We park hop almost evry single day, so we wouldn't think of not getting it. If you don't pplan to hop but only once I think that you are better off without it.

I'm a park hopper. I usually go solo, and I have an AP, so I don't have to pay extra.
I tour on a whim, so sometimes I'll leave a park mid-morning and go somewhere else. I like having the freedom, and I use it often.

We got it last year, I planned very well to use the Park hopper. If you get the DDining, then you can't have to have the park hopper according to me I guess. But if you have smaller children, then it might not be worth it. You want to get everything in that you can. We went to Typhoon Lag. and then left and back to a park. We went to AK, then left and back to MK. We used it several times. We went to Star Tours all 4 days we were there, and then left after lunch when it started getting crowded. Up to you honestly.

We have found the ability to park hop more important with small children. When my wife and I were younger and did not have children neither of us park hopped. With small children we've found that mid-day naps make everything work better and then we have the option of doing different parks morning vs. night as several others have said here. We can have a TS meal at Epcot in the AM for instance and think nothing of taking a really great reservation at another park for the nighttime meal. Occasionally my wife gets a great last minute TS deal and with park hopper we can take advantage of it. I like the ability to be spontaneous - frankly those plans I've seen online that rival Operation Overlord in complexity leave me absolutely cold - being able to go where we want when we want has worked very well indeed for us.

Personally, I like the flexibility of the park hopper, and we do use them. We often take short trips - and the hopper allows me to do everything that I had planned no matter what parks I visit.

We also use the heck out of the Park Hopper! We have gone 2 times for the week of Christmas to New Year's Day. We usually start our day doing EMH in Magic Kingdom and then hop somewhere else around 11am...just when MK starts to get really, really full! We LOVE the Park Hopper!!!

Hi, we just got back from WDW and we did not get the park hopper option due to trying to save some $$. It worked out fine for my husband, son and myself. We did however "wish" we had it at one point during the vacation. We did MK 1st day, Studios the 2nd day and Epcot on the 3rd. I'm not crazy about Animal Kingdom, but when we go back in Sept. my husband and I might get the AP, so we can hop all around without worrying about it, I think. If I am wrong, please correct me.

That's funny - I have the opposite comment! When the kids were little, we went to one park, got exhausted, then went back to the hotel. We never had enough energy or time to go to another park. The Hopper ability meant nothing to us. Now that my kids are old, we use the hopper function. Kids can go to another park if they want to, and so can we adults!

I love the freedom of the park hopper. This time though we bought a 10-day one park pass for 7 days in the parks. This was much cheaper than a 7-day park hopper.

We really do use it, but everyone is different! We like the flexibility of visiting a park in the morning and another in the evening, with a break at the resort in between. Some people like to stick with one park, and even if they take a break, they just return to the same park. In the past we've spent our $ on park hoppers and a rental car b/c DH always finds great deals, and we don't like having to wait around for the bus (and our last trip it POURED!). But we've only ever stayed at POR so far, no deluxe resorts. So do what's best for YOU! And have FUN!!!

We 'hop' frequently. Like others have said, DHS and AK days are shorter so we go somewhere else at night. Also with the park hoppers, we can take advantage of more of the EMH's. A few times we've headed to the am EMH park and spend half the day there, nap in the late afternoon, then head off to the pm EMH park for that day.

Really one of my biggest reasons for getting the park hopper is I'm nuts about Fantasmic and I"m always paranoid it will rain or be really windy on our DHS day. Without the park hopper, I'd have to use a whole park admission day just to catch Fantasmic. For me it's wouldn't really be worth it, and it's just not a trip to WDW without seeing that show.

Call us Trigger cause we bounce from park to park!! We go to 1 park in the morning, go have lunch and a swim then go back to a different park for the evening. Then again, we are August vacationers.

I think you made a good decision for your family.

For us, we need the hopper. We've used them every trip, extensively.
