10 Nights of Magic in The Orlando Trifecta-TR - COMPLETE!! 12/10 - Page 81 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

More great wanderings and samplings around the World Showcase! I enjoy the 360 degree movies in China and Canada, but my feet usually protest having to stand for the shows after being on them so much in the parks!

I'm so glad you got to see the China movie finally. I really love it, and its so special seeing the view all around you. I always turn around many times to see what's 'behind me', and it's surprising to me that most people remain facing forward.
I agree the train is a must-see. I was disappointed to learn they did not decorate it this year for F&W. I wonder why. One of my favorite photos is when I saw an (actually tiny) lizard on top of a house. I caught the photo and without any other perspective, it looks like Gozdilla
Too bad about missing the Voices of Liberty show - always a reason to go back. Still, I often find myself a little disappointed at having to miss things, but you simply can't do it all. For my upcoming trip I've scheduled an extra Epcot day, as I never feel as though I've had enough time to really explore the pavilions in as much detail as I'd like.
I've never seen the barge that close before

Have a great time in Vegas!
Thanks. I enjoyed the film a lot.

I enjoyed the offerings I sampled. It was more low key this time as opposed to 2016 during my first experience.

I was looking around as well during the movie as you get to see much more. That's funny with the Godzilla comparison with the train! There's always so much more to see and do at WDW as you can't do everything! Just save for next time!

Hope you had a great time! It's so funny, about four of my friends were in Vegas at the same time as you were - I kept seeing all their posts and thought of you!

Thanks Cheryl! I had a great trip and the first three days there were seven of us and the rest after that I was on my own. Saw and did a lot and there will be a TR, once I finish this one!

Well, I’m back after eight great days in Las Vegas! There will be a TR and I can’t wait to share it with all of you here. But first, I need to finish this one first as I returned from this trip just about a year ago.
Thursday, October 12th (Part IV) I continued my walk around the World Showcase and plan on going all the way to the International Gateway, where I will return to the Dolphin before dinner.
My next stop was the Japan pavilion and is yet another beautiful pavilion in the World Showcase. I don’t think there is one I don’t like, but I certainly have my favorites. The Matsuriza drummers were putting on a show and I decided to watch a bit of this as always enjoyable.
Then it was on to Morocco, but I just basically passed through as there were no performances going on. At least I got to see some of these earlier this trip.
I wasn’t about to have any food offerings as I had an ADR for dinner coming up in a few hours and none of the beverages interested me much. Well, that’s not to be said about France, which would be my next and final stop today!
Even though, I had an Orange Slush earlier in the trip, I decided to have another one. Who says you can’t repeat? Especially, with something this good! I went to Les Vins de France kiosk out front to get one. There were only a couple of guests ahead of me in line, so not too bad.
Always so good! It’s made of Orange Juice, Rum, Orange Grey Goose Vodka and Grand Marnier
I enjoyed my beverage for a while and then walked towards the International Gateway to eventually return to the Dolphin. But, not before making a stop first.
Here’s where I made my stop
I went inside to see if there were any Epcot tee shirts that I was interested in. There were a couple of them that looked good. I finally settled with one of them after contemplating which one to get. I decided on this one as it commemorates Epcot’s 35th anniversary. It’s orange and features the original Epcot design. That works for me.
I may have mentioned this earlier, but I don’t think I purchased my set of four tumblers for the 2017 Food & Wine Festival at the Festival Center, but here. I think it was a matter of not having to carry them around for several hours.
My purchases were selected and I paid some of it with the remaining balance I had on my Disney Gift Card I was using for the food and beverage offerings at the festival. Once I was finished I went outside to begin the walk back to the Dolphin. Now, since I had the tumbler set in a bag, I decided to take a Friendship boat back instead as it is a bit heavy. Besides, it’s too hot and I don’t feel like walking! This was definitely the right decision. When I got to the boat dock, there wasn’t a boat there, but I figured one will be here soon. In the meantime, I got a few photos of the area.
After about a five minute wait a Friendship boat began to approach. Even though, I will be the third stop, it’s fine with me as I’m ready for a nice relaxing ride, instead of returning by foot in the heat and humidity.
Once the boat docked and the passengers disembarked we were allowed onboard. I took a seat by the window over on the right side. After a long day in the parks, I was about ready for a nap. It was about 6:15 pm and I’d have time for one, once I returned to my room. My ADR is for 8:30 pm and is close by. There will be very little transportation involved.
Soon I was on my way back to the Dolphin with stops at the Yacht/Beach Club and Boardwalk resorts. It was quite a relaxing ride, which I enjoyed. I nearly nodded off on a few occasions. I still managed to get a few photos during the journey.
After stopping at the two resorts we approached the Swan and Dolphin. I enjoy this as I can see my room from the boat as I mentioned earlier in the TR. It’s in the green section on the right near the first palm tree on the left.
Once we docked, I disembarked and entered the Dolphin and up the stairs to the east elevators just behind the lobby. Once, I returned to my room, I got what I would need ready tomorrow for the Animal Kingdom. It wouldn’t be as long of a day like a couple of days ago, but it would still be quite extensive. After this I turned on the TV and shut my eyes for a bit of a nap. It felt quite nice in the room with the a/c on.
NEXT: I’m Hoping This is Better Than My Last Time Here in 2005!

Sounds like a nice relaxing finish to your time in Epcot that day and I don't blame you taking the Friendship back. They're perfect to use on hot days like that!
