Forums Closed
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.

So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.

Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.

We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.

There are other changes as well.

Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.

It's time to move on and move forward.

PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.

But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.

So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.

And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.

That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

Re: Colexi\'s Spring Break Adventure - Thread 3 of 3 - Updated 6/3

Day 8 – Friday, April 22nd ………An Early Start, but a Passporter Ending

It was up and at ‘em early today. EMH at MK this morning and since the crowds have been building all week, now was the time to go! We were all up and out of the room by 7:15 A great feat in itself As our luck would go this trip, a bus pulled up to the bus stop right after we had made it down there! And there was hardly anyone on it! A good sign!

We arrived at MK around 7:40, and had to wait for the rope drop. We were lucky enough to get up in the front right up next to the rope, so we’d be some of the first ones let it! Thankfully, Matt also brought the newspaper, we had something to read while we waited!

In no time at all, we were dashing down Main Street. Since we had not done the “family portrait” in front of the castle, this was the first item on the agenda I’ll scan in the Photopass picture at the end. First ride of the morning, the Indy Cars! Thankfully, there was hardly a line. We had about a 5 minute wait, but we were soon on our way! The kids enjoyed themselves as usual, and it was nice not to wait in a 30 minute line for this for once

I asked Alexa if she wanted to ride it again since the line was so short still, but she said no. I told her it was probably her last time to ride it since this was our last time in the MK this trip, and she still said no Okay dokie. We headed over to Buzz Lightyear, and stopped to take a picture with Pleakley!

The Buzz line was building, but we still made it thru in less than 10 minutes. Another great ride, although I’m sure I had a crappy score again! As usual, Matt had won again

We headed toward Fantasyland, and made a stop at the Teacups. I couldn’t even tell you the last time I was on the teacups. I’m sure it must have been when I was a little girl when I came with my parents (although I’m quite sure this is one ride my Mom would not go on )! I didn’t get sick, but I certainly got dizzy! I kept looking at Alexa so it would make it seem like nothing was spinning

The line for Dumbo was already quite long, so we opted for the Carrousel. Of course, Cinderella’s horse was waiting for Alexa

Hunger had gotten the best of us, since we hadn’t eaten yet, so we got into the long (and I do mean long) line for Scuttle’s Landing to get some food. It was the longest line in Fantasyland, and they only had one CM working there Matt went to grab a table under the pavilion next to Ariel’s Grotto. As I was waiting (and waiting) in line, I saw people lining up to meet Ariel. Gee, we’ve never done this before, maybe we should try it Boy, would I regret that statement :headsmack

We finally got our food, and sat down to eat. I think we ended up with some milk, a banana, a muffin (chocolate) and the only bagels they had left were cinnamon raisin, which Colin would not eat Ugh. After that, we hopped in line for Ariel. And waited………..and waited……….and waited. Thankfully, the kids enjoyed playing in the playground right there, because otherwise, it would have been meltdown city! It was also getting quite warm, it was going to be a hot day! The line was moving, and then it stopped for quite some time. Even though the attraction opened at 9, apparently Ariel was already tired and took a break after 25 minutes Thankfully we just beat the next closing of the line by one family I think we waited close to an hour for this, and I certainly won’t do that again! We got our picture, but it was hardly worth waiting that long for it. Live and learn!

We headed back toward Toon Town for some frozen lemonade. That helps to cool you off Then it was time for another Barnstormer run. Again, the lines were much longer than we were used to, it was probably a 20-25 minute wait It’s such a great ride, but it’s so short! The kids love it, so it’s worth it. Then it was time for a soak in Donald’s Boat. Boy, did that feel good. And boy, did the kids get wet! But they had fun doing it. Colin was soaked (dripping soaked) from head to toe, we had to change his clothes (good thing I brought a spare pair)!

It was getting close to noon, and getting crowded, so we made the decision to leave the MK We took the train from Toon Town back around to Main Street, took a potty break, and then headed out. The kids wanted to ride the monorail, so we decided to head to Epcot, via the TTC and the monorail. They were doing construction on the monorail platform at the MK, so you could only get back to the TTC via the resort side, which was very, very, crowded. We were packed in like sardines too. And it ran slow, presumably because of all the people that had to get off, and then on at the next stops. We were slowly on our way, and then made it to the TTC. When we made it up to that side, there was a green monorail there (Colin’s favorite) so he wanted to ride. But, Alexa wanted to ride in the front, and there were already people in there. So I asked the CM if we could wait for the next monorail, and ride in front. He said sure. Colin wouldn’t wait, he needed his green monorail, so he and Matt headed out on that one

After a few minutes, what should approach, but a “green monorail” . They’ve got both green monorails on the Epcot track today, poor Colin could have waited and ridden in the front with us! Oh well. We made out way to the front door, and there were 2 other boys from a family behind us that also rode in the front. The driver was being trained, he had another driver with him. It was a great ride, and Alexa was quite happy (as was I)

Matt was waiting on the platform when we pulled up, and videotaped our arrival! And we all got monorail pilot licenses Poor Colin had fallen asleep just moments after the monorail had pulled away from the TTC. It must have been the humming and swaying of the monorail that knocked him right out. I’m sure the heat had something to do with it today as well.

Coming Up Next........The last quest is fulfilled
