For the plans they are a changin’ TR - Page 17 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

What a great day you had with some nice attractions in Studios! That was a great meal and experience you had at Boma as all looked good! Even better was your server Paul surprising you with so many desserts! At Beaches and Cream, I can't believe that one family ordered the kitchen sink after a big lunch and two small kids. You need 8 or more with big appetites to have any chance of finishing it.

Sounds like a really fun day! So nice of you both to give up your seats on the bus for the mom's with their little ones. I'm with you on the whole RNRC thing now. My DH does the single rider line and I usually just shop while he's waiting. We haven't done the Frozen Sing Along Show yet but hope to soon! That little girl sitting next to you sounded so adorable. I love Boma and your selections are exactly what I usually like to eat there! The soups are one of my favorite along with the avocado fruit mixture.

Boma always has so many good selections! I'm glad we ended up being able to fit it in!
I don't think we've ever seen anyone finish the kitchen sink at Beaches and Cream!

I used to be able to ride RnRC, but the last few times I get off thinking, "Why did I do that?" So, it's just better to avoid it.
Can't wait to take our granddaughters to WDW in 2020! At 3, 5 and 7 they know all the words to just about everything Disney. On our last trip in September I never finished an entire meal the whole week we were there. I couldn't imagine ordering the Kitchen Sink for dessert! DH and I shared a citrus swirl and that was plenty for me. I really think the hot weather we had ruined my appetite. Btw, love the blue print skirt!

Seeing Disney through the eyes of your grandchildren is truly special!
The blue print skirt is actually a skort - I have three or four and just love how comfortable they are! They are great for touring the parks!
September 25
We woke up early, showered and had breakfast. Then finished packing. We decided to wrap all of our souvenirs and pack them in the carry –on bag. Then we headed down to RAC to check our bags and stow our carry-ons with bell services.
We took a bus to Mk and as we were arriving, about 9:40, we caught the trolley show.
Then we headed for Jungle Cruise which was our first FP.
Then we sat at the tables for Tortuga Tavern to wait for our late breakfast ADR at Crystal Palace.
We headed to Crystal Palace at 10:15 to check in. It was very crowded, and very hot, but soon after they took our information, we got a text to come to the window and wait to be called. So then we stood in the shade of the porch area and waited about 10 minutes – I don’t get this two pronged approach. Why don’t they just text you when they are ready to seat you???
There was a young couple across from us, and they were called just before us, so we were following them to the entrance. The girl had a very short Minnie skirt on. OMG - so short that her backside was exposed. Yikes!
We were seated in a great little table for two, with me on a bench seat and Jeff on a chair. Soon Piglet came around to say Hello.
Then we helped ourselves to the buffet. Sorry, no pictures, but everything was yummy!
I ordered some GF waffles which are always delicious! I actually ordered just one, but the chef made two anyway. Jeff ended up eating the second one.
During breakfast the rest of the bunch came around…Tigger, Eeyore, and finally Pooh Bear.
Meanwhile the place was emptying out as they prepared for the lunch crowd. And then they closed down one side of the buffet for the changeover.
After our meal, we headed down Main Street for our FP for M&G with Mickey.
After meeting Mickey, we made our way to Tomorrowland and rode Carousel of Progress.
And then we took the back way to Fantasyland, and walked through to Liberty Square to use our FP for Haunted Mansion.
We left MK about 1:30, taking a few more pics on the way out.
One we got back to Kidani we relaxed in the lounge area.
At first there was no one else in there, but eventually a few more people came in. One lady was watching videos on her tablet without headphones and it was pretty annoying.
Jeff walked up to the 5th floor to take some photos from up there.
Then we took the shuttle to Jambo to have lunch at Mara. I got a special order of GF chicken tenders and fries, Jeff got a bacon cheeseburger. We relaxed there for a while and then went back to Kidani to wait for DME.
I have no notes after this. So…I guess that means an uneventful trip to the airport. Once we got to the airport we made our way through the mess that is TSA security. This was the first time in a few years that we hadn’t gotten the random TSA pre-check, so it was quite a long wait.
And then I think we got something to eat at the airport…but I don’t remember what.
And after our 2 ½ hour flight my brother picked us up at the airport and brought us home.
And we also didn’t write our best/worst/magical list this day, so….I guess, that’s a wrap!

Quite an active morning in the MK as you packed so much in with the attractions and breakfast at the CP! I can't believe the mini-skirt that girl wore! Nice lunch at the Mara and have enjoyed a few lunches there. Glad all went well with the flight except the long waits at TSA at MCO!
I really enjoyed your TR and thanks for sharing your adventure!

You're welcome!
I'm glad I finished the TR when I did, and got it in before PP signed off.
I didn't get the last installment on FB, but I guess that's ok.
