Anyone else experiencing this at Photopass - limiting borders or no borders available? - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Anyone else experiencing this at Photopass - limiting borders or no borders available?
I'm trying to edit my photos and add borders today. In the past, borders have been available for every photo and if I wanted, I could add every border to a single photo. Today however, for my Ohana's photo for example, I was only allowed to add one border. I brought up the original photo, selected the border I wanted, then saved it. When I brought up the same original photo a second time, no border options came up. The same thing happened to my 1900PF photo - I added one border, then the border options didn't come up again. I then moved to my BB photos and for the first 6 or so photos, no borders came up at all and on the one I did edit, I was allowed to add 2 different borders before they stopped coming up on the original photo. Is anyone else experiencing this or is it just me? If that's the way Disney is going to do it this year, it's kind of a disappointment as they do have quite a few nice borders but I suppose it will save me tons of time if I can only do one or two borders per photo instead of 5 or 6.

I had a lot of difficulties with the site. If you go in and out of the site you can sometimes get back to the borders and continue to add. It took me many tries and quite a bit of frustration. Sometimes no borders would populate in the box so I would just move on to other pictures and add to them, log out and back in again. Just be persistent. Good Luck!
I didn't have any issues with our OHana photo. We were there at the end of May, and I worked my pictures in June.
I even had four different photos; one for my family, my inlaws, then BIL and nephews, then all of us together. I added a bunch of different borders to all four originals.
It could be something new? I know with all the of the borders I added to the photos we came out with three discs full of pictures. Maybe they are trying to limit that now? Or it just could be a glitch in the system.
That stinks- as if adding borders isn't a big enough pain with the site??
Disclaimer: I'm not very tech savvy but I have a few tricks that I always try when having computer issues. One of them is clearing my cookies and amazingly that seems to solve a lot of issues I run into on the Internet. Maybe it's worth a try?
Otherwise, you should definitely call Photopass and ask if their site is having issues or something? That's not cool if they are going to limit the borders in this manner.
I had problems when I was trying to edit my DL/DCA pictures. I ended up not buying any because I couldn't get any borders to work on any of them. Luckily we didn't get very many, so it wasn't that big of a deal for me.
But I was curious why it wouldn't let me add them.
Oh yes - I've definitely had problems. And if I remember correctly, I couldn't use every border for every print - different options at different times. It was frustrating last December.
YES!!!! I just e-mailed them about it. It worked okay last night, but this morning, there are entire groups of photos where it shows no borders are available, but they were there last night. Sometimes, once I add a border, the border choices go away completely for the entire group. I've logged out and in multiple times to no avail. Really annoying!

Haven't heard back yet, but I just tried again. I am still having similar issues, but only with different sets of photos. I can add borders now to ones I couldn't modify before. It must be an issue with their program, rather than a new limit they're imposing. Just keep trying!

All, it seems they are experiencing a "bug in the system" dealing with borders. This is the response I received today:
"Thank you for contacting us regarding DisneyPhotoPass.com.
Regretfully, we are experiencing some technical difficulties with the
ability to add borders to your photos at this time. We have forwarded
your request to our technical team for further assistance. Please allow
up to
three business days for our team to research your request.
We suggest logging into your Disney's PhotoPass account after the
three-day period to confirm if
your Disney's PhotoPass photos are successfully generating borders.
If you are unable to see your Disney's PhotoPass borders within your
account after this time frame,
please reply to this message so we can further research your request. "
For what it's worth, I was able to edit all photos last night with borders. I haven't tried today, though.

yes! I thought it was me, but being this is the first time using the site I wasn't sure if you could add bordersto every photo, I logged on this morning,t then when I went back in now it let me do more borders but not for every picture.

I was going to work on them last night and was having the same problem. I had already done a bunch of the MK ones with multiple borders and no problems last week. If I changed from one folder to another (like from MK to AK), some had borders available while others didn't. The ones that did have borders available, the border option would disappear sometimes after saving an edited photo. I just figured it was a site issue and it'll get resolved before I need to order the cd anyway.
I haven't worked on my photos in a couple of days but it did seem to be a computer glitch as on Thursday I believe it was, I was able to add borders to all my photos except the ride ones and I could add as many borders as I wanted. Just like every Disney site, this one requires patience too.
