As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

I have decided I can't wait to till the kids about our March 25th trip. I am thinking about having a Disney dinner Saturday night. I need some food ideas. We have been to WDW before, but we have no favs...well I do, sushi from CG, not going to find that in Tennessee LOL. Can ya'll recommend ideas? Thanks a million.

I found this to be a grate help, you can see all they have to offer and the price to. This way you can talk to your kids about what you found or not, but you will get a better feel for what you are looking for. I hope this helps.
The recipes from WDW are great if you have eaten there before. Have you ever eaten at 'Ohana? You could do a meal like that with meat on skewers, bunch of sides like cheesy potatoes, give everyone lai's and put little umbrellas in their drinks. When the first one says "this is like that place we ate at in Disney" you can tell them!
Another idea - if you don't want to actually "cook" you can now buy ravioli and pizza in the shape of Mickey. Mickey ice cream bars (not the good ones) are also available for dessert. They have pasta in the shape of Mickey and Cars as well. At least around me they do.
We have family planning meetings for our trip monthly and I always serve dinner before we start. They are usually Disney themed meals. I found Nemo pasta at my Kroger store one month. This past month I had Mickey Pasta. I also took those Pillsbury Cresent Rounds (2 tubes) cut round in half and rounded it into balls and stuck them a whole round and made Mickey rolls. They look just like something out of Disney. I thought afterwards I should have taken a photo and posted it. We will get out some of our Disney mugs, like the ones you get from LTT and have sparkling grape or apple juice. Maybe a salad, you can make Mickey's out of cucumbers for accent. The kids always look forward to the family planning meeting meals, and I think the adults do too!
Have you made your dining reservations? That's during spring break and you don't want to wait. Take if from a passholder, get an idea where you are going on what day and if you are doing disney dining or just planning on any sit downs, make your reservations NOW!!! You can always change them later!
As for disney themed meals - mickey pizza!! Pilsbury makes an awesome pizza dough in a can (look around the canned biscuits) and either cut the pizza into Mickey shapes or cut the toppings into mouse ears.

I had actually bought the Mickey ravioli's they are really good, I also saw mickey shaped burgers, (pics on line) hadn't seen them in the supermarket as of yet.
I think the mickey shaped pizza is a very cute idea
I do Disney-themed dinners to "launch" a Grand Gathering or just to celebrate a trip! I love the pot roast from 50' Prime Time and the Twinkie Tiramisu from Pop Century (try it with Ding Dongs or some other chocolate snack cake -- YUMMY!)
We put our Mister Potato Heads with all their Disney "parts" out on the table and let the kids build with them.
We play Disney trivia games and give out funny prizes (like Sharpies and Disney fruit snacks and lip balm) to the winners and as "consolation prizes."
If there's time, we finish up by watching a Disney movie, the planning video, or our vacation videos.

It's easy to make Mickey pancakes freehand if you want to do this over breakfast, then have a Disney day.
Our Walmart supercenter has the Mickey Pizza and Mickey or Pooh ravioli. I've only seen the Mickey hamburgers at Target. (The first time I made DD a Mickey burger DH thought I'd done it myself and kept telling DD what a great mom she had. I should have hidden the box -- but we had a good laugh when he discovered my secret!)

I put the three plates at each setting in the shape of a Mickey head, then wrote everyone's name and drew a Mickey head on the big plate with mustard. I made Mickey croutons by cutting out Mickey heads from slices of bread and toasting them in the oven. I used pop-it breadsticks to make Mickey dinner rolls. We don't have a favorite Disney food, so I just made a WDW recipe that looked easy -- Cottage Pie from the Rose & Crown. We finished it all off with a Mickey cake -- just three round cakes put together.
Everyone had to come to dinner in their favorite Disney clothes. It was so much fun!
