I'm not ashamed to beg Pre Trip **Updated 8/20** - Page 2 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

So today is Sunday, so not much I can do. Haha, I made 2 itineraries (sp) since I discovered that the P& P party was happening the night we arrive. But, DH doesn't want to go Okay, I will not be disappointed since this is a special trip and I'm just so happy to be going back before next year!!! We'll have to catch the party on another trip So here's the plan:
8/23-Leave VA. very early and drive to Ft Jackson, SC to see future SIL graduate boot camp. Hopefully this will not take toooooo long so we can get back on the road and continue to WDW.
8/24- Arrive in WDW and check in at OKW. since I don't know what time we will get there no ressies, we'll have CS and wander around Epcot and catch Illuminations.
8/25-MK, since party was night before hoping crowds will be down. Dinner LTT 5:05
8/26-AK and dinner at 5:00 at Olivia's then to MK for evening EMH and wishes
8/27-Epcot and dinner at Kona at 5:30
8/28- Check out, breakfast with Lilo and Stitch at 11:50, maybe hit a park and then head for home.
No MGM this trip. It's not our favorite park and we'll only be there 4 days. I know it will be hot, hot, hot so we'll give this one more attention on the Apr trip.
Now, I just checked SW and we can fly for about 550.00. What do you think my chances are of getting this too?

My DH is soooo good to me. I got the airfare just now. Yippeeee!!! No car driving with 2 brats. Now if I could just get through to DVC to add another day Since we're not driving we can go a day earlier, but we have to fly out on the early flight . Oh well, for $59 I can't complain too much. So now I have to make an ADR for the first night and cancel the breakfast for the last day. Whooo Hooo, more planning. This is so much fun.
So the plans they have a changed again. Not only did I get to fly but I got an extra day!!! Oh yeah, I think I told you that. I'm just soooo excited. I was able to add another day at OKW for the 23rd so I had to make some more adr's. oh shucks. So this is what I've come up with;
Arrive 8/23 11:45 am- H & V Fantasmic Package 4:10 pm ( a little early but I'm sure the kids will be ready to eat and I couldn't believe they had an opening)
8/24-LE CELLIER!!!!!! Its lunch at 1:10 but who cares. I just asked on a whim not really expecting to get it.
8/25-LTT at 5:05 pm
8/26-Olivia's at 5:00 pm
8/27- Kona's at 5:30 pm
Had to cancel Stitch this trip though I may try to get him in instead of Olivia's. Has anyone eaten there? I'd love to hear something about it. All of these ADR's are new places for us and that is exciting and one of those will be DD's official birthday celebration. Which would you recommend? I'm thinking LTT since it has the characters.
so my plans are made and here I sit just waiting to go back to my happy place.
So, I still have 31 days to wait. I'm not real good at waiting so making plans on short notice is good for me. I had all my ressie numbers and was going to move them to my beloved Passporter and lo and behold I have no room!!! Now I had discussed this with DH when I first bought the 2007 version that maybe? I should get the binder, after all I would get a free pen. But noooooo, we don't need that honey, just get the spiral version. So, now what to do. I am very good at getting what I want. So I pull out the old one and I'm gonna try and use the stickers to cover up and reuse it and I show him my plan. He doesn't like that that will mess up all the hard work I put into it on the last trip. Sooooo, I got to order the binder but honey, I don't have any pockets to record them in. So I get to order the binder and some new pages. See, I'm very good. So I have my new binder and the great clean pages and I have filled them out so nice and neat. I am soooo excited.
My DME has arrived!!! Yeah, I am really going. I am sooo ready to get the suitcases out of the attic and start packing, but I am refraining. I will wait at least one more week.
I'm considering my ADR's and I'm not sure I like Olivia's. I may move that and try to do Donald's breakfast before it closes. I still have to pick one to celebrate Cati's birthday dinner. Any Suggestions? I'm thinking LTT since the characters will be there and it will be our first full day.
So now I'm ready to work on my thank you cards, mousekeeping envelopes ( I think I only need two since we're in DVC on points). I have to redo the id cards I made for the kids and print my snack list. Ohhhh, this is so fun!!!
So today I checked SW to make sure the flights were the same and the late flight out was open!! I'm thinking, now 2 weeks ago I could only get the early flight out of Orlando and was kinda bummed about it. So I go to double check the dates. UH OH, my dates for my flight do not match the dates for the resort. Okay I'm in major panic mode cause I just went and banked all the extra points!!! I am seriously stressing. So I call Member Services and am just about in tears trying to explain what has happened. Carla so much fixed it all. My dates are matched and she fixed the points. I am not stressing anymore. So then I went back to the SW website and rebooked the later flight out of Orlando!!! for the same price. Gotta love SW
