As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Looked like a great lunch and glad you and AJ had some good quality time together! Funny, that your younger ones would not enjoy BOG for dinner as they must be really finicky eaters! I guess, that's why my parents loved taking me out to dinner, when I was younger as I was always a good eater! Love my food!

Sounds like a very nice lunch at BOG and some enjoyable wandering of the park.
I actually enjoyed walking around the park, doing nothing.

LOVE the pic of you and the frog!
The best part of the photo was that I got Mr. Cool Guy to pose for a silly photo.

They have a huge appetite but they are not adventurous at all. Even my husband doesn't stray too much from his familiar dishes.

Just got caught up with your last few updates. Sorry you're going through a rough patch with your son and your finances. I'm sure most of us can relate in some way to what you're going through and hope that things get easier for you soon. It must have been so much fun to experience the MK with just you and your son! Sometimes it's just so much easier when it's just the two of you

Thanks! It was fun having that time with just one of my boys. It was even better that he's the more easy-going of the 4.

We did. I know there will come a time (sooner than I want) when he won't want to spend that much time with us.

When we got back to the room the guys were back from the pool and were having some lunch. Arben had been a good daddy and had bought something from the gift shop, to prepare at the villa.
The room was cleaned and the mousekeeper had left us a lovely note. Spreading some Disney magic. Gotta love it!
Our friend left on the bed.
AJ and I showered and then we all settled down for some relaxing time. Well relaxing time translated to nap time for all the boys.
Adriel being a baby.
After a while I started getting ready and then tried to get them moving. They were very slow, to the point that I just decided to skip our first FP+, which was for 3:35 - 4:35. We were meeting some friends, who'd be arriving at the park after 4.
Some pictures I took while we were leaving. These were with my phone so they're not the best quality. I left my camera back in the room. I know...
Thank goodness this wasn't our trek to get to the room.
Our door
Selfie with mommy
Adriel's new bracelet. He got it at AK and it was delivered at the resort that day.
We arrived at Epcot at about 4:15. We met up with our friends, they were also arriving. I then realized we could make on to SE for our FP+. They also had a fastpasss we headed there together.
I rode with Abniel. After answering our questions, it was time to see our future. Well let me tell you, my future isn't looking that bright. In our future, Abniel and I go skiing. Well, turns I fall and break my arm. What the heck! Not even in the future am I athletic? Abniel had a good laugh at my future misfortune. But in the end, the ride taught me something... stay away from the slopes.
After we got out, we all headed to the Visa M&G. Our friends both have Disney Visas and they were going to give us one of the photos. When it was our turn, we went to pose with Mickey Mouse. And let's just say this was the friendliest Mickey I've ever encountered. This Mickey was very touchy; hugging me a lot, patting me, putting his arm around me. As we were leaving he gave me another long, strong hug. Thank goodness Minnie wasn't there or she would've been jealous.
After fleeing from the Visa M&G ( LOL), we headed towards TT. This was the first time we've ridden since the refurb. Our friends also rode via stand-by line.
The boys loved designing their cars. And they loved it even more when their car beat mom and dad's car. Little stinkers!
The boy's car
Our car
We liked the ride! It's not a favorite but we had fun.
Afterwards we stopped to see some of the cars.
Next we rode Figment and then the kids had a little fun.
Not too cool after all
The guys had FP+ for Mission Space, while I had one for Living with the Land (a first for me). AJ wasn't felling MS so he decided to tag along with me. At this time we separated from our friends, as they had other things to do. We planned on meeting up later so they could give us our photo.
As AJ and I arrived at LwtL, the wait time was posted at 0 minutes. Great, another wasted FP+. Anyways, we rode and I thought AJ wouldn't enjoy the ride but I was wrong. We both enjoyed it very much and learned quite a few things.
We caught up with the rest of the gang and started heading over to WS. We had an adr later on at Rose & Crown. Since it was a bit early, we explored the UK pavilion.
We were all starving so I went to see if they would take us early. They did. After a short wait we were seated, at the upper part of the patio.
Arben, AJ, Abniel and I got he Fish 'n' Chips, Adriel got pasta.
Food was good! When I first saw the plate of food I thought it was a small portion and wouldn't get full. I was wrong, it was very filling.
Or friends would be waiting for us in Norway, so when we were finished we headed over there. After they gave us our photo, we said our goodbyes. They were staying for Illuminations, but since we had seen it the other night, we decided to beat the crowds and head out of the park.
We took some photos on the way out.
We got on a bus quite quickly and arrived shortly thereafter at Kidani. It was lights out early.
