As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

Hi All! I think I've only used the PassPorter boards once before, so please bear with me if I commit any etiquette faux pas
I just found out today that there is a possibility that I will be traveling to Singapore in early December or January. As background information I just applied for and received my US passport earlier this year, so, other than a quick trip or two to Canada back when passports were not required, I have never left US soil so I'm kind of freaking out a little. I will probably be flying through Tokyo airport and would like to take advantage of this (probably) once-in-a-lifetime trip to get to see Tokyo Disney. It's highly likely I'll be traveling alone as it is DH's busiest time at work. SO - does anyone have any advice regarding travel to the Disney property from the airport, where to stay, what to do while I'm there, crowds that time of year, how much time I'll need, ETC...!! Thank you in advance for your help!

We were there back in 2009 and absolutely loved Tokyo Disney. I cannot encourage you enough to head there, as DisneySea still remains our favourite of all the Disney parks in the world and one day we will get back there!
As far as the time of year goes, if you visit in early December, you should be fine. Most of December is pretty quiet, certainly until just before Christmas. January should be Ok too, but avoid the first few days of the year around New Year, as this is a massive holiday for the Japanese and one of the busiest times of the year at the parks.
As far as how much time to allow, we gave ourselves three days for our trip. It was just about enough and, to be honest, since then they've added a lot. I guess it depends how much time you can spare. If I was doing it again, I'd go for at least four days. Allow yourself more time for DisneySea, as it's much more unique than Disneyland, with many more attractions that you won't find anywhere else in the world.
We stayed at the MiraCosta, which was pricey, but worth every penny, as it has an exclusive entrance into Tokyo DisneySea. We got a room with a theme park view, which was so neat!
I have to confess I couldn't remember how we got back to the airport (we spent a few days in Tokyo at the start of our trip, then went to Kyoto and Hiroshima before finishing up at Tokyo Disney), but according to my trip report, we bought tickets for the airport bus at our hotel. My notes say it took longer than I thought it would to get back to the airport - an hour and a half from the hotel, as the bus made a few stops at other places on the way.
Thank you for all the information Cheryl! If this trip comes to fruition I'm sure I'll have MANY more questions for you. In the meantime I'll keep scanning the internet in order to be as ready as I can be for what will surely be a whirlwind trip!

I saw that your trip was either December or January, so I may be too late in my response, but just in case...
I think the easiest way to get from Narita (or Haneda) to the Tokyo Disney Resort is by taking the Limousine Bus. The website is good to check what times they run, but they don't take reservations, you just show up and purchase a ticket. In the 3 times we flew from Korea over to Japan and did this, there was never a problem or worry about the bus being overbooked or there not enough room. And we went during rather crowded times -- as far as the parks go -- but, the majority of TDRs guests are from Japan. So, here is the link.
There is also the option of taking the train, but there is not a direct route, I do not believe, from Narita to TDR. You would have to catch a train, most likely take that to Tokyo station, switch to another line and then take that to Maihama, the station for TDR. While the trains are fun and something you may have to familiarize yourself if you will be spending some time in Tokyo, the simplest and fastest way would be the Limousine Bus.
I hope to hear about your trip! We lived in Japan not quite 10 year ago and more recently lived in Korea, which was a short 2 hour plane ride away, and we miss our trips to Tokyo Disney! It's a very special place!!
