As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

OK...I have checked and rechecked the average temps for our trip. I have a handle on what the average highs and lows are for the time frame I am going. (Nov 27 through Dec 6). ANd I know layers is going to be my friend.
But I am still worried about the temps. The girls will be wearing customs to each restaurant. I hate the thought of having all that work on those dresses covered up by jackets, but honestly don't have time to make matching jackets for each dress! LOL
The restaurants are inside, so the jackets will not be needed while we are actually eating, and I have gotten long sleeved T's and legging for under the dresses in the parks after dinner..
For just the regular touring of the parks, we are all wearing matchy or matching t shirts. Again, hating the thought of all that work being hidden by jackets, but if it gets chilly enough, we will cope!
My DD10 has an issue with getting too hot...so we are taking both jeans and capris and a couple of shorts. The rest of us will probably go with just jeans, and maybe a pair of capris if wanted.
I'm going in search of knit gloves to be packed in their Disney bags before the trip...and am hoping ot find at least one sweatshirt a piece to Disney-fy a bit for the cooler nights.
This is an issue with us, because we took a trip a couple years ago in late February. The first two days were HOT, but by the end of the trip we were freezing! The highs only got into the low 40's and freeze warnings out at night. I spent way too much money on jackets and scarves that trip!
I know I am forgetting something.
We are driving from the Atlanta area in two vehicles, so we have lots and lots of room for packing things. You would think that being from the South I wouldn't be having this much trouble with this!! LOL
Any suggestions...or ideas on what I have forgotten?
The layers are your best bet. Just remember to check the forecast starting at 10 days out. By the time you are 3 days out you will have a good handle on the bulk of your trip.
It will be a lovely trip. You won't be as cold in November as you were in February.
February is an entirely different animal than late Nov/ early Dec. While it's good to be prepared, I seriously doubt you will need gloves or lots of sweatshirts. Maybe a jacket for the evenings, but it's often still about 80 for the highs. I know the averages lows say upper 50s, but keep in mind that that temp is usually taken around 4-5 am, so even if you are out in the parks late, it won't be that cold yet. As for your matching t-shirts...I would suggest taking a long sleeve shirt that you could wear under it (that way you won't have to cover it with a jacket), that you can wear in the morning, then take off if it gets warmer in the afternoon. Our weather here in Savannah right now is very similar to the averages for Orlando during the time you are going. I am always the first person to get cold, but even for me now, I only have to wear a light sweater when I leave for work in the AM (right as the sun's starting to rise), and then it is incredibly pleasant with short sleeves in the afternoon. Good luck!!

I agree with what several other posters said...check the weather starting 10 days before your trip. I like www.weather.com but I know that others have their favorites, too. Don't worry if you see cool temperatures 10 days before your trip..weather can change in 10 days! I will be back at WDW December 1 - 8 and have gone several times in the past during that same time frame. I really don't remember too many times where the day time temperatures went below 60. If it is raining, temperatures in the 60s do feel chilly. However, if the sun is shining, it is usually pretty nice. In talking to the lifeguards last year at Pop Century, they told me that they always guard the pools as long as the temperatures don't go below 50. It is written into their contracts that below 50 is too cold! Being from the NorthEast, we are happy if the temperatures are in the upper 60's. Like you, I will hope for nice warm temperatures for early December.
I stalk weather.com before a trip. I am going about the same time as you...and I'm hoping it doesn't get any warmer than the average temp. Last thing i want is to bring a whole wardrobe with us each day tot he parks!! LOL! If it gets past 80, I know we'll be hot in jeans. And I'd much rather just put jeans on in the morning and be comfortable for the whole day. I am a little worried about the nights...but we'll have sweatshirts and such.
The plan for myself and the kids is jeans each day and then layer shirts. We are making some matching tee shirts for certain days, but we'll most likely wear those over long sleeve tees...if it gets warm, we can always ditch the long sleeve tee underneath.
Dh is a completely different story...he will probably wear shorts.

We went a couple of years ago Dec 1- 10 and we had only one day that was absolutely freezing. We brought layers but that one day was so cold we ended up buying extra layers. The evening was the worst and as we made it an early night. The rest of the trip shorts and t shirts worked even at night. We took a light jacket and were fine. It was a great time to go. I want to say the night we went to Mickey's christmas party might have been a bit chilly but we were out till almost 1am.
Have a great time! I love the Christmas decorations!
