As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!
Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

Oh, Marnie... you had me laughing and laughing at the pic of Colin waving to the monorail!

Colin was again waving to the monorail, and lost his balance. Thankfully the server was there to grab him The only good experience we had with her!

What is it with Colin and falling off chairs?! At least she earned a bit of her tip by saving him from a boo-boo!
And how wonderful that he got to ride on his green monorail. I always think of him when I see a green monorail go past!
More please...

Re: The Grand Fiesta 10th Anniversary Trip Report - THREAD 2 Day 3 Done Updated 9/15
Day 7 – Thursday, August 17th – Who forgot the ponchos? Another Magical Meal, and a great circus
We finally were able to sleep in this morning. Nothing was really calling us first thing, so we actually took our time. We finally roused about 8:15, and got ready to go. Matt went to the BC Marketplace for breakfast. However it wasn’t the best use of CS credits. Here you only got one item, plus a drink. Alexa got a chocolate chip muffin, I got a yogurt and granola mix, Colin got a bagel, and Matt got a croissant sandwich. Along with some juice, milk, and coffee, that completed the meal. I bet it couldn’t have been more than $15 for 4 CS credits. Don’t use them for breakfast here
We were thru the IG just after 9 and headed for the Land Pavilion. Colin is still too short for Soarin’, so Alexa and I rode that while Matt took Colin on the Living with the Land ride (Colin’s favorite)!
Next up with the Living Seas, with the obligatory pictures in front first
There was already a line for Turtle Talk, so first we walked around the area to see some of the exhibits. We came upon the Stingrays, and watched them for a while. It was weird, as they would slide up on the vertical wall, so one of their fins was outside of the water.
Then we walked around the Nemo play area and checked out those fish.
Now it was time for Turtle Talk. And boy, was it PACKED! Me and Matt ended up standing up against the left side wall But another great time as usual.
We went back to the play area, and took some more shots (and let the kids run around).
Then we went up to see the manatees. So cute!! There wasn’t a show going on, and they were just relaxing at the bottom.
Next up, to the main tank to see what was out and about. The dolphin show I think had just ended, but there were still in the tank and having fun with the “people on the other side”. It was great and they came right over and basically posed for pictures (and played around)! This is the first time we’ve ever experienced anything like this.
After a fun filled time at the Living Seas, it was time to move on. As we were leaving, we bumped into Nemo and the Living Coral. Colin was a bit apprehensive about taking a picture with them (I think the coral scared him) but he cooperated in the end.
We headed on toward Figment to take a ride thru him. Again, this is one that Alexa would never go on (due to the stink smell) but she must have grown out of that because she was running for the ride! We played around in the ImageStation for a bit after the ride, and sent home some email pictures. Matt had wanted to get the kids faces put onto a glass piece (laser etch). The CM tried (and I mean tried) to get a good picture of them both, first both together, and then separately, but no dice So much for that souvenir! Matt was on a hunt for a new mousepad (since he ruined the Disney one I had gotten on the last trip). He found one with Figment on it, so $8 lighter we were heading out the door.
Alexa was begging to go to Club Cool, so away we went. I looked up at the sky at this point and was thinking, gee, it looks like it’s going to rain a lot earlier today than it has been (usually late afternoon). Of course, we didn’t bring the ponchos
It was a quick trip to Club Cool, as a lot of the drinks were not running (I’d say usually half of the side wasn’t working). No matter, as I didn’t really want that stuff sloshing around in my tummy After exiting CC (and finding a puddle to slosh our feet in so that we could get rid of the sticky stuff), we were looking for a place to have lunch. We just decided on the Cantina de San Angel, and went to find a table. We got a Plato Combinacion, Tacos al Carbon, and a Plato del Nino. I got 3 churros, and I think a large soda and 2 bottled waters (the receipt is not descriptive). We used 3 CS credits for probably around $30 worth of food. A good value
As we were sitting eating lunch, the skies opened up. And I mean they really opened up Thankfully we had a table that had an umbrella on it, but we were still wet. It really wasn’t pleasant That’s what you get when you forget the ponchos It rained for at least 30 minutes if not longer. At that point, we had finished lunch and were tired of waiting so we just left. It was still raining, but it was getting lighter and lighter. By the time we made it back to the BC, it had stopped completely!
Coming Up Next.........Another great dinner, and a Circus
