As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Rachel, I think lots of people are saying that Jimmy looks like Wally because he's a boy! I think he looks like you!
On a side note, my MIL actually accused me of cheating on DH since none of the kids look like him, they all look like me. Of course, DH and I have such similar baby pictures that we could be related. Crazy!
Chrissi - DJ looks JUST like you!! You have the exact same nose AND mouth! Rachel - no, it's not narcissistic. Every parent looks for themself in their child - even me! Ryan can raise one eyebrow just like me and people say he looks like Shawn all the time. (They do have the same ears which is really funny! ) Shawn's family has some pretty strong genes - Shawn's nephew looks almost exactly like him. They even have the same funny bouncy walk! It's hysterical to see them walking together.
My DS looks exactly like DFIL. Right down to how they can wiggle their eyebrows. DD looks sort of like me (we're both girls )but alot like DH. But I always say, well if the outside is you then the inside is me. And it's true! Logan to read and Layla puzzles.
My DD is a combination of my sister and my ex-husband. She looks a little like each of them, and nothing like me. (She has my bossy attitude, though, so I know she is definitely my kid! ) Bummer, considering all we go through to have them!

Hey Rachel- get used to it Just kidding!! I too, was an incubator for all 3 of my kids.. none of them look like me..
Jamie is the spitting image of my brother ( & his real Daddy, as Melanie says Donny Osmond!! ) When he was a baby he was the picture of Jim..
Brendan is the spitting image of my FIL & Jim
Shelby is Jim.. ( she's got a little bit of me but VERY little.. her eyes!)
I see more of Wally in Jimmy than you.. ( sorry sweetie!!) I think he has Wallys eyes & eyebrows thus the reason he resembles him more.. It's a shame these kids resemble their Daddys when they've got such good lookin Mama's huh?
My mothers family traits seem to carry over to the women in my family. All of my Aunts, but 1 look excatly like my Oma, with a few of my Opa's traits tossed in(mostly the eye brows), and I look like my mom, and my DD looks like me. So does the youngest DNiece. Even my DSIL family tell her she looks like me.

I don't think it's a "right or wrong" question, it's just what you see. To me, Jimmy looks like Wally, but babies looks do change over time. I can tell you that with my two boys, our first looks like Paul, and my youngest, Chris, looks like me. In fact, when Chris was born people would say he was "the spit out of my mouth." I guess that means he really, really looks like me. I didn't really see it, but I think he got the best features of Paul and me. So I say he's the new and improved version of me. Maybe after you've had your second baby you will see that one favors you more, and one favors Wally more.
I can see some of you in Jimmy, Rachel! And it IS only fair!!
Amy, congratulations on overcoming the issues you and DB were having with conceiving!
Everybody says that Paige is the spitting image of me ( Babe! ), and that Drew looks exactly like Dan. However to my eyes, I see one of Dan's nieces in Paige and Drew has a lot of characteristics of my cousin.
It's a shame these kids resemble their Daddys when they've got such good lookin Mama's huh?
Oh, I'm so passing this on to my MIL! And well said!
Rachel, I see both of you in Jimmy. He's just going to be round and pudgy the first few years. When he slims down and thins out the baby rolls, he'll look more like one of you. Right now, people will grasp at any similarity and they will claim he looks like his father because he's a boy. To say he looks like you may be construed as an insult from the wrong person, so people will say what's safe.
Amy! OMG! Congrats on ypur growing family! I hope you're enjoying your pregnancy---I was a nervous wreck throughout mine, but now that it's over I miss it!
As far as Jimmy goes--honestly I do think he looks like the both of us, I just had "a moment" hearing yet again how much he looks like Wally. I'm glad he has his dad's jawline and sometimes Wally's eyes will look around and I'll think "that was just like Jimmy!"
I think DMIL would love to be able to prove that DS was some sort of immaculate conception comprised entirely of her favorite son and that I was just a surrogate. She took pictures of portraits to prove it to me.
Chrissi - It sounds to me like your MIL and my MIL are sisters separated at birth! I swear my MIL thinks the same thing! She even calls my DS her "son" sometimes. She says it is an accident when she says it, but I'm not fooled!!! Talk about your oedipal complex!!!! Maybe it's more like the Jocasta complex (he he. My HS English teacher would be so proud I just made a funny about Oedipus)

Well, some of you have met my girls. And you know they look like me in every way except in the chest area. They got them from Pat's side of the family.
