As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

Is there a special store you go to to get just one or two special foods?
Every month I travel to Goodrich's Shop Rite in East Lansing (right near MSU's Campus...very busy student/local store) to get Green Mountain Coffee Roasters coffee. I love the store but they are a bit expensive (for regular grocery shopping) so I only pick up a few items. They also carry Vermont beer and a few other special items....including cashew butter!

I used to go to an Indian grocery for jarred grape leaves and fresh pita bread. That was about the only thing I purchased there, except for the jumbo bags of dill they sold there for $2 a bag (instead of $5 for the tiny bottles they sell in the grocery).
Where I live in Jersey it's a lot like NYC where the real estate is so high that there aren't many big grocery stores, so I have to go from one store to the next to the next to get what I need. Sure, I get tasty stuff, but with two toddlers it's the biggest pain in the patootie!!! I think that the one store I don't normally go to is Whole Foods, but I go there just for Kinnickinnick Gluten Free Pizza Crust. I don't eat gluten free foods specifically, I just love the flavor and texture of these crusts. For me, they are worth the elbow-to-the-ribs shopping experience that is Whole Foods.

There are some things that I drive to the city to get, esp the Co Op where my older son works. They ahve somethings I cant get even at Wegmans. And theres a gourmet store that I sometimes go to to get olive oil or specila treats. ususally, I can find whatever I need here in my suburb though.
That coffee sounds good!
I used to have to drive almost an hour to Whole Foods and Trader Joe's to get things like greek yogurt, whole wheat couscous and orzo.
Then my local Stop & Shop remodeled. They carry all the things I need now
We don't have a whole lot of choices in Siler City for grocery shopping, so not really. We do go to the Piggly Wiggly to get my dad's "good milk" - it's from a local dairy and he loves it and in Siler City, they only sell it there. Sometimes I'll go to the local bakery to get fresh sourdough bread or cheese wafers.

No, I con't think of anything we normally buy that I go to a special store for. Now, I do love to stop at Trader Joe's on occassion, and there is a store on the way to the kids' school that is strictly INternational foods. They have FRESH Octopi!! And lots of other really cool, weird stuff.

We go to Sam's Club to get cases of Arizona Green Tea in bottles. You can buy it singularly at the gas stations here, but it's my one true addiction, and it's much cheaper to buy it in bulk.
I also make a quick stop in Cannonsburg PA when I'm on my way towards Pittsburgh. This town is the home of Sarris' Chocolate, and it's truly TO DIE FOR. I always get a bag of chocolate-covered pretzels and chocolate-covered popcorn.
I also make quick trips across the border into PA to buy cases of Yuengleng Beer. It's like gold here in Morgantown, and for some reason, they won't distribute it in WV. So I have to drive 5 miles north to the local distributor to buy it.
Not really. We only have a Giant Eagle and a small local grocery store around here. We do most of our shopping at the Wal-Mart supercenter about 6 miles away.

I only drink it when I forget to set my coffee maker at home. It is so GROSS! BLAH...like drinking coffee flavored water. I brought some pre-ground GM Coffee to the office once and everyone LOVED it....but our office manager said it was too expensive for our coffee service. Darn it!
