A seed was planted and here’s what grew....Magical Memories - Page 18 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Another great day Darlene! Great pictures of CP, and how fun to meet up with Danielle and Tom! Sorry about getting the wrong picture! I hope it works out in the end!
Thanks Marnie. It was a fun day, especially meeting Danielle and Tom.

Thanks - those were cute but since I don't look good in photos, I decided not to kiss the frog myself

CBJ - my first thought is to say it's a nice place to cool off but you have to keep in mind, this is something I've seen every single visit. It's not a must do for me but because Abby really enjoys the show a lot we go for her. For someone who's never seen it before though it's definitely worth at least one visit - more if you enjoy the songs like Abby does and the humor. We haven't seen the Princess and the Frog but the pictures did turn out well.

Thanks - it was a great day. I'm still surprised Abby asked for BTM but she's growing up. Maybe it's not as rough on her. Who knows. Maybe next time she'll ask for EE but this year she avoided that one.

I beleive you are correct about Pooh's thoughtful place play area going in front of Many Adventures of WInnie the Pooh. I was there a week or two after you and there was a Tree sticking out in many areas of the boarded up area in front. Jungle cruise id a favorite of mine and its so much better when you get a Skipper who has good timing and is naturally funny.
Thanks, I'm glad you're enjoying everything. I hope more of Pooh's spot goes into the line. I knew the tree was getting moved - there were reports of that before I even left but the honey pots and stuff were really cute and it's a shame for them to just disappear. A good skipper is definitely a must IMO on JC - it's no fun if you don't have one.

Get this popular e-book free of extra charges when you join the PassPorter's Club for as little as $4.95. A club pass includes access to all our other e-books; e-worksheets; super-size photos; and more! This e-book is also available for separate purchase in the PassPorter Online Store for just $5.95.
Wow Darlene another busy day! I had a hard time picking which picture I like best but I have to pick the one of Abby holding the frog. It is just so cute.
Sounds like you had a wonderful time at MK. It's my favorite park.
I have to ask if Toon Town is still open. We leave in 3 weeks and I am really hoping that Minnie & Mickey's houses are still there.
Again it was a great update. As I have said before you do such a great job with your TR's.
Thanks Olive - Abby's picture did come out really cute. I wasn't sure it would at first watching her struggle to get the pose, but it did. We did have fun at the MK and even though it's the first and original, with Abby enjoying so many parts of the parks I can't say that I have a favorite anymore. Toon town was still open when we were there but you know Disney operates. What's open today may not be open tomorrow. Here's some that it remains open for you. And thanks again for the compliments. I'm glad that you're really enjoying it.

Thanks, I'm glad you like it. I don't know if that photographer is the only one who does the frog picture or if that's even a normal spot for it. I think that was the only time all week we saw someone there. But if truth be told, I don't remember seeing nearly so many photographers this year in any of the parks like we did last year.

We did have a fun day. We like CP too - that's why we keep returning to it. And yes, I did end it there. I made the call after the park was closed so there was nothing they could do that night.

Thanks Cassie - I'm glad you're enjoying everything. We did have a magical trip and I'm going to try to post the next day later on. I'm not promising though. And I know exactly what you mean about cravings. I try to avoid the dining reviews and the food picture thread but if you want the yogurt I had, you can get it at the stores. It's the family size container of Yoplait and it says right on it "smooth, creamy style" strawberry yogurt. And I've only found it in that 2 pound container but not at every store. I don't know if it's because it's popular and sells out or if the 2 stores I looked at just don't carry it. Luckily the third store I go too sells it.

Thanks. I'm glad you're enjoying it - KP and the balloon were fun, as were a lot of other things on our vacation. Thanks for the well wishes for Lenny. He appreciates them. I'm going to try to post the next day later (hopefully) and I like adding the pictures. Sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words and I just really think they add to the TR.
Caught up! Great MK day! Though you were less than overjoyed with your JC, the pics are great! As are all the others! Anxious to see if the Imageworks snafu got straightened out-interested in seeing that Nemo pic!
Thanks Chantel. And you know me enough by now that I'm giving nothing away. You'll find out in due time when and if things were made right.

Thanks. I'm glad you're enjoying everything. The pictures were taken at the Fantasy Theater in Imagination. Although now with Kodak pulling their sponsorship of the pavilion, it will be interesting to see if that even remains open. I really don't know what will get affected so don't read too much into my comment.

We are taking my Niece one day so it would be such a fun surprise for her as she has no clue about the surprise photos they do. this is only her second trip to the Magic Kingdom.
Any word on how Lenny's tests went? I hope it was good news! I hope they got the Nemo picture squared away too and that when they do you will not only have that but a free extra castle picture
can't wait to read more!
Thank you. I'm glad you're enjoying everything. And yes, the "surprises" are fun. Some of the photographers will let you in on it before the pictures, others make you wait but since we know what's up (especially for the balloon picture), there are no surprises anymore with the pictures, but that's okay for us. They're still fun.

Thanks. I'm glad you enjoyed it and a day at Disney that's not busy isn't for me. Even when everyone else is resting, I'm still doing something. And since almost all of those somethings aren't interesting (sorting laundry anyone?). they haven't been included in the TR

Can't wait to hear what happened with the Nemo picture, and the bookmark - this is like a cliffhanger!
I hope you didn't get in trouble for the long lunch break - that wouldn't be too good. Thanks for the pixies and as for the cliffhanger, ask Chantel, she knows. I'm good with putting them in my TR. And yes, I did it intentionally. It started off as a way to keep you guys reading my TR's. I didn't want people leaving my TR in the middle . I saw all those other TR's with lots of views and replies and I wanted to one like it - a good one people would enjoy and keep reading and commenting on and I figured putting in a cliffhanger would keep people interested. Now I don't need the cliffhanger to keep peoples interest but it's just part of how I write now. Plus it's fun to keep people guessing about what will or won't happen. So stay tuned to find out about the bookmark and Nemo picture
Pixies to Lenny for his upcoming procedure and pixies for you, too! I didn't like having to drive DH to all his Dr. appointments in the city either since I don't like the big traffic and roads I don't know well. Also all the wait times are hard! Hope you both get through everything with flying colors!

Just finished reading your whole TR so far, I can't believe I missed it. Sounds like you have had a pretty good trip so far, especially with your food issues. Love those Disney Chefs! Our DS has a severe peanut/tree nut allergy. All your pics are just great. I was hoping that Imageworks would still be there when we went in a couple of weeks but it looks like since Kodak has pulled out it will be gone. Love your picture from them with the castle, hope you get the Nemo one as well. Looking forward to the rest of your TR.

for the upcoming procedure. I know what you mean about driving in the city. I used to work in Boston for years and dreaded it. I would drive in before 7am just to avoid the traffic. This was of course before my daughter came along. Am so glad to have a job closer to home now, that used to take me 1.5 hours each way with much traffic.
Can't wait to hear more about the cliffhangers... I need lessons on writing trip reports from you. I never even finished the one I started last December, LOL
