As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

Moving on with the current of the years.

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

I've given up on my summer TR. With the boards closing, i'm not motivated. I did join up over at pixiedustlane, though.
If I ever fulfill my FtW dreams, I'll travel over to the Dis Boards (an appropriate name for this snarky Disney hang-out) for advice.
KimmyAnn sorry to hear you are not going to finish your TR you started it with such a magical room upgrade. Over on DisBoards I tend to keep to just the camping forum. Less drama and bickering. Advice is either solid or pure leg pulling mostly just a good group of peoples.

Brought the mail last night when I came in from The Good Mommy and Daddy Club and there was DISNEY MAIL. When I opened the box expecting to find our MAGIC BANDS, what I got was a surprise. Instead of my Orange and Lucille's Blue there was only MINE. Jumped on the phone and explained our problem to Phil who checked everything out but was at a loss for why only mine had been shipped. I had him check on our second reservation as well and all looks okay for that but he did find out that the shipping date would have them arrive on or after our departure day. Happily they will be waiting for us at The Reception Outpost when we check in.
Hmmmm, it seems like I recently read in someone else’s PTR that they only received one of their two magic bands. Another glitch in Disney’s “stellar” computer system!
Yes it was as according to Phil I had asked for two At any rate condition corrected.

It sounds as if your plans are really coming together. I love the name of your van and good for you for learning how to do some of the maintenance yourself. So you are surprising The Girls on your destination. I love it and I know they will be happily surprised on your arrival in the nice warm climate.

No we are mot telling the girls where we are going beyond we are going ADVENTURING . A Big Adventure and little else. She loves the warmer weather while Katie likes it cooler. Hopefully something for all in store. Just hope Katie Katie doesn't decide to eat another Mini Tree Climbing Alligator this trip.

Not sure they understand Florida and they do pick their ears up when we say Disney even though they haven't been as of yet. They do UNDERSTAND, ADVENTURING, Could be as we got them on a Sunday and on Friday they went for their first ADVENTURE trip. Most of the time like Wookie and Maggie before them, they listen to every word I say and do what they darn well please.
Departure day is one week from today and the excitement is starting to grow. Both of the Girls have started to go and try to knock their leashes off the hook we keep them on every time I bring out to the coach, some of the boxes that keep appearing . Katie got very upset the other day when she was told we still had 10 days before we leave. She spent the afternoon moping on her mat hugging her pillows and covering herself with them. For those that don't know a touch of back story. In August of 2016 Katie and her sister Sky came to live with us. They found us on a Sunday. Five days later on Friday we had plans to go ADVENTURING at a local Camp Ground their Cheeseburger In Paradise Themed Weekend. Well outside of the ride they adjusted to this just fine. Riding around in a Golf Cart is fun. Everyone attention to us paying attention to us is a good thing. Mugging Daddy when he tries to sit on the couch is fun. Using Daddy as a Maypole while he tries to pick up after us is a great game. So from the start they love to go ADVENTURING. So much so that when we take them
out thru the garage to see the vet they think it's ADVENTURE time and head straight for the coach.
