”Really……you are ALL named Lisa???”……… - Page 16 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

So much fun you 3 had!! And that cupcake you passed on? It had peanut butter in it, thats a GREAT source of protein, chocolate is full of antioxidants and the sugar would have given you a boost for your busy day--practically a healthy breakfast you passed up!!! (My DH says I can justify any carb, perhaps he's on to something there...)
Anyhoo--looking forward to the next installment--did you meet any of the celebrities from the movies?
Awesome, Awesome update!! Makes me wish we would have made it there one day for the events!
Although I am not a HUGE Star Wars fan - it was still alot of fun!!!

You three really got around!!! How many days was this trip? Seven? Eight? Esh! It sure feels like it was at least a week from all these pictures, but I vaguely remember you saying it was just a long weekend earlier...
BTW - I love R2MK!! I have never seen that before and damn he's cute! Wonder if he's out and about other times of the year (like say Sept when we're going )

R2MK is only out for Star Wars Weekends from what I understand...........and I didn't see him a few years ago when we went, so not sure how new he is............but YES he is damn cute! I wanted to bring him home with me!!!

Hahaha Me too! Ice cream as a vegetable. Ice cream comes from milk, milk comes from cows, cows eat grass, grass is vegetation. Voila - it's a vegetable.
Ahh! Such a great day! You got amazing pics of the parade and the characters! I would love to go to a Star Wars Weekend. I'm not a HUGE Star Wars fan...well I guess you could say I am. It's been a few years since I was super into it. Like 10. Yeah I was this cool little 3rd grader who was a Star Wars geek, along with my best friend at the time. I don't know as much as I did then, but I do enjoy it just as much! Okay, tangent over!
I'm so sad you've checked out! I have been absolutely LOVING this TR! The Lisa's are amazing! You guys are and have been having so much fun, I love it! I am definitely taking an all girls trip one day! I can't wait to hear the rest, and we still have the Photopass pics to look forward to! Hurry back!

Living out a childhood dream during my summer 2015 trip to WDW. Is it time to go back yet?
“All our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them." –Walt Disney
It is tradition that Magic Kingdom is always the last park to visit before leaving WDW, and the Lisa’s liked my tradition – so we went with it!
So we drove over to the TTC and parked the rental car and hopped on the monorail to Magic Kingdom!!!
Of course – we stopped for a quick peek in the Jewelry Store – we were trying to find a Thumper Chamilia Bead for our bracelets ~ but of course, none were to be found (I am still going to try to find one!!!). Lisa # 3 bought the carriage one for her daughter – and I purchased the Tigger one for myself (To remind me of 1) the awesome character interaction we had with Tigger at 1900 Park Fare and 2) to remind me that we RODE on the Tiger float in the AK Parade!!!!!). Happy with our purchases, we wandered down Main Street, in front of the castle and took more photos!!!
We had the BEST photopass photographer – her name was Pat! We told her that we wanted to do something different – so she took so many pics of us – and told us to be creative to try to get our picture on the castle for the Memories and You show – so we stood together and put our arms up to form a “M”……………….not sure if we made it onto the castle or not – but hey, it was fun working with Pat! I will give you a "few" of them - but will add more in another post!!
She even took some nice ones with a little “friend”!!!
Up next was Mickey’s Philharmagic………..you just can’t visit WDW and NOT go see Mickey’s Philharmagic!!!
After we checked the line for Haunted Mansion again………….still a pretty long wait ~ so we skipped it.
Some how we ended up in the Christmas shop………..hmmmm………..oh well – it made me think to purchase my Christmas ornament now (last year when I visited in July/August – they were sold out of ornaments!!! Couldn’t take that chance again!) and Lisa # 1 was able to get buttons from the marathon that her and her DH ran in January (they somehow missed those buttons then!) so it was a win win situation!
We stopped for a funnel cake snack (we all shared!) and a few more pics in front of my (oh, I mean “the”) castle!
Next up on the agenda was The Laugh Floor – LOVE that show each and every time!!! So stinkin’ cute!!! Thank God – we were never put up on the screen!!!
After the Laugh Floor, Lisa # 1’s family had entered the park, so we met up with them to say our good byes – as they would still have a few more days at WDW!
Then it was time to take that sad walk down Main Street…………..usually at this point, I am teary and asking my DH when our next trip will be………….BUT this time, I knew that I would be back in less than 6 weeks!!!! LIFE WAS GOOD for me at that moment!!!!
We took a few silly photos on Main Street!
Then of course ~ Lisa # 1 said we couldn’t leave WDW without saying good bye to Mickey – and the wait was only 5 minutes – so back in there we went (for the 3rd time this trip!!!) !!!
While waiting in line, all of a sudden, I hear someone say “It’s the Lisa’s!” – almost afraid to turn around, I did – and there was Brent & Liz again!!! They were literally right behind us, so we entered Mickey’s dressing room together – and let’s just say – this was the BEST, FUNNIEST, CRAZIEST character interaction with Mickey & Minnie!!!!!
We walked in to the area where Mickey was………….and Lisa # 3 SCREAMS out at the top of her lungs “Mickey & Minnie are BOTH here!!!!” ~ the poor character handler JUMPED a country mile!!!! She scared the you know what out of him!!! So then Mickey & Minnie backed away from her……….they probably thought “OH Dear – here comes that crazy chica again!!!”…………Lisa # 3 had to get on her knees to beg Mickey to sign her autograph book again for her daughter!!! It was just ABSOLUTE FUN!!! Lisa # 3 got to dance with Mickey while Minnie was not so sure about!
We each had our photos with both Mickey & Minnie ~ saying our good-byes, me reminding them that I will be back in a few weeks!
I had to show Mickey my “Super-star” pose!!! I thought Mickey was going to BUST a gut!!!
We then had a group photo done of just us…………
Then with Brent & Liz!!!!
Sadly, it truly was time to head out to the airport. We made it to the airport in plenty of time, checked our bags and was told our flight was on schedule, etc, etc. Went to grab some dinner and adult beverages (hey we still had a few more hours of vacation!!!) and about 25 minutes prior to departure time we headed to the gate……………..and lo and behold ~ there it was on the screen “Flight to Hartford, CT delayed 90 minutes!”……….are you KIDDING ME?????????? We could have spent another 90 minutes at Magic Kingdom????????? Oh well…………..we sat with everyone else………..there was some craziness going on in the terminal that evening – the gate next to us, all of a sudden they are running around everywhere – have the people waiting to board that plane come over to our gate – and they eventually bring a guy out in a wheel chair – and man – I don’t know what happened to him – but his poor legs looked like they were burnt or something – they were so inflamed and red – the medics came and took him away (he was alert the whole time, so seemed to be okay?)………..there were also a bunch of college kids have wheel chair races down the terminal…………all I could do was sit there and laugh!!!
So needless to say, we finally arrived back in Hartford, CT at approximately 12:30 a.m., waited for bags then had another hour drive home – so crawled into bed around 3ish – then up at 6 am to go to work!!! The life of a working mom!!!!
I will be back to add Photopass photos highlighting the trip and my final thoughts………….TIW vs DDP!!!
Thanks so much for following along!!!
