the atmosphere at the GF, so I thought it would be a great way to start off a Magic Kingdom morning

Thursday: lunch at Biergarten - yet another first for me

Friday: dinner at Coral Reef - this is a return visit for me, but I LOVE this place - both for food and atmosphere.

Can you tell I REALLY like Epcot?

I can make Palo/shore excursion ressies tomorrow!!!!!

Update: Pre-trippie for Week 2!!!

So, now that I am 35 days away from my trip (), I thought I would update my PTR with my Disney plans. I LOVE planning Disney trips - to me, planning is half the fun! I don't always stick to my plans, but it's so much fun to just sit and plan my days out. For this trip, my general plan is to spend the morning in one park, take a break after lunch (which will probably consist of a nap or a dip in the pool), and then spend the evening in another park, followed by EMHs. This is my first on-property stay, so EMHs are a big deal to me! The plan for the week is as follows:

Saturday: Disembark cruise, pick up my rental car from Budget, and head to WDW. I don't have a lot of plans as to which park to go to first or anything - the idea of the day is a "best of Disney day." I plan to hit whatever parks strike my fancy, and only ride my favorites. I'm thinking of it as a teaser for the week. I do have an ADR at Raglan Road (which I'm SUPER excited for!!), and plan to end the day watching Wishes. Although Wishes isn't my favorite of the firework shows, it's become a must to end my first day at Disney watching it - there's just something so magical about watching the fireworks over the castle and knowing you still have a whole week of magic ahead of you!

Sunday: I'll start my day in Animal Kingdom (my goal is to make it to the rope drop ceremony), and then take a quick detour to Epcot for lunch at Le Cellier. After my afternoon break, I'll head to DHS, being sure to catch Fantasmic. After that, it's EMH at the Magic Kingdom! (And yes, that is all 4 parks in one day! Woo hoo!)

Monday: This is the one day that I don't plan to change parks midday. This is my Epcot day. I lovelovelove Epcot, and could probably spend an entire week's vacation just in the World Showcase. LOL. I plan on having lunch at Chefs de France. I do plan, though, to head over to DHS for EMHs.

Tuesday: This is the day I've granted as my "day off." The plan is to relax and just soak up some Disney goodness without all the craziness of the parks. I have a late breakfast booked at Kouzzina, so I can sleep in before going there. I plan to spend the rest of the day relaxing by the pool, and possibly exploring some resorts. I also have the Luau booked at the Poly at 8pm.

Wednesday: I have an early ADR for breakfast at The Grand Floridian Cafe. This is also my way of making sure I can make it to rope drop at the Magic Kingdom (I've never seen the ceremony there before!) I'll spend the morning in the Magic Kingdom, and after my break, I'll spend the afternoon at Animal Kingdom. Animal Kingdom is also having EMHs that night, so I plan to stay for those, and then head to Epcot for Illuminations!

Thursday: I'll spend the morning at Epcot, and then spend the afternoon at DHS. I have an ADR for dinner at Mama Melrose, and plan to stay for Fantasmic. I'm also going to take in a midnight showing of Alice in Wonderland, since that's the night it opens - SO excited!

Friday: I plan to sleep in a bit, and then have another "Best of Disney" day, hitting all my favorites one last time. I have a dinner ADR at Coral Reef, and then I will watch Illuminations and enjoy some EMHs at Epcot.

Saturday: Try not to cry as I head home! LOL

Whew! I seriously cannot wait for this vacation!

Quick update - GREAT news!

If you guys remember, I was "chancing" week 2 - I hadn't gotten the time off officially approved, but didn't want to miss out on the Buy 5 get 2 nights free deal, so I booked it anyways. My second week off was officially approved yesterday, so I am 100% good to go!

In fact, in a month from today, I will be getting ready to board the Disney Magic for the first time! Yippee!!
