We Turned Her Into A Disney Lovin', Character Huggin', Thrill Ridin' Girl! COMPLETED 7/11 - Page 12 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Day 2 Part 4 Hollywood Studios. What Does Asher Think of ToT? Will He Get On RnRC? How Does Our Night End? 1/30
I have no pics for this post. Sorry!
We are sitting in the elevator and I am on the very end of the row, the left side when you are sitting down. Asher is next to me and Jamie next to him. The top row. We have a full elevator. The ride starts and Asher is now very stressed out. He is definitely not my thrill seeker. He has always been cautious about everything but when he found out we were going to Disney World he immediately started talking about how he was now tall enough to ride everything and he was so excited about that. We knew that if he didn't try it he would regret it later so we didn't want him to back out. The first part of the ride he thinks is really cool. Then we get to the part with the drops. He had both our hands and we told him when it was going to happen so he would not be surprised. The whole time he asked, "is it almost over? Is it almost over?" So he wasn't too fond of that ride. Then there is the whole thing of, Jamie and I have not been on it since they refurbed it with more drop sequences. Every time we thought it was over, it wasn't. We thought that was pretty awesome but Asher did not. We got off the ride and he said he was glad he did it but he would never do it again. We told him he did not have to but we were sure he would change his mind eventually. He said, "think again guys". We stopped in the store because he wanted something to say he survived the ToT but couldn't find anything like that so he got a pin to add to his pin collection. Happy with his selection we then got in line for RnRC. While in line I started feeling bad. I have really bad allergies and I get sinus infections, bronchitis, and pneumonia very easily. I had been taking my allergy meds regularly and had also be taking theraflu. I did not take any in the park that day though and my sinus' were rebelling against me. While I am quickly beginning to feel miserable Asher is getting more and more nervous about this ride. It was going to be his first roller coaster other than Goofy's Barnstormer. A big difference. With the way he was getting worked up his stomach starts hurting and we know that it is only nerves. He says he no longer wants to ride and by this time we are in the building. The next chance we get we get out of line. We told him we were so proud of him for going on ToT and that we knew that the next time we come to WDW he would be ready for some more of the big rides. To that he says, "I sure hope it's not going to be that long until we come back!" He then says he wants to go on Star Tours one more time before we leave so off we go to Star Tours. It was a walk on for this ride. I was very happy about that because now I am very much wishing I was in the bed and medicined up. We have another great ride on that and I tell the guys that I need to head back to the resort. They are both ready to go so we say goodbye to DHS.
Once back at the resort I quickly get ready for bed and take some meds while Jamie and Asher go to get refills in our mugs. Wanda is on the computer uploading some pics and Selah is asleep. Jamie and Asher get back with the drinks and Wanda tells Asher that mousekeeping did not take the tips again so we make another plan for the next day. Shortly after they get back I fall asleep with hopes of feeling much better the next day.
Up Next: Day 3 Epcot Part 1. Under the Sea and Around the World You Would Think a Bathroom Would Be Easy to Find.
Great update! I can't blame Asher for changing his mind about RnRC. I have never even gotten up the nerve to get in line. Sorry to hear that you weren't feeling well. Hopefully the meds and the rest will do the trick and you'll feel better the next morning.

Great Photopass pictures, especially the ones of Asher fighting Darth Vader! Also love the photos of Selah with Belle and the one of the two of you walking together.
Good for Asher for riding ToT! My boys, especially Jacob, are thrill-seekeers, but even they really don't like to ride ToT. I hope he'll get up the nerve for RnR -- it's such a great ride!
Sorry you weren't feeling well. Glad you were able to call it a night and get some rest.
Subscribing. Sounds like a great trip so far! Love the pics of both the kids. Selah looks so happy in some of them, and it sounds like you have had some awesome moments with her.
Asher looks so happy! I just have loved seeing his ear to ear smile in every pic.
Your whole trip has made me have the same expression on my face. Can't wait to hear more.

All caught up. Sorry about the happenings at the parade. I find that sometimes you luck out and are surrounded by nice people at parades, but other times you end up by people who just want to push to the front. I'm glad Asher decided to go on ToT, but sorry he didn't like it. Sounds like a good day at DHS all around.
Great group of photopass pictures! Asher did really well sticking it out through ToT. I'm sorry you started to feel so bad and hope a good night's sleep will improve things.
Great photopass pictures. I don't blame Asher for not liking TOT. It's not one of my favorite rides. I find the drop sequences annoying and just want it stop bouncing me up and down.
