Brent and Liz's Valentine's day/Anniversary TR: Slippers, Satchels, Special Cinderellas, Surprises, Friends...and Ducks? - UPDATED 3/24 COMPLETE! - Page 10 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

I agree with Sheri (skateycat) -- I started laughing as soon as Brent started his version of the "flag" story, thinking "I already know the punch line and yet I'm still "
Brent, you can have no secrets from us! Liz, you keep ratting him out! Or it's back to the corner for Brent! And then we'll talk about him even more!
OK, now what's the story about Liz? We want it right
Wednesday Feb 7 , Studios and MK. Lunch at 50’s Prime with Skatey Cat and Cindy Belle!
We arose this morning, had a quick breakfast at the food court then on to the Studios bright and early. It is worth noting that this is about the point in the trip where Liz starts complaining how we have to stop at the bag check every time so they can check my ‘purse’. (Actually a Bagellini Messenger – light blue of course, Signed by Cinderella herself). I remind her it is a ‘Satchel’. More on that later. Once the park opened we headed straight for Tower of Terror. One of my favorite rides in all of Disney World. Fun Fun Fun! Then we headed over to Rock N Roller coaster. On the way over I noticed a lot of matching backpacks stacked up on the ground by the entrance. Didn’t think much of it til we got in the holding area before the pre show where we meet Aerosmith and we all of a sudden realized where all those backpacks came from. We were now right in the middle of a Brazlian Tour Group! Wow! Never seen anything like this. Chanting, dancing, etc. These people know how to have a good time. Our Limo on the ride was full of them. It was actually quite fun. I enjoyed it. They were well behaved, polite and appeared just ready to have a good time. Isn’t that what we’re all her for? The only thing I kind of had mixed feelings about was when they left the ride they took over the whole road on their way back to the center of the park. It was like a parade! I’m still good with it, then they all started dancing and shaking their booties in such a manner that no Father with teenage daughters can condone. Most of them were in the 15 year old range as well. I could have done without seeing that, but all in all they were a delight to be around. They brought a lot of good energy with them. When the parade was over we went over to see the Little Mermaid show. After that we found a photographer named Candace, for some pictures. I asked her where Phineas and Ferb where. She played along and hollered out “Mom! They are so busted!”
Then we rode the Star Tours ride for the first time since they re-did it. It was a great improvement from the old ride. Then it was time for lunch at 50’s prime with Skateycat and Cindy Belle! We arrived outside the restaurant a bit early and right away we heard “Daaahlllings!! “ And her came Sheri with Boas, and fake cigarettes in hand. Hugs and greetings were exchanged and right away I knew we had found some good friends. Cindy came along and we were seated then out waiter, Loukili came up. I don’t recall exactly everything that transpired but it was a great time. Sheri and Cindy are two of the nicest young ladies you’ll ever want to meet. I am soooo glad it worked out we could hook up for lunch, we chatted, exchanged stories, got to know each other better and had a great time. Liz got in trouble for putting elbows on the table, the girls got in trouble for something and had to sing “I’m a little tea pot” and I got in trouble for absolutely nothing, and had to sit in the corner. Also the Purse vs. Satchel debate raged again. Here are pictures:
Suffice it to say , A better time was not had by anyone else there that day. After lunch we decided to hang out a bit longer as we were having such a good time. We found some photopass photographers, no doubt because everyone wanted a picture of Sheri and Cindy.
Then we rode Tower of Terror together and by now it was time for us to go. Thanks ladies for a Fabulous time! We went back to the room for a quick dip and some fun in the sun, then on to MK to get my daily Princess fix. We had dinner at Tony’s first where seated on the porch when the parade was going through. That was pretty cool. After dinner we saw the Princesses (thank you Fastpass!) Cinderella was glad to see us as always!
Liz and Belle read our photo books while I , umm well I , ummm well I got ignored. Liz was pretty proud of herself and you know Belle and books. I think Belle enjoyed playing along. I tried to talk to Belle a few times but she Sh!’d me and went back to her book. Liz loved it.
Princess Aurora said she remembered us from France the other night and was glad we came back to see her again. I still think it’s amazing these cast members can remember us like that. What do you guys think? Is it the same Aurora?
As you can see I had them sign our memory making Princess flag we kept in the Window of our room. Then it was on to ride a few rides then go see Tink and Rosetta. Tink came over while we were talking to Rosetta and we had them both sign our green Tink shirts. Yes I made a green Tink shirt. I think it was pretty neat to get them both in one picture. I’m pretty sure it was a different Tink than what we met before but I think they talk because she asked me if Iwas going to call her Stinker bell and little Miss Spare Parts again. We were definitely being talked about behind the scenes, here. She talked of how Videa was teaching her how to fly by raising her hands in the air to be more aerodynamic. I told her I thought Videa was making fun of her. She also saw my Cinderella necklace where she’s sitting on a bell. Then she told me to put my hand on my button during the picture. Not quite sure what that meant. All in all a great meeting with Tink.
Got ourselves a late Dole Whip and headed home.
Tomorrow: Animal Kingdom then Whispering Canyon dinner, and Skynyrd Ducks making Princess Aurora laugh???? You won’t want to miss the next installment!

OMG! The flag story - hilarious!!!
And I know lunch with Sheri & Cindy was a great time and it definitely shows in the pictures too.
Can't wait for what's next.
What a great time with Cindy and Sheri! Looks like the same Aurora to me! I love how they remember you all. We've had several of them remember Stefanie, which adds magic to the trip.
Now that was a fun day, meeting up with other PPers, learning how to shake Brazilian booty, meeting the princesses and the fairies. You guy are looking great. How is visiting WDW working out with WW?

I have a confession to make -- while I cannot swear that Brent did nothing wrong during lunch at 50's Prime Time, since I felt that Sheri and I had been unduly punished for making noise, I wasn't about to let Brent get off scott free. Nosirree. So the next time Lou came over to our table, I at Brent and said, "Lou, Brent is being mean to us girls!"
And Lou promptly hauled Brent over to face the corner for a l-o-n-g time. So should I pretend to say now -- heck no, I won't! I'm not sorry and I'd do it again!
By the way, did you all hear that Brent and Liz took up smoking that day? Yep, and I'm to blame. In addition to presenting them with those fabulous feather boas, I also shared "cigarettes" (fake ones, but don't they look like they're really lit?) with my new friends from Michigan and asked them to pose for this lovely photo:
Oh yes, I'm afraid I am not a good influence on Liz and Brent!
I've said it before, but I would have LOVED to have witnessed that lunch! And the idea of the four of you meeting up in the future for a character meal?! Laughing already!!!!
