As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Finally getting a chance to catch up on TRs, Maci, and loving yours. All your yummy meals and FABs are really making me miss Disney! I'll be reading carefully because we had overlapping trips here, too! And add me to the list of admirers of that cute sparkly dress!

I slept horribly the previous night so it was a rough start to the morning. I woke up every few hours overheating and having some crazy dreams when I finally got up after a few extra snoozes I was happy to see the floor in the bathroom remained dry. I drank some water and got dressed and ready for the day.
I got to the bus stop to a crowd and was ready to hop on any bus that came because this morning was Olivia's! There were some rowdy kids here this morning and you can tell people were antsy waiting for a bus to arrive... I was texting with Cheryl and Mark to tell them I was running a little late waiting for the bus. I later found out that I was close enough to walk, but I hadn’t realized that at this point.
I got over to Olivia’s finally and found Cheryl and Mark quite easily and we were seated in no time. I know Cheryl already shared a lot of the details but I just have to add that they were such a delight! It was a wonderful way to start my day and as is said often on these boards, it felt like catching up with old friends even though it was only the first time we had met!
I definitely needed tea this morning and my tea practices are of course laughable to the Brits but once I had my caffeine I perked right up I did skip the appetizer and just opted for an omelette with some fruit.
It was just lovely and really hit the spot. We had a lovely conversation but didn’t linger too long as of course we are at Disney and there are things to do in the morning! We said our goodbyes and “see ya laters” and headed our separate ways. I went off to the front desk to see if my Passport had arrived and to give them my cell to call when it did and headed to a bus stop to make my way to the Magic Kingdom!
There was a huge crowd heading into MK but lots of open bag checkers on the monorail side! No wait to get in for me! In no time I was in sight of my precious castle
Sometimes you just need to selfie
Unfortunately there were lots of lines for Photopass along Main Street so I just kept moving, knowing I could always come back. It was already around 10am at this point and a lot of rides were only showing 10 minute waits! Decided to head back to Big Thunder, but stopped for a Photopass in the new Hub area and the guy was great! Got a candid one where I was waiting before I was really ready in the location with fountain and castle. He said I must have done this professionally and just kept snapping away being like "Facebook profile pic" "LinkedIn" "all of them!" They weren’t actually my favorite pictures but it was still a ton of fun!
After my mini photoshoot I headed on towards the left, making my way through Liberty Square when I spotted a very short Tiana line! I hopped in and she was fabulous and chatty. Naveen was sleeping in this morning like he always does!
By the time I got back to Big Thunder the wait was posted at 20 minutes and I just wasn't having that (yes I am that Disney-spoiled that 20 is too long). I decided I would just head towards Tomorrowland and see what happened. Haunted Mansion only had a 15 minute wait so that was next! There was a surprise Photopass by the carriage so that was a fun one! I was excited to see the new shop and the end too. I looked around but didn't make any purchase. They have a lot of cute stuff but just really nothing I need.

A very nice breakfast you had with Cheryl and Mark at Olivia's! Seems like you are having quite the time in the MK! The newly imagined hub area looks quite stunning!

You are so right about that breakfast - we were like old friends chatting away, weren't we?
Wow, I absolutely love what they've done with the hub area. I kind of wish now that we'd made it back to the Magic Kingdom to see it finished off...
I had no idea it was done it was a pleasant surprise!

It is such a great community to be a part of and thank you!
My next stop was going to be Storybook Circus for some meet and greet action but they had 15 minute waits and again I just wasn't in the mood to wait. I popped around the shop a little bit and just took some pictures on my journey.
I thought these new mugs were so cute!
I then headed off to Tomorrowland and Buzz had 20 minute wait which I was hoping would still be a little shorter, so I ventured off to Carousel of Progress instead.
Caught Stitch walking around on my way over!
It was a pretty empty theater and I got a great seat in the front row. It had been a while since I had seen this show so I was really able to enjoy it
Hidden Mickeys!
Of course I had to take a kitty pic!
I enjoyed my break but it was time to venture out in search of more rides!
Great morning so far! Olivia's is a hidden gem. So nice you got to meet Cheryl & Mark. They're great, aren't they? And love all your Photopass pics! I don't usually get them on solo trips, but you've got me rethinking that!
