***MOUSEFEST 2007: PASSPORTER'S COMMUNITY SCHEDULE*** - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Planning for MouseFest 2007 is well underway! And we need your help! We’re looking for your suggestions and ideas for new events each year. Community volunteers are always needed to host and plan events as representatives of PassPorter’s message boards. If you have a suggestion or would like to help, you can post here anytime between now and MouseFest 2007, December 2 - December 10, 2007.
The official schedule is as follows:
MouseFest Cruise - December 2-6, 2007
MouseFest Land - December 6-10, 2007 MegaMouse Meet 2007 - December 8, 2007
Magic Martini Flight Meet: Bottoms up! Join co-host PassPorter member, Maggie (maggiemay), and guest co-host, Matt, for a Martini Flight meet at Diversions Lounge, onboard the Disney Magic on Sunday, December 2nd. Please check your Navigator when you board for the time.A “flight” is a sampling of a specific drink. In this case, you are given five different versions of a Martini. They are smaller than regular drinks, but enough to get an appreciation of what that particular drink has to offer. The server also gives you a little history/info on the drink. Start off the cruise on a really "magical" note, and if you think you can hang with the big dogs, stop on by! This event is limited to adults age 21 and older only. No RSVPs necessary. http://www.passporterboards.com/foru...ight-meet.html
PassPorter's Christmas Parade Mingle: Come prepared to mingle and jingle all the way on December 6th with event hosts: PassPorter Authors, Jennifer and Dave Marx, PassPorter Guides Dawn (DawnDenise) and Tiff (tigger22), and your fellow MouseFesters for a meet during MVMCP for the Magic Kingdom parade in front of Frontierland Shootin' Arcade, 15 minutes before the last parade - usually held at 10:45 pm. Complimentary "PassPorter Pal" cloisonne pins provided to fellow minglers! No RSVP necessary. http://www.passporterboards.com/foru...ml#post1651540
The Yak & Yeti PassPorter Expedition: Legend has it the new restaurant Yak & Yeti will be open by MouseFest (which it is!). Join PassPorter authors and event hosts, Jennifer and Dave Marx, as we journey through Asia to scout out the new eatery on Friday, December 7 at 1:00 pm in front of Flights of Wonder in Asia at Disney's Animal Kingdom. Together we'll explore their courtyard counter-service/beer-garden options and enjoy their much-touted Asian fusion cuisine. PassPorter Pal cloisonne pins for all fellow expeditioners and diners. http://www.passporterboards.com/foru...ml#post1829230
PassPorter Illuminations and Keychain Exchange Meet: Light up the night at Epcot with event hosts, PassPorter Guides, Maureen (statelady01) and Lynn (OffKilter_Disneymom), your PassPorter pals, and fellow MouseFesters for some fun, friends, fireworks, and a keychain exchange. All participants should plan to bring a Disney-themed keychain to trade. Please RSVP by PM to Maureen (statelady01). Please meet Saturday December 8th at Epcot at 8:45 pm at the Promenade at Italy. Maureen can be found wearing her Stitch Santa hat so be sure to keep an eye out for her and her hat. There are parties sometimes at the Promenade. If so, please look for Maureen over to the left. When in doubt, look for MouseFest buttons, PassPorter pouches, and pin-laden lanyard-wearers. http://www.passporterboards.com/foru...ml#post1650422
My First Roller Coaster Ride Meet: Join "PassPorter Moms" Belle* (Sara Varney) and Jennifer Marx, co-hosts by Ryan Varney and Alexander Marx, and bring the whole family to enjoy the wild (but also mild) ride that is Goofy's Barnstormer. All are welcome! MouseFest Sunday, December 9th at 11:00 am (subject to change) at the Magic Kingdom, The Barnstormer at Goofy's Wiseacre Farm. The height restriction for this ride is 35". Guests who have children that do not meet the height requirement or choose not to ride may hang out at the nearby Donald's Boat play area. We hope to see you there! http://www.passporterboards.com/foru...ml#post1651314

I plan on going to the 2007 MouseFest & would like to do the Ornament Exchange meet again. This time instead of having it at DTD, I'm thinking maybe it might be better to hold it in whatever the "park of the day" is for MouseFest activities.
We had a nice group of MouseFesters at the 2006 meet and would like to see this as an annual meet.
We'll be there for MouseFest as well - it's official, as we booked our flights earlier today! We only arrive on 8 December though in the afternoon, so we probably won't make it to the Mega Mouse Meet.
I don't know if it can be arranged but I know I have heard they do tours of the Tri Circle D Ranch at Fort Wilderness. That is something I would LOVE to do; just a thought. I will be at Mousefest this year

I heard Pop Warner cheerleaders will be there starting the 3rd of Dec. Will they still be there by the 6th and will it affect anything? I have All Star Movies booked, but might change if the cheerleaders are there. (PS I love kids and cheerleaders. I have a couple of loud ones myself. But they won't be with me on this trip, so I'd like a little peace and quiet if possible.)

I am so glad to hear this, Debbie! And I'm delighted to hear that so many of you are already planning to attend!
Don't forget - we need people like all of you to help host and plan events! If you have an idea for an event or would like to help by hosting an event, let me know and I'll help you get the ball rolling.

We were talking about this and we'd like to see an Adventurer's Club meet on the night of 9 December, as Mark loves going there and it's so much better in a big group. I'm happy to be the host for that event.

He just wants to go there again because he got so much attention at the last Passporter Adventurer's Club meet.

You could be right there! The last time we went - when I got sick and we had to leave there after a few minutes he wanted to sit by the bar again, in the hope that he'd get picked on by Samantha...

I'm definitely going. Have a room at SOG reserved. Will be Hannah's 1st WDW trip (her mommy will be coming with me) and I've started making the token Ornament Gift (will be another stained glass orn) for the Ornament Exchange Meet
My first solo trip is Dec 8th-15th. Just in time for Mousefest. I don't really know much about it, but can't wait to get all of the details.
I am really interested in the photography that I saw listed for last year!!!
