”Really……you are ALL named Lisa???”……… - Page 11 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

There is absolutely NOTHING better than an all-girls trip! What an amazing time you are having.
DH and I took two of our DGrDS (one graduated HS and the other Kindergarten) and one DSinL one summer. We were invited to do the Family Fun Parade in the MK (which is now sadly gone). What an awesome time we had with that!
Sounds like you all had an amazing time! I'm soooo jealous that you got to be in the parade, it looks like so much fun!! I think I might have to start planning a WDW girls getaway soon!

What a wonderful day! The parade sounds awesome--great photos! I bet it is a fabulous memory! I'm so glad you got to see Fantasmic! We've missed it for several years now--the waiting is too much!
Finally all caught up! Looks like the 3 Lisa's are having a wonderful time! And how awesome that you got to be in the parade at AK. I'm sure that was the highlight of your trip. And look at all the characters you got to meet!!
Oh my word! The frog/toad incident is what I have been worrying about! They scare the you know what out of me! We are leaving tomorrow for the Beach Club and I am so excited to be that close to Epcot, but I don't want those things jumping on me!! I am loving your TR... it is getting me through this day that is just DRAGGING!!!
Jessica
Hopefully they will be nice to you and won't sneak up on you in the night!!! I am about to put bells on my shoes for the next trip!!! And thanks for following along!

Rise & Shine very early!!!! We had 7:45 am ADR’s at Chef Mickey’s!!! So after basically a “nap” we were up and about and loving the fact that we had the rental car ~ which allowed us probably a good extra 30-45 minutes of sleep!!! Plus with the TIW card, it was FREE valet parking at Contemporary!!
We arrived at Chef Mickey’s basically on time………..to meet up with Lisa # 1’s family (her mom, step-father, sister, brother-in-law, and nephew) again. We were going to have breakfast with them and spend some time at MK today together.
We were brought to our table almost immediately (well, after our lovely group photo!)…………and they sat us at a very LARGE round table which was quite comfortable for all 8 of us and it was nice to be able to see each other to “converse”………..although at that hour……..not too much “conversing” until there was much Diet Coke and coffee consumption!!!
Again, Nicolas (nephew) was very excited to see us…………but I think he was MORE excited to see the characters (can’t blame him………I was too!)!!
Of course, we all ate till our bellies were about to POP! I do have to say here that again………(I haven’t been happy with Chef Mickey’s the last few times we have eaten there) I was not so crazy about the breakfast options here ~ it’s the same ol’ choices ~ and it seems as though it takes FOREVER for the characters to circulate and then they spend little time with you……….just my opinion……….but I prefer some of the other breakfasts more.
Some of the food (total cost for 8ppl with TIW discount including tip = $228.94):
Of course we met all our friends…………
Mickey:
Minnie:
Goofy:
Pluto:
Donald:
After breakfast, we decided to leave the car there and head to MK via monorail (I would have preferred to walk, but Mom (Lisa #1’s mom that is) would not have been able to handle the walk, so off we went on the monorail) ~ which is always a nice ride!
First stop was a GREAT family photo op with the BIG cheese!!!
This is where it gets a bit “Crazy”………..8 ppl entering MK together………..Mom’s camera had broke during breakfast ~ so she wanted to stop in the gift shop to check for new camera…….next thing we know ~ we are ALL shopping for quite some time!!! Not a biggie………BUT it is just funny trying to keep 8 ppl – each with a different agenda – together!
Finally ~ we enter onto Main Street together – and stop for some photopass photo ops (Sorry - going to have to upload and resize the Photopass photos at the end of this report!)!
Next up – per Nicolas’ request……..POTC!!! Walked right on!!! Sorry, no photos.
From Pirates, we headed for Splash next!!! We purposely waited to ride Splash to be able to fill the car with just the 8 of us……….well, that’s what the plan was…………Mom was in a wheelchair, so we went via the handicap entrance – we got up to the area where they take us in ~ Mom’s not feeling so well and has decided not to go on Splash ~ and Step-father is going to stay with her! So I ask the CM what the remaining 6 of us should do as none of us where handicapped……….he tells us to continue through anyway! So of course we do………..and at the next CM, he looks a bit puzzled……..as NONE of us are coming in a wheel chair………..I tell him – “that other dude told us to come through, we had another person in wheel chair – but she can’t go on now, she’s not feeling well” and he gives me this look like I am CRAZY…….But it all turned out fine…………he was just trying to have fun with me as I was stressed about feeling like I was being a “rule breaker” (I was NOT going to let Lisa #3’s bad ways rub off on me!)…..and we had FUN with each other with our “attitudes”!!! Think he met his “match” that morning!!! Don’t mess with Lisa # 2!!!
Me with the "Dude"!!!
So this is Nicolas’ first time on Splash………….he is on there with us (along with those other 2 strangers in the front row!) although you can’t see him as he buried himself into his father!!!! And of course, Lisa #3 (who is a CHEEK-IN!!!) looks like she is trying to make out with me!!!
We didn’t even get that wet ~ which was perfectly FINE with me!!! I really don’t like to get “soaked” and have to walk around like that………..let’s just say a few years ago, I ended up with the $15 Mickey undies and a new outfit…….as I was soaked to the bone!!!
After Splash……….it was off to Fantasyland!!!
Some how, along the way, we (the Lisa’s) got separated from everyone else……….and we found this guy!!
We all met back up together at Peter Pan’s Flight!!! LOVE this ride!!! And again, it was quick and easy (with the wheel chair!)……….well until the ride suddenly stopped……….and didn’t move for quite a while (maybe 15 minutes?) – come to find out, someone apparently lost their flip flop and it was stuck in the moving belt thing that you stand on!!! YIKES!!! All fixed and we were off to Neverland!!!
We obviously weren't the ones who lost the flip flop!!!
Next up was It’s a Small World! “It’s a small world after all……….” oh man – that song gets stuck in my head every time!!! But it is still amazing to see all the detail throughout the ride!
After IASW….Mom, sister and that gang all decided that they were done for the day and they headed back to their rental (it was barely noon at this point) and we stayed for a bit longer at MK by ourselves!
And of course, couldn't resist a photo op with this cute little friend:
We rode Snow White’s Scary Adventures……..making sure that we got that in, as none of us know when they are planning to close it and wanted to make sure we got in one last ride……….it’s certainly not one of my favorites, but hey – it’s Disney and when anything disappears, it’s sad!
After Snow White we started feeling a little hungry (I know, we are eating a lot…….BUT we are moving so much………gotta keep that fuel going!!!) so we popped into Cosmic Rays and shared some sandwiches……a burger and a turkey wrap (with 3 beverages = $24.98) and had a perfect view of the castle while eating!
The above was our view from lunch!!!
After lunch, we checked to see if we could at least see Rapunzel and Flynn – as we could CLEARLY see the line (must have been 100 ppl waiting!), but they were not out there yet………I just wanted a glimpse!!!
But we did find this guy instead!!!
Then we found these fun friends!!!!
And we took a peek at this area............which was very bittersweet........
And can you believe, we stopped back at the Emporium on the way out (although this makes much more sense to do on the way out of the park!) and we each were able to make some purchases for souvies! I was able to stop in the Firehouse and purchase DH and new Fire polo shirt! Lisa # 3 bought Lisa # 1 and I each the 40th frame as a gift for us!!!
Oh yeah - and I couldn't resist this photo op for my hubbie!
Up next: Time for a BREAK!!!!

Sorry it has taken me so long to update..............
Things have been a bit crazy around here............trying to get ready for the next trip (this TR WILL be done before then!!!) and DD does have a torn meniscus, so we have had to make some adjustments in our schedules, and are moving a bit slower than normal, but we will get thru it!!!
I have also just received the Photo pass CD...........so instread of trying to back track (I have learned so much from doing this first time TR.......and oen of the main things is that I will wait until the cd comes in to start posting!) I am going to add the favorites at the end............well try to "limit" the favorites..............have I mentioned - or have you noticed that we LOVE photos?!?!
So hopefully I haven't lost those of you who were following along..........I am determined to finish up this week!

What a great day, looked like a lot of fun at Chef Mickey's, I agree that I enjoy many of the other breakfasts better but who can resist the FAB 5 all together.
