As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

My kitchen addiction is for cookbooks AND kitchen linens. I love dishtowels and cloth napkins, placemats and tablecloths. I have an entire kitchen cabinet dedicated to storing my dishtowels, napkins and placemats.

We use every day Corelleware. I don't cry too much when one gets chipped with a house full of boys. We also have a cream plate with a gold edge that I got for holidays.
I love depression glass in cranberry although it is rare. My grandma is saving the dishes her mother gave her when she and my grandpa were married. I'm not sure who made them, but they have a lovely rose pattern on them.
I collect cookbooks of every kind and sort. I have two bookcases filled with them. One of my favorite things to do is to sit quietly in my comfy chair, pick a recipe, and then fly out to the store to make it a reality. Right now, I'm kind of into collecting the state cookbooks from Quail Ridge Press. Like Alton Brown from Feasting on Asphalt, I love to explore regional cooking. It's great fun to flip through the pages of a state I've never been to and find something unique to it. Makes me want to visit there!
I'm addicted to dishes as well, and I don't even have a kitchen of my own yet! I get it honest - my mother has 9 - NINE! - FULL sets of china. Plus no telling what in smaller sets or mismatched pieces.
I am addicted to cookie jars, I have so many that they are spilling out into my living room and dinning room. I have been good though, I haven't brought one in a long time.
So you are saying it's not normal to have several sets of dishes?? Who knew!!! I have my everyday Williams Sonoma ones, one fancy set that was DH's grandmother of Royal Daulton that has blue flowers and platinum edging, one fancy set that was my great grandmas - it's got white roses on it. I have my winter set that has snowmen on it. I need the Spode Christmas ones - desperately.
I also collect cookie cutters. I probably have 300 different one. Let's not talk about cookie jars, got a few of them, and I need to install another bookcase for more cookbooks - 5 full shelfs of them. Oh did I mention the Disney salt and pepper shakers??
I love cookbooks -- though I don't use them often enough. But that's another thread all together!
I'm turning green with envy over the dish collections. Growing up I loved Lenox Holiday and my mother always teased me that I would get married at Christmas just so I could register for it. Well, I had the December wedding, but got "plain" china instead. Though I do have the Christmas salad plates to match!
I do have Christmas Pfalzgraf, which we use daily the month of Dec.
Since there are just the three of us -- and all our family is at least 800 miles away -- I can't really justify anything more. But I would love some Thanksgiving pieces, and a few floral/springy things for Easter.
Well aparently I have good company! And I was worried it would seem "excessive".
I do have a shelf in the kitchen of my favorite cookbooks, probably a 6' shelf. Loaded. It fell down one time.
And don't get me started on gadgets and appliances. Name it, I have it. Sometimes in multiples. Crockpots, got them in all sizes and shapes. Use them all too. Big electric roaster, could roast a turkey, but I use it for stuffing at Thanksgiving. Meat slicer. Use it when I make dripped beef. Oooh, I'm salivating. Waffle makers - 2. And am electric griddle for pancakes. We have neighborhood brunches sometimes. George Foreman (we're on the 5th one) and the "Griddler" for pannini's. Food processor, blender, Margarita machine, and the big Kitchen Aid Pro mixer with every possible attachment, not that I ever plan on making my own sausage, but I could. Pat wants to try that. I'll have to study for that one.
I'm on a quest to reorganize the dining room and the kitchen cabinets in an effort to make things fit into the cabinets and hutches. So today I cleaned out the coat closet cause that was easier than fussing with the dining room!
I like the little gadgety things. Like my coffee filter grabber or my corn on the cob butterer. I have quite a few cookie jars too. And I have 100+ cookie cutters..
