The Wacky Hijinks of the Crazy Lady Trio at Mousefest **Updated 3/10** - Page 19 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Hee-hee! I think you were simply trying to get a picture of Donald and Daisy's tails to add to your collection ...
I remember some Cape May Cafe breakfast photos - I think they were Chip and/or Dale, and then there was Buzz-butt ...
Come on you guys, I can't possibly be the only person who has thought of this!?!
~~~~~~~~~~~~
LOVE the pictures Sharon, especially Canada, that is one of my favorite picture spots too, and the ice Castle is just beautiful. I'm interested to see how you all enjoyed your stay at Wilderness Lodge, since we're staying there in a few months.
The DVC mixer sounded like tons of fun! Those cookies looked yummy, and I love your stealth shots of Donald and Daisy. One thing, though - who is this chick in the background?
I assume she's part of the Merry Mixer, but I can't figure out her role...unless there's a DVC pagent that hasn't been mentioned.
She's a character called something like Christmas Spirit... she's basically just a person who goes around introducing herself to the guests and makes sure everyone's having a good time. She's quite fun, rather loud, and very warm.
My shots of the characters aren't necessarily "stealth" shots, per se. More like, "oh crap... there's a character coming... get out the camer... Darn... missed them again."
Eileen
I'd like to point out that Tigger was waving at ME! He got very excited that I'd seen him and then proceeded to play hide-and-seek with ME!
If you say so.
Great updates, ladies! I continue to admire Sharon's madd picture taking skillz! And, Eileen, I totally understand your "sweating, hyperventilating and losing all semblance of intelligence" Last night was the first time I didn't sound like a bumbling idiot when I was having a conversation with Bronson! Can't wait to see the shaking of the groove things!!
This TR is a riot!!! Great blackmail photos left and right!
I LOVE the shot of Father Christmas with Tigger in the background!! That is too cute! (and on a side note, I just love Father Christmas....he's my fav!)
There are two Karens to keep up with in this segment, so to try to make things easier to understand, I’ll use the usernames too. I’m already confused! Also, I’ve got some shots of PPers dancing and no one was able to meet my demands for one million dollars so I’m totally posting them! Can I tell you how long I’ve been waiting to use that little Dr. Evil smiley? FOREVER! I’m so happy now!
Day Two, Part Three PassPorters Shaking Their Groove Thangs
Karen (zacksmom_1993) and I headed back to the WL via the boat. I figured it’d get things moving a little quicker if we stopped at the desk and got the ball rolling on sending up our luggage before heading to the room ourselves.
I was really pleased with the location of our room. We were right next to the lobby on the 5th floor, overlooking the courtyard. We had a nice view and were centrally located, and only a short walk from the elevator.
While we waited for our luggage, I snapped a few pictures of the room.
Then I spotted this very clever Hidden Mickey. It’s kind of a tricky one. Can you spot it?
Then I stepped out onto the balcony to check out the view.
Our luggage arrived and the CM had no time to flirt with Karen (and incidentally, was not as cute as Jerry), as we were giving him the bum’s rush. We had someplace to be! We headed back to the boat dock. While we were waiting there, we enjoyed chatting with a nice family, and Karen was kind enough to impart some of her wisdom upon them about parade spots and shows to catch and such.
When Karen and I got to the park, we got our wristbands and met up with Eileen (Caldercup), Lesley (WDWfan), Terri (DrDolphin), Tiff (tigger22) and Dawn (DawnDenise). Got that? I hope so! Our plan was to catch the Night Before Christmas show, so we headed to the Galaxy theater and grabbed seats, taking up nearly an entire row. Someone spotted Karen (mattnkatsmum) and her DH Steve (he’s a DH, no user name for him!!). Lesley went to tell her where we were so we could meet them after the show. Then Karen turned around and waved to us and the big bunch of PPers in our row all waved back. I think that may have scared Steve a bit, but there was no way they could escape the theater without passing us, so they were stuck!
There were snowflakes on the roof of the theater, and I managed to get a very good photo of it.
The show started and I started to take some photos, but they didn’t turn out all that well, and I didn’t feel like fidgeting with the settings, so I eventually stopped taking photos. Here are a couple that are somewhat decent.
After the show, we all sort of ambushed Karen (mattnkatsmum) and Steve. I don’t think we really scared Steve too much, because they agreed to hang with us for a bit. Karen is a delight, and just as witty in person as she is on the boards. I just realized that that sentence applies to both Karens, but in this case, I was talking about mattnkatsmum. Not zacksmom_1993. And I’ve also just now realized that they both have user names inspired by their kids. Ok, I’m sure that amuses nobody but me, but it does amuse me, so there!
I’m sorry, but if I had to suffer the inconvenience of hanging out with two Karens (or mom/mums) at the same time, you have to suffer too. Let’s just assume that when I say “Karen” for the rest of this post, I mean mattnkatsmum. Because once she showed up, I spent all my time hanging on to her every word, and zacksmom_1993 was relegated to the back of the crowd. She didn’t do or say anything interesting for the rest of the evening anyway. Actually, the 2 Karens thing wasn’t even an issue, but I don’t have anything else to talk about, so I decided to spend two paragraphs on it. Ugh! Sorry!
The huge group of PPers headed over to Cosmic Ray’s to get some cookies and hot chocolate. While we were in there, we encountered even more PPers! Yvonne (TinkerBelz) and her family and Robin (RobinKay6573). They decided to join our group, since we were headed to see Philharmagic.
On the way, I spent the whole time telling Karen how wonderful and witty and brilliant I think she is. We actually talked a bit about my future plans to visit London. And I’d like to take this time to say that I mentioned this to Karen only because I thought she’d be interested to know. I’m not one of those people. You know how they are. When they hear where someone is from, they ask “Do you know so-and-so?” even though so-and-so actually lives clear across the country.
This is going horribly off-topic. I’m really sorry about that and I’ll try to keep it interesting for those of you still with me.
In Philharmagic, I didn’t have to complain about how badly Philharmagic needs a preshow, with so many PassPorters to talk to! I was happy with my seat, because there weren’t any members of the Fathead family in front of me.
After Philharmagic, our group broke up some. So Tiff and Dawn (and Yvonne’s daughter Cassie) joined the CLT at the dance party with the Lady Tremaine and the Stepsisters. This was a lot of fun!
Lots of little girls (and boys) were “getting down” with the Steps.
Check out the little blonde girl in pink with the green Crocs! Awesome!
And a few older little girls were “getting down” too!
I have no idea why this picture is at a crazy angle, but I love it!
It was a hoot! And as Karen says, they totally got the party started! I was just about to join in on the dancing, until the DJ busted out Dancing Queen and that settled it for me! I stayed on the sidelines with my camera (and Eileen). Dawn, Tiff, and Karen had no such aversion to Dancing Queen, and even sang along! Dorks!
We needed to find a spot to watch the fireworks, so we left the party and went to the hub to catch the holiday version of Wishes.
While we waited for the fireworks, I got a shot of the castle, but it’s a little blurry.
Terri and Lesley rejoined us, as did Karen and Steve. Then the fireworks began.
Holiday Wishes is nice, but regular Wishes is better, IMO. Eileen announced to everyone that it had been years since she’d done Pooh (eww!), so we decided that we needed to correct that. Sounds really unhealthy, maybe she should see her doctor
On the way there, we ran into more PassPorters! Barb (GrammyGrumpy) and her DH Bob. Eileen told them that she needed to do Pooh. Eileen, you’re my friend so I can tell you this. Oversharing!
After riding the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, we headed for the big PassPorter meet in Frontierland. There were so many PPers there! Almost everyone I’ve mentioned before was there, but I met a bunch of people for the first time. I’m sure I’ll forget someone, but I met Bill (LizardCop) and Jan and their granddaughter, Donna (GoofyMom), Lorie (Minnie Lor), Sue (rescuesk), Karen (kmurburg), Sarah (Belle*), and of course Jennifer and Dave (and Alexander). I feel like a total name-dropper now.
I didn’t take any pictures because I was too busy gabbing. Eventually the parade started. I generally am not thrilled with how my photos come out of the night time parades, but I am very pleased with my results.
After the parade, we hung out a while longer talking to all the PassPorters.
The next thing we did was catch the castle show. I didn’t have the greatest spot, so I only took one photo.
Then we ran into Robin and Yvonne again. We spent a few minutes talking to them, then did some shopping on Main Street (it was snowing! Can you believe it! ) before heading back to the Lodge. We ran into the nice family we’d seen on the boat on the way over and we chatted with them again.
Up Next: A Lost Camera
