The Light at the end of the tunnel to the Caribbean Beat Trip Report Sept 18 to Sept 29 - **Updated 3/31** COMPLETE!! - Page 2 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

I cant believe that we are going to be in Disney in just two weeks I cant wait. It is going to be a little stressful since we our closing the Ice Cream shop on Sept 15th. We are leaving for Disney on Sept 18, we will probably be leaving for the airport between 4:00 to 4:30 am on Tuesday morning. So Sunday Sept 16th we will be packing I have to work until 2:00 on Sunday but that is the last day for 2 & 1/2 weeks. We are also going to take our dog (Zeus) to my friends house. They have generously offer to keep him so that we won' t have to pay the kennel a ton of money to keep him. This way he is with people all the time like he is at home. Sept 17th we have to run up to the grocery store & stock up for my grandma while we are gone. We are taking her Blazer b/c it is the only thing that all of luggage fits in. Believe it or not we have 12 pieces of luggage going. Remember early I said that I love to shop I wasn't kidding.
This is my loving dog: Zeus
Okay so lets eat!! We got the fork & knives so we can pound them on the table. FOOD FOOD FOOD & it's FREE, what more could you ask for !!!! We are doing some new ones & some oldies but oh so goodies. So we had our dining plan out before we added the two extra days. So that meant two more meals for us to plan. My mom is a picky eater but she loves steak so if the place has steak than we are good. My dad doesn't put a whole lot of input in so we let him choose one of the two meals. I gave him the list of restuarants on the DDP. He then told me the ones he thought about & I printed out menus for him from ALLEARS. Orginally our first night we were suppose to go to the HDDR for dinner at 7:30. We did this last year & absolutely love it. Well since it was already booked & paid for for Thurday we decided that we didn't want to change it. My dad now had the decision of the first night.
Well here is what we decided:
Sept 18: Cape May @ 6:30pm. This is a first for us, we have never been over to the Epcot resort area. We are hoping to (you guessed it) shop of course at the Boardwalk & walk around a little.
Sept 19: Chef Mickey's @ 6:20pm. We have never done this for dinner. We always do it for breakfast. I am hoping that we will make it back to MK for Wishes if not we always have another night.
Sept 20: Rain Forest Cafe for lunch at AK (OOP). We have never eaten there so this is my parents treat for us to try for lunch! That night we are at the HDDR @ 7:15 show. We did this last year for the first time & will probably do it every year we LOVED it. We are (OOP) for this because we wanted to be in Category 1.
Sept 21: Whipering Canyon @ 5:40pm. Another first for us & we wanted to stay here. So we that we explore around here. We are also doing the MNSSHP this night so we are going to change in the restroom. We are going as the Mickey Mouse club! Last year we did the full gear costumes, this year we are down sizing!
This was our last year MNSSHP costumes!
Sept 22: Le Cellier @ 7:00pm. This is my mom favorite & we all loved it.
Sept 23: Kona Cafe @ 5:30pm. First time here. My dad would like to stay at the Poly. The first time he ever went he stayed here. So we thought we would check it out!
Sept 24: Planet Hollywood @ 7:30pm. This is one of my favorites. I love the atmosphere. The food was awesome when we went last year. YUMMMMYYYY!!!
Sept 25: 50's Prime time @ 5:00pm My mom always wanted to try this. Last year we had some bus problem getting to the horseback riding & didn't make it in time so we ended going to 50's for lunch. We had a really good time & decided to try dinner here.
Sept 26: Planet Hollywood @ 5:00pm. I told you that we love this place & we are planning a (you guessed it) shopping day!!!!
Sept 27: Hollywood & Vine @ 5:30pm for the Fantasmic package. We have not seen the Fantasmic show & this is one of the restuarant we could agree on. No one likes Italian food except for me so Mama Melrose was out. We didn't want to use two credits for the Brown Derby. So this is where we chose.
Sept 28: Breakfastsaurus @10:00am. We ate there last year & loved it. Since there is not a whole lot of sit down places at AK we decided to do this again.
Sept 29: Chef Mickey's @10:10. This is kinda tradition for the last day. We found out that last year this was a great time b/c most of the breakfast rush is over & it is laid back.
So now that our tummies are going be full to the limit & we will probably have to add a notch to our belts. We will have hopeful have had wonderful food. They really do treat you like royalty at WDW.
This is my grandma that we work with. She will be 82 in Jan.
UP NEXT: The Schedule that my dad says he can't understand!! Let's see what you think about our schedule!
Your dining choices sound great. H&V isn't bad, lots of choices in the buffet, all were very good. They have some sort of sweet potato dish that was excellent. The dessert choices were just as varied and all (yes, I tried them all!) were soooo yummy! We did that for the Fantasmic Package and it's totally worth it.
Looking forward to seeing your schedule....

I it last year. We had a bad day last year kinda felt like the Griswald's so this made the day feel so much better! We even got to see some of Wishes on the boat on the way back to MK.

I will so to do a review when we get back of all of our food!
BTW we got a call from WDW about three weeks ago. It actually was the Contemporary. They were telling us we have two Chef Mickey's schedule & if we didn't call back by 9:00 that they were going to cancel one of them. Yes we do have two Chef Mickey's one is for breakfast & the other for dinner at different days. When we called back they didn't understand why anybody would call. I don't know if it was really crazy there or someone doesn't know what they are doing! That was a little odd. So we called & confirmed all of our ADR's last week. Everything was good! The lady that confirm our ADR's was born 20 minutes away from where we live. She is coming back in October for a visit. See it really is a Small World after All!
I can't see your photos, but your ADRs look great!! Weird phone call about your Chef Mickey ADRs....glad you were able to get that squared away!! Won't be long now!!
I am not quite sure why we got that call as long as the food still there & we can eat. That is all that matters.

I am not sure what happen to my pictures I reloaded them. I feel so unorganized for this trip. I haven't got hardly anything ready.
