The Neverland Gang Is Back...And I Don't Wanna Grow Up!! - Page 17 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Awesome update!! Can't wait to read more!!! Man I miss WDW! We're not going back until next Feb (though I REALLY want to go back in fall, lol, I'm trying to hang on until Feb)...
Such great pictures from this day! I think I'll have to do park openings for myself as my two buddies love their sleeping in. Your boys always look like they are having so much fun. I especially like the pics of them "enjoying" Move It, Shake It, Celebrate It. Stefanie would have so much fun dancing with your boys. Can't wait for more!
I am a sleeper too. I always think I'll be so excited that I'll pop right out of bed. But it doesn't seem to work that way. My boys are dancin' machines. Maybe some day they will be able to dance together.

Great pics of the boys. Sounded like a great start to your day with Ohana's and MK.
I WILL get to those opening ceremonies...some day.

You had my favorite view of Tiana's Showboat Jubilee or whatever it's called. It's amazing how close you can get!
At first we had no idea why we were just standing on the raft...jammed in like sardines...in the sun...smelly sardines in the sun...and then we were treated to a fantastic view of the showboat.

I feel the same way as you when leaving MK for the last time, even if we are not leaving WDW yet there is something so sad about walking through the MK gates for the last time.
If the busses seem to be running that way the next time we go...I'm hoppin' a cab to get myself to MK for RD. And MK is the first place I have to see, I should start making it the last place to see too.

But that's the great thing about us Disneyholics... there's always a next time! Loved those pics from 'Ohana... especially with Pluto! Yes, I, too, get a little teary when leaving MK for the last time each trip. If only we could go there whenever we needed a little magic...
Come back with more soon!
I get teary when I read about OTHER people leaving MK I'd love to just be able to skip over and get some magic. Craig seems to think I'd get sick of it. No Way!! Pluto was the best!! The boys still talk about wrestling with him.

Thank you I think they're pretty cute too. Ohana is a favorite of ours...and Pluto just made it that much more special.

He will still just stop and bust a move wherever we might be if he hears a song he likes. He stopped last weekend in the middle of the pool club we joined, heard "Single Ladies" on the speaker and couldn't control himself. Just boogie-ing in the pool.

I loved seeing both sets of decorations. And it's amazing how they just 'magically' change, basically overnight.

I think that its so great that he brought out fruit loops for you baby boy that is so nice...that's why I love disney!
I love the dancing that took place at the parade...how great!
Sounds like a great MK day and I too get misty eyed as i leave....
I cant wait to hear more....I love reading about this trip!
We've certainly got a long list of things to do on our 'girls' trip'. Maybe we should stay for a couple of weeks.
Yeah, the fruit loops were the hit of the trip. We were watching a special on Disney on the travel channel that I taped and there was a wide shot of Crescent lake and you could practically see where our room was and I pointed it out and Jason said "But, where's the room with the fruit loops?" I don't know if he's going to be okay when we don't stay concierge on our next trip.

Sharon, Karen and I saw Tiana's Showboat Jubilee from the raft from TSI in December and it was a great view--I highly recommend it! I'm not thrilled to hear about the bus service from the BC--as we're staying there in July--hope it was a fluke. Hope dinner at AK was a blast!
Hopefully the bus service for you will be better. It really only seemed to be the MK busses for some reason. We didn't wait too long for most othe busses. I've been following your PTR and I can't wait to re-visit BC through your TR. (no pressure to finish it this time )

Friday the 6th Part Two:
Last year when we were here we ate at Yak & Yeti for one of the last reservations and the park was EMPTY when we left which was amazing. This year, I planned it on an evening EMH day. (Not quite as smart) The park was packed when we got there. But, we did see this cool ant eater…
Then we stopped for a Photopass pic with the tree being as the ones we had so far were with us and the whole Jersey group.
See the big-brother little-brother thing going on here, right?
Then we started toward Yak & Yeti and got stuck waiting for the Jammin’ Jungle parade to pass. We had never seen this parade and even though we weren’t right in front, it was a little unexpected bonus. Once the parade ended we followed it to Asia where we got to Y&Y early and were seated right away upstairs right next to the window. A great table. Here I had one of my favorite meals of the trip. I remembered liking the food so much last year that I had high hopes for this year, and it lived up to them. I had bourbon chicken and fried rice…
One of the meals I actually remembered to photograph.
Craig had a Kobe beef burger, with zesty Asian slaw. The boys both had chicken and broccoli that the chef made for them. Here’s where I screwed up though and totally miscalculated our meals and we had to pay OOP for this one. The DDP was free, so this was the only meal we actually paid for at all. Oh well, it was totally worth it!! Oh, and here’s a picture of me and Jason on the way out of the restaurant.
Okay, it’s not me…but that is exactly how I FELT after 8 days of eating at Disney.
We thought about staying after dinner to see FOLK, but it just didn’t work with our schedule, which was to hit our BC beach tonight with ice cream from B&C and watch Wall-e. So, we headed toward the exit and back to the BC.
We did decide to try to get some PP pics with the tree at night, but the boys had other ideas. We tried for a nice family shot, and the family loon showed up…
So the PP photog told the boys to just get the sillies out of them…and they did…
So we then got our nice family shot…well, sort of…
When we got back to the BC, we went to the room and bundled up a bit in sweatshirts and grabbed some blankets from the closet and headed to get a spot on the beach. We set up our chairs and then went to B&C for some ice cream. Now…for a good part of the day, Melanie (Principessa_di_Fata) and I had been texting to try to meet up tonight. She and her family were eating at Kouzzina for dinner and would be heading toward Epcot for Illuminations. So our plan was to let each other know when we were done and I’d meet her on the bridge from BW to Epcot. I got a text from her as we were getting our ice cream and told her I’d meet her in a few minutes. B&C was great about Jason’s ice cream and even scooped it from the back. He had vanilla ice cream with sprinkles and was in heaven. And while we were waiting for our GIANT sundaes, I noticed on the counter a dish with gluten free chocolate chip cookies, they were also nut free and Tyler had one of those, he doesn’t like ice cream…I know, that’s just weird. But we were glad to find a snack for him. Just another reason we will absolutely be coming back to the BC in the future!!
After we got our sundaes and I set the boys up on the chairs, I texted Melanie and said I’d meet her on the bridge from BW to IG. When I got there, she and her Mom and Meri and a few friends were waiting on the there for me. When I walked up we hugged like we had known each other forever! And then I was glad to be able to back her up because her friends were making fun of her for taking pictures of her food, so thank goodness I had remembered that day and I showed them my bourbon chicken dinner!! They were all so fun and we laughed a lot. Then I got to meet Meri. She is just the cutest and sweetest little thing. Of course we needed a picture and Meri jumped right in the picture and even gave me a hug.
My only regret was not bringing Jason to meet Meri. But, he had just gotten his ice cream and mine was already soup from walking over there. I would have LOVED a picture of the two of them. It will just be something we will try for in the future. We said our good-byes and they headed to Epcot to get a good spot for Illuminations. I am so glad we got to meet up!! Melanie and Meri are just so sweet and friendly, I hope to see them both again in the future.
Then I headed back to the beach with my mint chocolate chip soup. The boys were playing in the sand (we had brought their pails and shovels from lunch) and waiting for the movie.
Jason had made a friend and they were digging together. When he saw me he came up to me to tell me that he liked his new friend and that “he’s very kind”. When the movie started we bundled up together under the blankets to watch on the big blow-up screen. Now, this is one cool way to watch a movie. Under the stars, next to Crescent Lake on a soft sand beach cuddled with your little boys. (big sigh).
Then the yucky part. After the movie we had to head up to the room to pack. (Boo…Hiss) But, at the last minute I figured I would try to call and get a late check out for the next day. We had such a late flight and wanted to get some things done at DHS in the morning so I thought it would be a good idea. Couldn’t hurt to try right? So I called and we were able to get the late check-out, so it made things a little less hectic that night for packing. We got the boys bathed and jammie’d and into bed for our last night at the BC.
(I apologize ahead of time that I am sorely lacking on pictures this entry)

Okay....so I reread your TR...again.......and I really would love to hear the rest of the story!? Pleeeeeease?????
Okay, I'm sure I've dragged this out for sooo long that there's probably about 3 or 4 people that will forgive me and read on... But, I wanted to get this last day up here. Then I got a post from Susan (islandgirl) and she totally guilted me into it!! Thank you Susan for getting my butt moving.
So, for all 4 of you without further ado, here's our last day...
I so the series of night PP shots at AK! Smart photographer to have them get their sillies out! What a great last night, snuggled up on the beach at Crescent Lake! Priceless, indeed!

SWEET! I have been waiting for your update about the beach movies, as this is one thing we always SAY we are going to do.......and then never get to it.
I am making it a must this year!!!! Looks wonderful!!!!
Sorry your trip is coming to an end though.
Dawn, I thought my last reply went through on your previous update, but I guess not. sorry about that. Great updates and thank you for telling me where the Lilo & Stitch Surfboard is. Your breakfast at 'Ohana looked great and how wonderful the chef brought Jason some of his own special Fruit Loops. The pictures of the character interaction is great and I love the pictures of Pluto wrestling with the boys. I love all of your pictures.
Great last day with dinner at Yak & Yeti (adorible picture of Jason with Buddah Statue and great family photos) and what a relaxing evening you had between Ice Cream at B&C, seeing Melanie & Meri(cute siggy picture), & relaxing on the beach to watch Wall-E. We loved Wall-E when we rented it. Such a cute movie.
So sad to see your trip is coming to an end, but how wonderful they let you check out late. More please Dawn.
What a great way to end the day... we've always wanted to do one of those "movies under the stars" but never seem to fit it in. Looks especially nice on the beach! You're really convincing me we need to give BC a try. So sad your trip is coming to an end... I just hate that feeling. How awesome you got a late check-out... I never tried to do that either. What time did you have the room until? Hope you were able to squeeze in some last minute magic!

For the movie under the stars at BC, is that like the Chip & Dale Sing Along Campfire at FW where anyone stayig at a WDW Resort is able to go over to BC to watch the movie, or is it exclusive to BC Guests only? That looks like so much fun and something Skyler & I could possibly enjoy our last night at WDW(maybe with Hurricane Hanna's dinner thrown in. Dawn, you, Jason, & Craig look so comfy and cozy laying on those lounge chairs with the blanket on you.
