As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

I'm trying to catch up here. Just finished your TL day. Crush n gusher was awesome. Wish I would've gotten to ride more than once. Love all of you waterpark pics. We were only able to find a few photopass photographers at TL. Your meatloaf looks incredible. I'll have to remember that for our next trip. Sorry about your meltdown. There was quite a few of those on our trip with 8 of us touring together, but funny enough I only remember one or two. Can't wait to read about your AK day.
I'm all caught up now. I wonder what happened to the tracks at EE? I've never tried Flametree, but that's really expensive food. Sounds like you had a very nice time at MK and were able to surprise the boys with the dessert party. We've done a couple of times and really enjoyed it. The last time was in 2012, but that time it seemed like they weren't refilling the desserts. Did you notice that?
Great updates! It is awesome when your favorite ride has no wait... glad you got to ride EE twice in a row! That is an expensive meal at Flametree. We save a few bucks by drinking our water bottles instead of ordering drinks at lunch, but still we spend $45-$50 on each QS meal for a family of four.
The dessert party looks like fun... and yummy! We have yet to try it, though we decided we should after walking by the event last month and noticing all of the amazing treats!

Glad the boys enjoyed the Dessert Party. I like that you made plans to include some things that you would like (Enchanted Tales). Moms have to have fun too! You got some nice photo pass pics with the family.
A real fun night at the MK! Glad you enjoyed the dessert party and view Wishes from there, without having to stake out a place an hour or so before! I always went to the Rose Garden usually when I could for a good view of Wishes and not too crowded.

Sounds like a fun day at AK! I'm not all that thrilled with any of the counter service meals in that park but $88 seems like a lot for lunch! That's one of the reasons why we choose the regular meal plan or counter service meal plan because we don't want to think about how much the food is costing us while we're on vacation. Glad you enjoyed your evening at MK and that the boys liked the Wishes Dessert Party! Looking forward to hearing about your lunch in the Castle!
Whew I had fallen quite a bit behind! TL and DQ are both highly stimulating places - both in one day I'm surprised your whole family didn't have a meltdown! It can be a lot to be in WDW What a great surprise for the family with the dessert party! Looked like a lot of fun

Great evening at MK! Glad you all enjoyed the sweets and view from the dessert party!
Thanks!

As I said, it was a cute ride but nothing like I was expecting. I think as I keep riding it, I'll like it more.

Oh my word, that meatloaf... I think about it and my mouth just waters. It was so good. I highly recommend the place.

We still talk about the most expensive CS meal ever.
The desserts were refilled often. But I was expecting more variety of desserts. They had quite a few, but some were more of the same.

If I'm not mistaken, I think I only bought 3 sodas. Arben and I drank from our water bottles.

Yes, this time I planned some things for me too. After all, I did make this trip happen.

This trip there were quite a few things for momma. The boys just had to go with it.

I've never watched from the Rose Garden. It's nice to watch the fireworks from different places, you get to see a different perspective.

Yes, I came to regret the decision of not getting the dining plan. I was constantly thinking about prices and budget. Not the best thing to be doing while on vacation.

Yeah, I'm kind of surprised it was me that had the meltdown. I was totally expecting Adriel to have one, as sometimes he can act like babyish.

It was a great night. Arben was so shocked that I had pulled this off.
Sounded like a great evening at MK! I though about doing the Dessert party. I just have read mixed reviews, so decided against it. I don't even know if they are doing while we are there in October, to think about it.
I am loving all you PP pics. Making me excited to get as many as possible when we are there. They all look great!

I had told my family that I was determined to get my money's worth with the MM. I think it's really great for longer trips like mine.
Worst trip reporter EVER! But in my defense, this past month has been tough.
Adriel has been giving me some trouble in school. He's having a hard time with exams and quizzes. What he studies at home isn't translating well at the time of taking the exam. I'm reaching the end of the road here and I don't know what else to do. It's sad to see your son's grades going down. I'm considering getting some tests done on him to see if there are any factors that are contributing to this.
Also, there's been lots of stress at home because of finances. This has led to some tense situations with Arben.
I'm trying to stay positive and see the light at the end of the tunnel, but sometimes it's very hard. I know there are people out there that have it worse than me, so that's what keeps me pushing forward.
I promise I'll have an update up this week. Thanks for sticking around.
