As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

not sure if this is the place to do it, but i figured i might as well make an entrance somehow without trying to just slip in unnoticed on various posts, so here goes.
i'm working on plotting out my trip to wdw from 9/26-10/4 (staying at POP). it's been an embarassingly long time since i've been there last and in fact i'll probably be going again for a couple of days in december, so i'm making up for lost time. as it is, i just got back from my first trip to disneyland not so long ago.
so anyway, i hope to spend the next few months learning as much as i can about the parks (already read several guides, including the passporter) and a few websites, but i've found forums are generally the best way to keep on top of things.
so with nothing really important to add at the moment, hi.

Tuesday 9/27 - MGM (with EMH)
Wednesday 9/28 - Epcot, taking a break when I work my way to the IG to go play miniature golf at Fantasia Gardens, returning to Epcot for the remainder of the day / Illuminations
Thursday 9/29 - AK (I know this is a one day park and part of me wants to take advantage of EMH since the animals should be more active for a longer period of time, but I also don't want to miss the welcome show which I understand is not held on EMH days), La Nouba @ 9
Friday 9/30 - MK all day, taking advantage of EMH, paying special attention to entertainment schedule + taking photos, probably breaking for a long bit in the afternoon, returning for MNSSH by 4-4:30
Saturday 10/1 - Early AR for Crystal Palace, partially for the breakfast itself, also for a chance to get in some photos of an emptier park (or at least what I can see), maybe last until afternoon, then head to MGM
Sunday 10/2 - MK (no EMH, so I can see the welcome), followed by more mini golf at winter summerland, returning to MK for MNSSH
Monday 10/3 - Backstage Magic tour
Tuesday 10/4 - Epcot (EMH)
Your plans look excellent. The only suggestion I would make is that you might want to consider hopping over to another park from your EMH park as the day progresses to avoid huge crowds. We usually do the first few hours in an EMH park and then hop to a different park once the crowds start to get thick (usually around 11 a.m. or so).
thanks, but how do you choose the park to hop to? presumably most of the parks (if not all) will be heavier in the afternoon. i can see if you're finished touring the park and then just need a change of pace (or, probably better yet, a break), but personally, i could probably happily spend all day on TOT no matter how long the lines get (as long as i got to ride it a few times when they were short)

Hi and welcome to the boards!!! We are also going from in Sept/Oct. (9-23 to 10-1), we will surely pass each other I am sure!!! I noticed that you have two nights that you are going to the MNSSHP are you aware that you need tickets for that? It runs from 7-12 on the nights that it is offered. The ticket prices are 34.95 for adults and 27.95 for children(3-9), of course these are with tax extra. You can call now for the tickets I will have to research the number it's been a while since I called, the number got thrown away! You can also make ADR for Liberty Tree Tavern or Tony's Town Square when you get your tickets for that night. Just wanted to make sure you knew so you were not dissapointed when you got down there.
yes, thanks, i am aware. i've already actually purchased the tickets. got an ap discount at that, so both nights cost me ~$63. well worth it for what it'll give me i'm sure.
