As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!
Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

Good Morning Everyone!
Hope everybody had a great weekend! I did good until after dinner last night. Had cereal w/skim milk and banana for breakfast and a salad for lunch. Fixed porkchops w/baked potatoes and green beans for dinner early cause DH had to go to a meeting. After dinner I just kept shoving food in my mouth! There was nobody home to say anything so I just kept eating! Gotta make sure I don't do that again!! Today's a new day and I've got my head on straight and I'm gonna keep it that way!!
Michele, thanks for the info about the fat burning. It's definitely alot harder for me to loose the weight now since I lost most of the weight last year. But I would still like to loose about another 20 pounds so I'm really gonna have to watch the calories which is something I don't usually concern myself with, usually only the fat and sugar. I never counted calories last year but I guess it was easier for me cause I had more fat to get rid of. I gotta really buckle down and get my rear in gear!!
Ann, I hope you are feeling better really soon! Here's some pixie dust to help you out *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Have a good one everybody!!

Re: Pixie Chicks-1/20/03
WOOOOO HOOOO Debbie! The first day I ran 15 mins. I felt like I had competed in a marathon. No joking. I love your spirit and believe me when you start running the weight does come off.
Cindi-You'd think we were in the same house last night
I ate everything not nailed down. Obviously still working on the food thing I made my brother's favorite meal for his 40th. It is Spaghetti Carbonara w/ Shrimp. The only thing healthy in this meal was the Shrimp. Then those darn Girl Scout Cookies I have been avoiding jumped into my hands(allegedly I was making DB's lunch for today but it was probably really to open the box ) I still have a good 50 lbs. to lose but I'm back on it w/my lemon water and 2.5 mi. this morning. I have to say I pulled out that calorie info from when I first started. Now I try to just limit portions and make sure to exercise. I don't break down the numbers on a daily basis anymore.
Ann I hope your Chicken Soup did the trick. If not I hope you are able to at least start feeling better today.
Have a great day girls.

Re: Pixie Chicks-1/20/03
Good morning! Congratulations Debbie!
Those of us who binged last night will do better today. It's a new day and a new chance. I went over my points yesterday, and I didn't exercise, although I was so busy at work yesterday I think I burned off a couple extra activity points there. But when I got home from work, my DD had been baking. She made cookies from scratch and iced them. She was so proud of herself that there was no way I could refuse a couple. She would have been destroyed. And last night I was craving salt so I helped myself to a serving of potato chips. Ah, well, that's life.
Have a great day! (and Get Well soon Ann!)

Re: Pixie Chicks-1/20/03
Hey there - it must be the cold air - I had the munchies last night too! Unfortunately, they haven't gone away this morning! I ate my 2 points worth of plain oatmeal this morning, then made Pillsbury's Cinnamon/Sugar Biscuits for Sarah, and ended up eating 3! I haven't stepped on the scale - I don't want to know! Luckily it is back to the grindstone tomorrow - if I'm not home, I won't be grazing so much! We've had four days out of school this weekend, with a teacher workshop and the MLK holiday, I need to learn to deal with all the special occasions!
Ann, I hope you are feeling better soon!

Re: Pixie Chicks-1/20/03
Okay,
Me, too! Not one, but TWO pieces of cheesecake over the weekend. (Company Party and DH's birthday). But other than THAT did well!
No gym - too much other stuff to do. I'm not doing well there, either!
Deb - way to go!
We may have lost the battle over the weekend, but we will not lose the war!

Re: Pixie Chicks-1/20/03
Well, girls, don't feel too bad, I think I have you all beat in the binging department - DH and I had takeout Chinese Saturday night - Oh how bad! But oh how good it was!
But I have worked hard the last 4 days - 35 minutes on the treadmill 4 days in a row! But I can't run, I walk and jog a little, some high stepping. I basically listen to music and move to the beats. I hope I can keep it up. I heard if you do something 100 days it will become a permanent habit, so 96 days to go!
I did lose 1 pound last week. That is 3 total. I did want to lose 2 a week but I guess you can't pig out and lose, can you?
GOOD LUCK CHICKS!

Re: Pixie Chicks-1/20/03
Thanks everyone for the get well wishes.. still feel like a wet dishrag today... don't think it helped that DD came into our bed around 4AM this morning & continually kicked me in the head until I made DH take her back to her room ( She's a sleep walker & is always ending up in another room in the morning.. our house looks like a fortress for all the gates we've got)
did really well on the diet yesterday.. ate several bowls of the chicken soup & I made a couple extra pieces of chicken & made chicken salad for myself this week..
got on the scale this AM & didn't expect to have any weight loss as the fiber still isn't working but I was pleasantly surprised that I lost another pound.. so after 2 weeks on the diet total weight loss is 6 pounds.
still did pretty good today.. ate a low-fat waffle & turkey sausage links for breakfast & had some leftover soup for lunch & chicken salad for dinner.. I've still got several starches & proteins left ( plus an extra which is great for having a no no~ cookie, chips etc) I made low fat Tiramisu last night so I'm saving my windows for that this evening with a cup of tea.
It's back to work tomorrow for me so I'm hoping to feel a lot better.. I dread dealing with the kids when I don't feel well!
