Forums Closed
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.

So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.

Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.

We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.

There are other changes as well.

Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.

It's time to move on and move forward.

PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.

But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.

So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.

And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.

That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

9/4/10 Epcot

9/4/10
Today we spent the day in Epcot.

We were up at 7:15 am, had a light breakfast in the POP food court and then headed to the park.

Our first ride of the day was Ellen's Universe of Energy. My mom really likes this ride and last year we never made it over to ride it. Then we rode Mission Space the Green team.
Then we rode a family favorite Test Track. We grabbed fast passes then stood in line for the first ride. Everyone enjoyed it. Well except for my aunt who said it was fun until they had us go 200 mph. We laughed at her and said it was only 65 mph. We then used our fast passes and rode it a second time.

Then we headed into the World Showcase. Freddie (my hubby) decided to get 1 souvenir in each country. Only guideline was we kept it under $10. It ended up being a bit of a scavenger hunt.

First country we headed to was Mexico. We rode the Grand Fiesta boat ride. I love this pavillion. The setting inside is just beautiful. Freddie's souvenir was a small sombero.

Next up was Norway. We headed to the Maelstrom. Freddie's souvenir was a small troll. We all had a snack. Everyone with the exception of me had sweet pretzels. They really enjoyed them. I had the school bread. It was delicious. I highly recommend.

Then it was off to Italy. At this point my aunt mentioned that Disney is incredible even able to control the weather by country. (She was kidding of course) She said the weather in Italy was the best yet and enjoyed sitting at a table just enjoying the scenery. Freddie's souvenir was an alabaster Mickey shaped cut out. It had the word Topolino on it. I asked someone what it meant and she said in Italian that literally meant little mouse.

I love wandering around the countries. Wandering amongst the shops and there is so much to see. In Germany, Freddie got a little cow bell.

In China, Freddie got a baby Buddha.

We skipped the movies and such on this trip. It was a shorter trip for us and it is hard to get everything in.

By this the time we got to America, we noticed it we only had 1 ½ hours until dinner. Freddie did not get a souvenir in America. We have tons of American stuff.

The boys had picked up a Kim Possible Kimmunicator and our mission took place in France. So we headed to France so we could complete our mission and get to dinner. It was really fun to have things appear and move controlled by our kimmunicator. I highly recommend doing this but with a warning it does take up some time to complete your missions.
Also in France, I enjoyed a Grand Marnier Orange Slush. Very Yummy. My mom had the Limon Citron lemonade slush. Because I was running all over France on our Kimpossible Mission I was unable to try her slush but she says it was delicious.

We didn't visit the rest of the countries because we did not want to miss our reservations. Where were we having dinner you ask? We had reservations at Le Cellier. We arrived about 30 minutes before our our reservation.

The heat I think had started to get to Dylan. He fell asleep on Freddie's lap in the lobby of the restaurant.

While we were waiting for our table, Lindsay (one of the servers) was drawing pictures of some of the other servers. They were really cute pictures and she showed them to us whenever she was done. At about 10 minutes before dinner time, she said she was going to draw me. She had me sit real still and she worked really hard. Turned out she was drawing a picture of Minnie Mouse. She signed it and gave it to me. It was very cool and a neat souvenir.

Tip: If you are going to have dinner at Le Cellier and don't mind an early reservation time, I recommend trying for a reservation at or around 4 pm. That is when their dinner service starts. At 4pm, all the servers came into the lobby of the restaurant and sang Canada's National Anthem, O'Canada. They said it is the tradition before the dinner service starts. Really neat and I am glad we got to see it.

On to our dinner. We all ordered a bowl of the the Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup. One word Amazing. For dinner Freddie and I had the NY strip steak. It was very good. The steak just melts in your mouth. My mom had the salt crusted Prime Rib and my aunt had the coffee rubbed Kansas City strip steak. Both said their food was great. The boys both had Grilled Steak for dinner. For dessert Freddie had the chocolate moose and I had the campfire smores. Tyler had a sundae and Dylan had a fruit cup since he still wasn't 100%. Both boys look forward to being able to order adult menu foods in the future. Selection is in kids foods not a highlight for them.

After dinner we went to Tyler's favorite ride Journey Into Imagination. (I liked the original ride from my childhood more than this ride but he LOVES it) After that we watched Captain EO. It was amazing. Dylan thinks it was a little scary but he liked it. Then off to the land. Soarin had a 50 minute wait and all the fastpasses were out so we decided to skip and come back another day. We then went off to ride Living With The Land. Dylan really enjoyed this ride. I thought he would think it was boring but both boys liked it.

We then headed over the Living Seas. We rode Finding Nemo and then went to talk to my favorite turtle, Crush. Dylan actually had a question for Crush. He asked how many turtles are in the sea? Crush looked all around him and then said 1. He then asked Dylan how many humans were on the land. Without missing a beat Dylan said 1. Crush was really confused. He said he could have sworn he saw more than just 1. Then he asked Dylan if he meant that there was only 1 like you. Dylan smiled and said yes. This is show is a can't miss on our to do list. It is truly amazing with all the interaction.

After that we headed over to Spaceship Earth. Dylan is obsessed with history. He says this ride is like watching the history channel and it is very important to pay attention.

Then it was time for us to head back to the World Showcase for Illuminations. Due to mobility issues Freddie had rented a scooter for the day. They directed him to a handicap area and we had a fantastic view of Illuminations.
It was the a great ending to another perfect day.
