Brent and Liz's Valentine's day/Anniversary TR: Slippers, Satchels, Special Cinderellas, Surprises, Friends...and Ducks? - UPDATED 3/24 COMPLETE! - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

So, for those of you unfamiliar with our TR’s, we use the tag team approach. Brent gives his rendition and then I correct it, the ‘more correct’ version, or as I like to call it PROOF READING!
This is my response to the first post by Brent in the TR. I am a little behind as I worked alot this week.
First off.....THANK YOU so much for all the comments about the weight loss. While I still have a ways to go I must say I feel incredible!! I wasn't abnormally tired at the end of the day, I didn't "not do" anything because my stamina was low. My feet survived the trip much better than usual, except the broken sandle....Hmmmm, wonder if that is anything like Cinderella's shoe incident, just thought of that!
I have to agree with Brent on one thing….this was by far out most amazing trip. So many special moments and Disney magic. Every time we go, we say “now, we can’t possibly be disappointed but there is absolutely no way we are going to be able to top the previous trip. This time, we out did them all!!
Brent’s intros were pretty good. I consider him more of a Cinderella FREAK than a fan…..but who is mincing words here. I suppose it’s a healthy obsession……of course, not as understandable as my fascination with my endearing Tink. He is usually a pretty down to business type guy but tends to cut loose for vacation and I love it. I teased him after we returned and told him he is soooo the guy that Diamond Rio talks about in that song ‘Bubba Hyde’. “It even refers to the guy driving a baby blue vehicle!! (baby blue=Cinderella)….Hasn’t missed a day of work in 13 years….(line in song).” The guy in the song just breaks lose on the weekend......Check out the lyrics to that song……you tube it! You will get much better insight into Brent on vacation! The way he introduced me…..I wish I was a young silver of a wife…..thanks doll! I have recently become more involved with being healthy. Love everything Disney, especially Tink and Snow White. I am a mother and a nurse, I work psych……which helps me relate to my darling Hubby! Just Kidding! Love my job but even more, love my vacation time and I try to spend every possible moment of it at Disney World with my favorite prince!
Yes, the plane ride was a rough one, I’m a nervous flyer anyway. Of course Brent doesn’t encourage that fear at all……like the remark that comes to mind when I was nervous one time, he looks right at me and says “do you know there are only 4 bolts holding the wing on!!” The dr gave me medication before to fly to help with nerves. I think I would have benefited more by giving it to him so he would nap! LOL. Like he said I had a sinus infection going in, the ear popped and once I hit “dizzy” I then escalated to “nauseas” in about 2 minutes. I didn’t want to let Brent know I wasn’t feeling well. I didn’t want to ruin his first night on vacation but I was feeling very bad. I tried to put on a happy face and thought if I struggled thru dinner I would get a good night’s sleep and be ok. I don’t remember much about the eve except the spiral of dizziness and nausea but I do remember hitting Chef Mickey’s and smelling food, that was a significant turning point…….and it wasn’t a good one! We went up to that area where they take your pictures and I must have been showing some wear, the photographer said “do I need to call first aid?”, I turned to Brent and said “if they don’t hurry and snap the picture they are going to need to call housekeeping”. We made it through the picture and I abandoned Brent with the little pager to sit on the bathroom floor for quite awhile. I realized at this point when I couldn’t tell floor from wall that the dizziness wasn’t going away. So I made the call to cancel dinner, I was so sad that I disappointed Brent but just couldn’t do it. My wonderful Prince got me safely back to the hotel and tucked my before going after some dinner. What a wonderful guy…..seriously, I was so thankful he was there to take care of me and not be angry about it.
The next morning ……I was feeling good, sans voice!! What?!?! I can't be on Disney vacation with no voice! Brent really had a real vacation....at Disney and a wife who can't talk. Every mans dream, I'm sure. LOL Brent covered all that pretty well. Well, except for the incident with the pretty blond parking attendant in the parking lot. LOL. So, we get to the parking lot earlier than most people, park right up front. We get out of the car and Brent starts walking toward the trolley area. The pretty little attendant says to him “I’m sorry Sir, there is no trolley in this area”, he looks baffled and says “Why?”, she nicely points to the walkway out to the TTC area and says “well, it is closer to walk than to walk to the trolleys” Brent turned around and realized that he had parked directly in front of the entrance to TTC! Yet he was walking AWAY from it to get a trolley to take him there! LOL. Guess that curbed his blonde jokes for the day…..ha ha!!
I was soooo excited with my necklace that my darling prince gave me!! It matched my ring perfectly and I just loved it! It is perfect! Jewelery is always a hit and TinkerBell ......well, you just can't go wrong with Tink! He is just amazing! I am very lucky! Tink liked it too, although I think she still likes to give Brent a little bit of a hard time. And I fully enoucrage that as it leads to much of my vacation pleasure!
