As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!
Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

Pixie Chicks-2/13/03
Good Morning!!
Day 3 of hauling my hinder out of bed at 6am! So far so good!! Was on the treadmill by 6:15. I really do like working out in the morning better. It eliminates that nagging thought in the back of your head all day reminding you that you still need to exercise!! Now I get up and get it over with!!
I love my new work schedule!! It was great getting home at about 3:10pm. I felt like I was playing hookey!! I took a tunafish sandwich (made with fat-free mayo) for lunch and skipped the Nutri-Grain bar. I was hungry when I got home though so I had a salad. Since last night was a left-overs night I had soup and crackers instead.
Last week when I went grocery shopping I bought the Skinny Cow Fudge Bars. They are really big!!
I've got to stop buying the Skinny Cow stuff, way too good and way too expensive!! I'm spending almost $20 a month on those things!! Like they say: "All good things must come to an end!"
Donna, I too like to endulge in a couple adult beverages once in a while. Sure wish there was such a thing as low-cal liquor!! LOL
Michelle, I can't wait to see My Big Fat Greek Wedding!! Is it as good as they say it is?
Well that scary time of the week is coming up....... THE WEEKEND! "I am going to be strong, I am going to be strong, I am going to be strong......!!!!"
Have a great day everybody! I gased up the Pixie Chick Wagon yesterday......and yes, I'm broke now!! I remember when we were in high school and everybody would pitch in for gas so we could "buzz the ave". We would dig for change or maybe a buck or two at the most! Now you have to practically mortgage your home to fill your tank!! Don't worry though, the wagon gets great gas mileage!! If worse comes to worse, we can do like the Flintstone's!LOL We'll burn a lot more calories that way!!

Re: Pixie Chicks-2/13/03
Hi Chicks,
Cindy I sure am glad you gassed up the wagon. I need to jump back on badly. I lost 5 lbs. on vacation but sadly have gained half that back since we've been home. I've done nothing but eat since we returned. My solution is obviously to live at Disney.
Finally hit the treadmill again this morning for 2.5 mi. and am planning to eat better today. I already did 20 oz. water and will finish my gallon.
I caught up on all my missed Chick days this morning and way to go everyone. It is so hard to fight food cravings when it is cold and all you want is comfort food.

Re: Pixie Chicks-2/13/03
My scale is not being kind to me this week! I think I'm going to ignore him for a few days. It does get kinda addicting, getting on it every day to see if you've lost any! But so depressing when you've gained!
Last night I cleaned, cleaned, cleaned in my house, then I did stomach crunches and thighmaster exercises - I hope it helps! I got up at 5:30 and walked for 45 minutes this morning. I had a bigger breakfast than usual this morning since I cooked a big breakfast for the kids, so I'll have to compensate and eat less during the day today.
Michele, you must have walked a lot in the World! My last vacation we walked a lot too, but I ended up gaining 8 pounds in a week! I was thinking this morning while I was walking that this is something I'm gonna have to do the rest of my life, exercise and be careful what I eat!
Cindy, put the pedal to the metal 'cause I need this wagon to speed up!!! Have a good day guys!

Re: Pixie Chicks-2/13/03
Cindy - Way to go on your exercise - you are doing great! I'm actually NOT working today - going to do an aerobic cleaning on my house - I need to empty out the toy room, upstairs, and carry the boxes down to the cellar to await a spring yard sale - I figure toting at least 25 20 lb boxes up and down 2 flights of stairs should constitute a workout! John got a new TV for his birthdayto go with his new DVD player from Christmas - now I need to move the old one up to the toy room with the VCR for the girls - the older two have outgrown the toy room, and Sarah needs to be weaned off of some of hers - she's a dump and play kind of kid.
I've stayed within my points this week-splurged a little last night - we had nursing home night - meatloaf, mashed potatoes, spinach for dinner, followed by a rip roaring game of Bingo, with tapioca pudding. I passed on the tapioca - very small portion of meatloaf - low fat w/whole wheat breadcrumbs, so it's not too bad, but I did enjoy the potatoes thoroughly! Nothing better than mashed potatoes with spinach! It grosses my husband out - but Sarah and I can eat it till it comes out our ears!
Michele - Welcome back! Hope you and Teddy had a wonderful trip. I don't know if it is as cold in Massachusetts as it is here, it was 20 below again this morning, and the high today is predicted to only be 5 below! Sarah told me on the way to school this morning, she needs to be in Disney World right now!! If only...This cold has to break sometime, and we will be able to get out and rejuvenate!
Keep drinking that H2O, everyone!

Re: Pixie Chicks-2/13/03
I've been leery of posting this as I know some of you are struggling, but I'm dying to tell someone who'll give a rat's, well, you know... So excuse my rowdiness for a moment while I...
WOO HOO!!!!!!!
I've lost 4 lbs. since Monday! One more preggo pound to go!
I spoke on the phone with my dad this morning. He's lost a few pounds too after I admonished him when he put on a few pounds this winter. He said once I reminded him that there's nothing to do in the refridgerator and it's not a good way to kill time, he said he remembers that I said that and he goes and finds something else to do.
So my new motto is: "There's nothing to do in the refridgerator! Close the door AND GO TAKE A WALK!"

Re: Pixie Chicks-2/13/03
Cindy.. Here's my $5 for gas for the wagon.. I need you to come get me ASAP.... I am sitting here starving & dying to eat something starchy!!!!!!
Today was Pizza hut day at school & I only ate 2 small slices but it used up all of my starch windows .
I just ate an apple & it did NOTHING!!! I want bread!!!!!!!!!
And I still have to help my kids make their Valentine treat bags & try to stay away from the candy!! AARGH!!!!
On the weight side I gained a pound but I also haven't been watching as I should..
so please, if you will Cindy.. pick me up NOW!!! so that I can get on that bandwagon before I eat the house!!!

Re: Pixie Chicks-2/13/03
Well, it's same ol', same ol' here. I lost that pesky pound that keeps finding it's way back, so I'm hoping it's gone forever this time.
Cindy, I was LOL about your low-cal booze comment. I had just complained to DH a couple nights ago they should make low-cal, de-alcoholized rum. For people like me who like the flavour, but don't want the buzz and the weight gain!
I'm about 5 minutes away from climbing aboard my treadmill. So I'd better wrap this up Have a great day Pixie Chicks!
P.S. Welcome back Teddysmom!
