The "There's Too Many Titles for This TR" Trip Report - COMPLETE!! 6/29/10 - Page 18 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

We thought about doing the Stingray in GC but I figured DD wouldn't be too comfortable with all of them swimming around so we opted for the one at Castaway Cay. This was definitely more to her liking. Beautiful photos!
Sorry to hear about the back injury ! To be injured on holiday really stinks. Looks like a beautiful day, glad the excursion went well. Fernanda was one of the CM in Rachel's club, she liked her too.
Here are the navigators for our trip (they are all in one file)! Sorry for the delay Heather (I know you wanted to see them before you left)! The only thing missing is the Duty Free Liquor Price handout, and the Onboard Shopping Promotions flyer (internet, beverage packages, portraits, and some spa info). If someone wants to see those, I can scan them separately and try to attach to this message!
Sounds like you had a wonderful day!! Sorry to hear about your back. Hopefully it won't bother you too much for the rest of the trip. Also, wonderful pictures from your day!!

Day 9 – Thursday, August 27, 2009 – My aching back, and another quiet day at sea!
I forgot to mention that last night, we had to put the clocks ahead one hour, so we lost an hour of sleep. I think I also confused my sleeping arrangements…..I slept on the bed last night, not the sofa bed, and the bed was too soft so needless to say, I woke up in even worse shape than yesterday. With the time change, and just being exhausted from our excursion yesterday, we slept in and ended up missing our character breakfast! We did it on the last cruise, and have done numerous character meals at the parks, so I wasn’t really that disappointed. Actually I think everyone was up except for Alexa, so we decided to let her sleep in. Once she woke up, it was back to Topsiders for breakfast! J
After breakfast, we decided to go watch UP in the theater (it was being shown in 3D which we didn’t get when we saw it at home). I don’t know how anyone can get comfortable in the Buena Vista Theater as the seats are so close together. My knees were knocking the chair in front of me and I’m barely 5 feet tall on a good day! Alexa had wanted to go to the Detective School in the club, so I left the movie to go drop her off. After the movie, Alexa’s thing was just about over, so we went to pick her up, and then went down to the Promenade Lounge for the Family Kite Making activity. There were a lot of people there, and no crayons or markers left, so we just grabbed our kite and left. Next up was lunch. Today was the seafood buffet, so we headed to Parrot Cay since we were right there anyway! It was a great spread of food. Colin actually had some prime rib or whatever the beef is they were carving. Everyone stuffed themselves silly!
After lunch, Matt needed his nap, and the kids wanted to swim, so we went up to the Goofy Pool and watched High School Musical while swimming! The kids also played foosball and ping pong. I just sat on the lounge chair, trying to find a comfortable position, which I didn’t really find. I did have a Rusty Anchor, which wasn’t as good as the one last night! The kids snacked on ice cream and fruit from Goofy’s. We were up on deck for a good few hours. Matt finally rose from his nap, and joined us for a bit, although didn’t swim. Today was also the “graduation” ceremony from the kids club. Matt went to drop Alexa and Colin off in their groups, while I went to take a shower (and to down some Advil). By the time I made it down to the theater, the show was over! L At least he had it on videotape.
After picking up the kids from their clubs, we headed to dinner. Tonight was Lumiere’s (Captain’s Gala Menu) and semi-formal night. I had the herbed shrimp and a salad for appetizers. Matt had the oysters Rockefeller and the mushroom soup. Colin had his usual pizza. For dinner, Matt had the lobster tail, and I had the blue cheese and asparagus risotto. I’m not sure what Alexa had but I think it was the kids surf and turf. For dessert, I’m sure I had the sampler. Ali had brought the girls out the chocolate lava cake with ice cream. And then of course he had more magic tricks for the kids!
After dinner, Matt and Alexa went to see Disney Dreams. I sat on the verandah for a while and finished up the bottle of chardonnay. It was cool as we were passing by the Florida Keys, so I was watching the lights. Then I layed in bed with Colin. The sofa bed now, which was rock solid! Colin was asleep before 9 PM. The fireworks from the Pirate Party were due to go off at 10:15, but I never heard them! I’m not sure if Alexa and Matt went to the fireworks or not as I think I finally passed out.
The weather today was…sunny, mid 80s with a breeze!
The best thing today was…..relaxing at the pool and the seafood buffet!
The worst thing today was….my back hurting.
The funniest thing today was……Ali and more magic tricks!
Today we tried…….the seafood buffet
And the result was…..Don’t miss it!
The most magical moment today was……sleeping in for a change!
Coming up next……Castaway Cay – Someone got bit, lots of sunburn, and enough already!
