10 Nights of Magic in The Orlando Trifecta-TR - COMPLETE!! 12/10 - Page 17 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Ha ha, I love your title for this update, Welcome to Sim City! I agree there are too many simulator rides at Universal. While I like them, it starts to feel like the same thing over and over and I get bored. I don’t include Forbidden Journey in that category though, as that is one of my favorite rides anywhere.
Sounds like you were able to get a lot done, even with sleeping in. That’s a great deal on the express pass (to be included in).
I can’t wait to read all about Halloween Horror Nights!
Still got to spend about five hours in US today so a pretty active day. Love the express pass and made a big difference and better yet as included with my resort stay! There will be one more update before I get into HHN.

Wow, you did get a lot done. I for one do not like simulator rides which disappoints me about Universal but the rest of the rides look really fun.
Another successful day at US. I think there are too many of these rides but there are quite a few of them I enjoy!

Great time in US today. Love the express pass so much and allows me to accomplish so much. Far better than FP+ as there are no limits. Looking forward to sharing HHN with everyone. Probably this weekend!

I was too and good by early afternoon! Quite an active day. I can tell you HHN is quite different than any Halloween experience I've ever had.

I try to come up with a good title and one of the better ones I've had! There are definitely too many sim rides and some are quite similar whil others are great and quite unique. Forbidden Journey is my favorite ride in USF.

Thursday, October 5 (Part II) After The Simpson’s ride, I crossed the bridge and walked a few minutes to the Harry Potter portion in Universal Studios. There was much more to see here as was on the Islands of Adventure side! Just wished I hadn’t missed one of the attractions as I didn’t realize it until I got home! This being Escape from Gringotts. To this day, I can't believe I did this! The problem being was taking out my Universal map and just looking at the attractions for Harry Potter on the Islands of Adventure side and not Universal Studios as the Wizarding World of Harry Potter is located in both parks! Live and learn and good reason to return to get the rest in!
This is the entrance to Harry Potter’s Diagon Alley and very easy to miss as I did yesterday!
As it was on the Islands of Adventure side this is very well themed as well!
The infamous dragon but unfortunately no show, while I was here! Not sure when the dragon shows it's firely breath to the masses with the show! Perhaps, someone can share the specifics!
Quite a few people, but not overly crowded which made it more enjoyable!
Love the colors, details, shape and design of the buildings as they are so unique!
Love this narrow alcove and a hidden gem!
After exploring Diagon Alley it was time to do what I was here for and that was a return trip on the Hogwart’s Express to Hogsmeade Station back in the Islands of Adventure park! So how much different will the experience be than yesterday? I know they are but interested in seeing how much!
Entrance hall at King’s Cross station
Corridor leading to train platform.
Much more crowded at King’s Cross than at Hogsmeade yesterday!
My train arriving!
Loved the steam and sounds of the train which made it so much more real!
Even though there were a lot of people waiting to get on the train, I didn’t have to wait for another train. The ride was amazing once again! There was so much going on during the ride back and it was completely different than the ride to King’s Cross yesterday! The key is to stay alert and pay attention to what’s going on or you’ll miss something! It was another great experience!
After exiting Hogsmeade station I made my way through much of Islands of Adventure to just prior to the park exit.
There were a few shops that I wanted to visit as I was interested in getting a Universal Studios tee shirt. I looked around for a while and found one I wanted.
Here’s what I ended up with and I think it’s a good one!
After buying my Universal tee, I left Islands of Adventure and headed towards City Walk to get the water taxi back to the Royal Pacific. It was 4:20 pm and I’d be back for Halloween Horror Nights in just over two hours!
I arrived at the boat dock and there was a boat to the Royal Pacific waiting. It was quite full, but I got a seat. In just a few minutes, I was back at my resort.
I returned to my room to relax, get ready for tonight and write up my notes from today.
NEXT: How Scary Will This Be?

Too bad you missed Gringotts it is a great ride, oh well it leaves something for next time. There are so many hidden spots in Diagon Alley, you can explore for quite awhile.
