As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

First, I missed some Photopass photos from my walk through New Fantasyland…
Back to the regularly scheduled programming...
After my adventure on the Carousel of Progress I headed over to one of my favorites, the Peoplemover! It’s just always such a lovely break in the day and a neat perspective on the park. After my quick ride my Space Mountain FP+ (around noonish) was ripe so I headed off to take a trip to space!
these little green guys are always a highlight of the tour
By the time I had accomplished all of this I had decided it was about time for lunch as I was getting hungry again! I’m not typically a huge Cosmic Ray’s fan so I headed out towards Fantasyland to investigate my choices. They had interesting mac and cheese options but since I just had it yesterday I opted to keep going. The flatbread at Pinocchio Village Haus looked good so I went on in! This is becoming a new favorite QS for me, they have really stepped it up in the last few years!
Ended up changing my mind to a meatball sub with a side of apples and ice water by the time I got to the ordering podium. Easily found a table and just relaxed and leisurely enjoyed my meal. The sandwich kind of fell apart so I had to run and grab silverware but overall a very tasty quick service meal!
Finished at about the right time to head to my Mine Train Fastpass+. The ride was very cute but there is no chance you could get me to wait in those crazy long lines to ride it… I only waited about 5-10 minutes with my FP+ so that was definitely a good call to grab, but I’ll probably stick to my other favorites in the future.
It looks like at some point I took a Philharmagic break as well. I love this show every time and it’s a great mid-day break!
I wanted to get a snack and the caramel apples were looking pretty tasty so I grabbed one of those - unfortunately it was poorly cut and I couldn't finish it I totally should have known it was way too big of a snack but a nice cool apple sounded great on this toasty day!
I headed off towards Main Street for some shopping and the next adventure of the day…
Finally caught up! First the flying fish meal looked delish! I think my husband would love that meal! Also I love the dress. I use stitch fix too and my stylist is so on point with my clothes! I love COP we do it every trip now and it's so relaxing Can't wait to read more about your trip!
A nice time at MK with some great attractions and a good meal! Sorry about the problem with the apples!

I'm not really sure what she did, but it was just kind of a mess

I always feel like that when I read trip reports, but it didn't feel like I was accomplishing much while I was there!

They have really stepped up their Magic Shot game!
While I was browsing Main Street I was really looking for additional Pandora charms, still trying to see if the Epcot ball had been released, but I believe I had no success. I was also heading towards the front to meet my friend Jason who was on his way over to hang out
We had met in 2008 (wow so long ago now!) when my soon to be college roommate joined me and my mom on a pre-college Disney trip! The three of us were dining at the Sci Fi when these two gentlemen decided to hitchhike My mom eavesdropped on them wanting a simple burger and recommended to just order one (not on the menu) because we did without a problem… We got to chatting and spent the majority of the week hanging out with them, Josh falling for Mel a bit Josh worked there at the time and Jason moved down shortly after to do his first College Program. He stayed on after his and was still there when I did mine the following year! What’s even more funny? He worked with my roommate and they kind of dated for a little while! (The roommate that would be joining me later this evening!) What a small Disney world! Jason has been working at Disney ever since though! Anyway back to the story…
I worked my way to the front and found Jason shortly after he entered the park. It was about time for my Fastpass+ for Festival of Fantasy Parade. Jason didn’t have a FP+ so we kind of just plopped down on the other side in front of Town Hall on the curb. Honestly, there was a lot of waiting involved and we had no problem getting this spot the same time as the FP+ window was open, so I’m not sure I’d use one for it again. It was hot, hot, HOT waiting because the sun was certainly beating down. I ran and got us waters at one point, but mostly we just sat and caught up for a little while as we waited. Finally the parade got down there around 3:20.
Or so we thought! There was quite a lull between the “start” and the actual floats… so much so that an ice cream cart came through
And my random iPhone pics of the parade as well…
We both loved the parade! I am still a little bitter that they removed my favorite, Aurora, but was happy to see such awesome Peter Pan representation which is my all time favorite Disney movie! I do think we had a great spot too with how my pictures turned out It was nice to be able to see the front of the floats so clearly etc!
After all that lovely sweating in the sun we decided it was time to head back to OKW to relax.
