As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

I fell behind and now your trip is almost here! Sounds like you've got things pretty well under control now. I'm glad to hear work has calmed down a bit. And congrats on losing the weight!
Thanks! I feel like I have things under control now. Although DS unpacked a carry on last night. Must not take bags out when he is awake anymore! Work has picked up again, but nothing like it was a few weeks ago.

Congratulations on losing the weight! It doesn't matter how long it took you to get it off -- you did it!!
We're going whether we're prepared or not, but it is nice to have a good handle on things. I'm proud of being able to loose the baby weight, but I still really wish I had been one of those mom's that had the baby and were instantly a size 2 again. Would have been a lot less work! Although I've never been a size 2 in my life so that could have never happened anyways.

I was thinking...back to a size 2 - must be rough to be you. Then you threw in the last statement and that made me feel better.
It's almost here now and it sounds like you're ready to go. Congrats on the weight loss and for fitting into those jeans. I know it's tough doing that after having a baby, so good job!

Thanks! The hardest part about weight loss after a baby is finding the time to work out. Sleep or fitness? It's a tough decision. I found that I love my Wii Fit because I actually want to work out now days.
Well I just checked in online! 3 days to go. Well really only 2 1/2. It's getting really exciting. I did find something strange when I did online check in. When I looked into it a few days ago I had very limited options for what to pick from for special requests. We had requested connecting rooms already so that was checked and I couldn't change it. I also had options for a pack and play, close to transportation and such. Then when I actually went to do online check-in today there were several more options for me to choose from. SPRLK, SPR??50, SPR??60, etc. (I can't remember the exact letters, but they all started with SPR and ended with numbers). I added a pack and play to our request so we had our two: connecting rooms and pack and play. Then I checked in my in-laws and I tried selecting SPRLK (hoping it meant special request lake facing) and I got an error saying they were unable to add the room request. I have no idea why I was able to see those tonight. Or why I couldn't select them. At least I'm all checked in.
Tonight my DH works so I spent my evening backing up the pictures on our camera memory card. Took forever to get them uploaded to flickr. We backup all our pictures there. Ever since I got my new camera I have the hardest time uploading to flickr. I never had problems before. I wonder if it's because the images are larger as the new camera is higher resolution. My uploads have had a 25% fail rate and I have to re-try and re-try and re-try before the pictures upload correctly. Very annoying. I was able to upload some to facebook so I don't know why flickr is stupid. I'm finally done with that and have my memory cards cleared and ready for our trip.
Tomorrow night is cleaning. Time to play a fun round of "What smells in the fridge". It's really my most favoritest game ever. Plus more packing. I'm ready to just be in WDW already!

That is definitely a tough choice. I used to set my alarm for 4:45am so I could get my work-out in before I went to work and without her bothering me. They say exercise is supposed to give you energy, but I was drained by mid-day when I did that. Then I started running in the evenings, but I got really bad shin splints, so that went out the window. Now my exercise is chasing Hope around, and that seems to be working just fine.

Almost time! Congrats on your weight loss! My kids are now 8 and 12, and I still haven't gotten back to pre-pregnancy!
You've done a great job planning, now try to sit back and enjoy your trip! Just remember that no matter how much you planned, you never know what to expect with a toddler! Just go with the flow, and have a fantastic time!

Congrats on online check-in! Weird options, though!
I thought the options seemed strange. It said I was checked in and I got an email telling me to go to the online check-in area when we arrive so I assume everything went through.

I'm getting excited too. I just hope I'm not too excited. I would like to get some sleep tonight.

Oh, and congrats with the online check-in!!!
I could never get up and exercise before work. But then I work at 7 AM and am up by 5 AM every day so that means I'd have to be up by 4 AM to get any kind of workout in. As it is I go to bed by 9 PM (10 PM at the latest) to get up by 5 AM. I've been doing a little workout right after we put DS down for bed. It is cutting into the alone time with DH, but usually only a half an hour a night so it's not too bad. Plus with chasing DS around all day I don't need more than 1/2 hour extra workout. Chasing around active children is a workout in and of itself.

Thanks. I have to keep reminding myself to go with the flow. Hopefully I'll be able to do just that in WDW. Life is an adventure with a toddler and that adventure has it's ups and downs. Plus it's unpredictable. It's very, very fun though.
1 more day! We leave TOMORROW! In a little over 26 hours we will be boarding our flight!
I opted to work from home today so that I could avoid the 1 hour spent commuting. Plus I have my lunch break to work on packing/cleaning. I've already managed to get a lot of work done and vacuum the whole house. Man was there a lot of goldfish crackers smashed into my carpet.
This afternoon I plan on checking in for our flight and printing our boarding passes. I might also try to sneak off to the nail salon for a mani and a pedi. And I need to stop off at the shoe store to see if I can find DS some sandals or at least another pair of tennis shoes that do not fall off his feet. DS is at my mom's house for the day and I can't remember the house ever being this quiet. It's very strange.
