As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

I get to make my FP+ selections on Wednesday! Who wants to remind me what time they open up? midnight? 6am? 3:32am?
Oh, so anyway, let me fill you in on the rest of the details for this trip!!
Who: Myself, Rosanna, serious WDW addict and planner,
DD, Peyton, senior in high school, looking forward to buying her graduation
ears,
DS, Cannon, sophomore, looking forward to many, many cheeseburgers,
DH, Clint, finally joining us for the entire trip this year (God willing and the
creek don't rise).
What: Tickets you ask? The kids and I have our APs, and I purchased a 6 day base
ticket for DH. Also, I have the TiW card, for massive dining savings!
When: March 29th-April 6th, AKA Spring Break!!
Where: OKW, studio. Splurged and rented DVC points for this trip. Woot Woot!
Very excited to check out this resort!
Why: Well, that's a silly question!! It's Spring Break! It's what we do! The sad
reality is that with DD graduating and heading to college next year, this might
be our last Spring Break trip The kids have really enjoyed all of our trips,
but times, they are a-changing. I am tempted to keep my AP and watch for
cheap flights to Orlando and just go by myself
So, on to the plans:
We are driving down, leaving Saturday morning, spending the night in Jacksonville and having dinner with our friends there. Then on to Orlando in the morning.
Sunday: Lunch at Trail's End(new for us), 1:40. Check in OKW at 4pm. MK evening.
Monday: Epcot day. Dinner at Rose and Crown, 7:50.
Tuesday: Animal Kingdom day. Date night! Boma for 2 at 6:05!
Wednesday: Down day as it is housing registration day for VCU and DD must be on
the computer at noon. I have booked breakfast at Olivia's (another
new one) at 10:20. Probably going to hit DHS in the afternoon with
FP+ for some of our favorite rides, and then dinner at Paradiso 37
(new!!). Maybe bowling after dinner?
Thursday: DHS day. We will take the boat to BC for a 1:30 ADR at Beaches and
Cream (you guessed it...NEW!).
Friday: MK day. Lunch will be at the Grand Floridian Cafe at 1:50(new for the
rest of the family). And then...Tomorrowland Terrace Dessert Party! We'll
see if DH likes it as well as the Rose Garden experience we got to enjoy last
year.
Saturday: Check out. Pre-drive breakfast at Kona Cafe at 10:15, then we
will hit the road.
What do you think? I'm pretty excited about all of the new restaurants we are trying out on this trip, and of course, we love some of our old favorites too. I will miss my friend and her family as they won't be joining us this year after 7 trips together. They are empty nesters and the college spring breaks don't match up with our public school break. She is an Assistant Principal now, so can take vacation when her daughter does, which is good for them. They might make it to WDW themselves, just not at the same time we go.
Also excited about OKW. Any tips or hints for making the most of that resort are appreciated.
I have a feeling that Fastpass+ reservations open at midnight, as I'm sure I did ours before we went to work, which would put that at around 2:00am EST. Hope you get everything you want!

Thank you! I guess I will be staying up late tonight

Last year was the first year in 5 trips we went solo without my friend & her son. It was really weird & I missed them terribly so I know how you feel!
I will let you know in just a few minutes how it went.
With out my friend, I am afraid the whole "vibe" will be off. You never know, once I start telling her all about my plans, she might just decide to come anyway.
So, I either had too much caffeine after 4pm, or the age-related insomnia kecked in last night. I told my DH I was going to stay up until midnight to make the FP+s, and he said I was nuts. I decided to just get up a little earlier in the morning and make them before work. However...I had barely fallen asleep when I was once again wide awake (I love this whole getting older thing...NOT!). I checked the clock and lo and behold, it was 12:29am. I decided I might as well get something done, so I grabbed the Ipad and got to work. Here is what I ended up with:
Sunday: MK/ BTMR 7-8, SDMT 8-9, SM 9-10.
Monday: Epcot/ Soarin' 10:20-11:20, SE 11:20-12:20, MS 12:20-1:20.
Tuesday: AK/ KS 9:40-10:40, PW 10:40-11:40, KRR 12:05-1:05
Wednesday: Down day, but we are going to hit DHS for our faves/
ToT 12:45-1:45, TSMM 1:45-2:45, ST 2:45-3:45.
Thursday: DHS/ (these will look familiar) ToT 10:15-11:15,
TSMM 11:20-12:20, ST 12:20-1:20.
Friday: MK/ 7DMT 9:35-10:35, SM 10:55-12:55, BTMR 11:55-12:55.
Too bad my children are all so over the character meets and are really not into Frozen. I could have picked up the elusive Frozen meet n greet
