Is Belle a Disney Character? September 2015 PTR - Page 11 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Great plans! I know what you mean about opening your spread sheets and just looking at them. I do that ALL the time! Just going over it in my head helps to see how each day will flow and I find that I frequently make little changes here and there to adjust things. Plus...day dreaming about Disney is the next best thing to being there!

Things are looking great. Love the fact you still have the Dessert party as a surprise for Mom. Hopefully she doesn't get curious & look at MDE. Congrats on your spreadsheet - love when hard work pays off. Happy dance for you both for being PIF.

I have it all pretty colors and coordinated, so it makes me happy I find whenever I open it that I end up trying to change something!

I don’t mind if she does find out! Then I wouldn’t have to hold it in any longer She went on MDE to pay for her portion but must not have explored it because she still doesn’t know!

I’m starting to think that I may be the one that wants/needs the breaks!!
Not a lot has been happening on the Mom & Me Do Disney front. I made one change and that was from Fulton's Crab Shack to Narcoossee's. I expressed to Mom that after leaving property, I really didn't want to deal with having to drive to DTD and park there, so she was ok with me changing it. This will also put us on the monorail if we do decide to go to Epcot that evening at all.
I haven't talked about my trip with Chryselle and her boys much, probably because it's only a weekend, but it's coming up soon so we can get to that now!
First thing this past Friday, I received a text from Chryselle with the following:
They got their magic bands!! I was going to use my green magic band but for the sake of difference I think I'll switch to use my pink one instead.
It's 17 days until Disney in Chryselle's world, but I believe she is actually leaving one day before I will be coming. Her and her two boys, Keegan (15) and Jacob (11 or 12? sorry I'm terrible! ), will be driving down from Syracuse, NY. Chryselle is the only driver and she plans on going the entire way in one swoop. I'm a bit worried about her, but she's very confident in making it the whole way without an overnight stop, so I will just text her the whole time and make sure everything is going as planned.
Arrival
She plans on arriving on August 21st, and going to one of the water parks with the boys, letting them go off on their own and passing out herself on a tube in a lazy river. This is just what she tells me
I will be leaving for Orlando after work that day, so I plan on getting there around 9 or 10pm (a lot of extra cushion time in there but I don't want to rush). I'll see where they are at that time (I think she said they may be going to DTD that night?) and meet up. Our one full day will be dedicated to Epcot...
Our One Day Together - Epcot
The boys picked Epcot for our day together and Chryselle and I did not argue them one bit. Before Chryselle even had her Disney trip officially booked, we decided that if it was to happen, that I would come, and that I would buy them lunch or dinner at Teppan Edo. So our day is as follows:
I'm guessing a rope drop early morning? Most likely with these fellow DA's
Mission: SPACE FP+
Soarin' FP+
Teppan Edo Lunch
Character Spot FP+
The boys also expressed that they really want to pin trade, so after we are done with Futureworld, we have plans to pick up some margaritas from La Cava (or at least I do! ), and then make our way around the countries letting the boys pin trade!
We have no plans for dinner so it will most likely be quick service, and I'm not sure if they'll want to watch Illuminations or not, so I'm just going to go with the flow of whatever they want to do. I'm the one intruding on their vacation afterall!!
What is amazing though is that because Chryselle and I have our accounts connected on MDE, and our vacations are so close to each other, all of her Photopass photos will show on my Memory Maker. I can't wait for them to see just how many photos they will get!! Can you tell how psyched I am that I get two trips worth of photos for the price of one?! Bargain shopper here.
See Ya Real Soon
Sunday Chryselle and the boys have plans to go to MK, but I will either be doing PP meets or just heading home. I only purchased a one day Epcot ticket to meet up with them, so our time will have to end It will then be a long 4 months until I get to see my BFF and my favorite boys again
But at that time, only 3 weeks until I will get to see Mom and be back in the bubble!
On the current day-to-day front, I had to get glasses after an eye appointment I had this past weekend. They came in last night so today is my first full day with them. I really like their look and their style, but I am hoping that this slight bout of vertigo will pass sooner than later!
I've also been working out at the gym in the mornings, and eating following my brother's nutrition plan. Everything has been fantastic and I'm feeling great I've actually looked at menus for ALL the restaurants that I have booked in Disney, and all the quick service locations in Epcot for foods to have to continue following the plan. It's actually going to be very easy to stick to it!
In other news, I've renammed my car... But you'll have to wait until the package I've ordered arrives for me to tell you her new name and why...
That one day will go so fast but it's definitely cool that you can at least meet up with Chryselle & the boys! Im sure they will love pin trading as well!
Great plans! I can't believe your friend is planning on driving from Syracuse to Orlando! It's an 18 hr drive from Buffalo. It has to be about that, or more from Syracuse! Skip the texting! Very dangerous! She should have you on speaker phone! Pixies that her trip goes well and there are no problems.
You will be happy with the change to Narcoossees!! The food is delicious and it is a very beautiful atmospherre. How fun that you get to meet up with your friend and her boys!! I hope the boys get get some great pins and you get some great margaritas!!
