10 Nights of Magic in The Orlando Trifecta-TR - COMPLETE!! 12/10 - Page 80 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!
Welcome! We're happy you've found the PassPorter Community -- the friendliest place to plan your vacation to Walt Disney World, Disney Cruise Line, Disneyland, and the world in general! Yum, some great eating and drinking at the festival! I think that the word spicy might have deterred me from trying the Apple margarita, but it sounds really yummy!

I enjoyed the various eats and beverages at the festival. The margarita was quite good and look forward to having it again.

I'm not a margarita fan per se, but I might be tempted to give that one a try!
Love the trivet, I would love to get one of those as well!
You may just like this one as so good! The trivet was quite nice and use it quite a bit.

More Experiences at the Epcot Food & Wine Festival!
Thursday, October 12th (Part III) I continued my walk around World Showcase for the Food & Wine Festival with some more eats and beverages at the booths. But, first I did something else in World Showcase. My next stop was China.
China is one of the more beautiful pavilions, but for some reason I don’t spend much time exploring it. This is something I need to do more often here and some of the other pavilions. One thing I had never done is see the Reflections of China show. I felt, now was a good time to see it. I checked the show times and the next one was in about 15 minutes. I entered the rotunda area outside the theater and waited until we could enter. There were several guests here waiting besides me.
Waiting room outside theater
Shortly, a CM came out and gave us an introduction and overview of the show. It’s a 12 minute film and shows a lot of the sights and beauty of the country of China. It has a 360 degree view and there is no seating and is viewed standing up. It’s very similar to the film I saw in the France pavilion last year.
In just a few more minutes we were let in the theater to watch the film. It went by fast and I enjoyed all the sights and sounds of the film. It was very well done and especially with a 360 degree view, which enhances the experience quite well.
After the film, I exited the pavilion and paid a visit to the China kiosk at the festival. I looked over the menu and saw a few things that interested me, but I just settled with one.
There were only a couple of people in line, which is always good and helps being a Thursday. I will not go to the festival on the weekend as I saw the crowds last year on a Saturday! Although, I just went to Chefs de France for lunch on my departure day. The lines were insane as you’ll remember from my TR. But, not today!
Beijing (Peking) Roasted Duck in a Bao Bun with Hoisin Sauce
This was quite enjoyable and had a lot of flavor to it. Although, it was a bit messy with the sauce. Glad I had some napkins!
After this, I continued around World Showcase and to the India booth for a beverage.
Mango Lassi
This was so good and was a non-alcoholic drink. A good way to have something else. I’ve had these before and are so flavorful. There were big chunks of mango in it. It is a bit filling and like another food sampling for me.
I continued my walk with my next stop in Germany. But, it wouldn’t be a food/beverage stop but for something else that I must see on every trip!
This is my must see! For good reason as I always enjoy watching the trains going through the tunnels and German village.
I continued to more pavilions and took it slow. There would be no additional food sampling, but a couple more beverages. It was closing in on 5 pm and I had a late ADR at 8:30 pm, so I had to save space for dinner later. I felt fine, even in the heat as I was making sure to stay hydrated as the beverages can take their toll, even those at the booths which may or may not be a full-size offering.
Next up was Italy and one of my favorite pavilions. I’m not sure what my favorite one is as they are all done so well with the theming and experiences.
This is where I stopped for a beverage. Kind of a funny kiosk with the donkey. It’s across from Tutto Italia Ristorante.
I went with a Bellini which was quite good, light and refreshing!
I kept walking and enjoyed my Bellini while doing so. Although, I didn’t stop at the American Adventure pavilion. I should have to see the Voices of Liberty show as it’s been many years since I’ve seen it. Hopefully, on my next WDW trip! My next stop would be Japan, but first I got some photos before arriving there.
Preparations underway for Illuminations
So cool to see this so close up and not at a distance during the show!
I was hoping to complete my afternoon in the World Showcase for this TR but, I am going to have to cut this short and continue it in the next update. There will not be another update before October 13/14!
I’m leaving for Las Vegas on Thursday morning for vacation and I still need to pack. I just have my clothing to do as nearly all else is done, which is good! It will still take some time as tying up everything else before I leave. I will be there for eight great nights. It won’t be a solo a trip at least for the first few days of this!!!
There will be a TR but I want to get this one finished first. It may be a while as there are two full days left to complete in this TR! I didn’t do a PTR for my Las Vegas trip as my current TR has been going on so long. I will incorporate it into the TR or perhaps do a separate PTR, even though it will be after the fact. We’ll see!
NEXT: It’s Too Hot and I Don’t Feel Like Walking!

Have a fun trip to Vegas!
You are having a nice time walking around WS and taking in the sights. We love the train as well. Good that you got to experience the movie in China. We enjoy that as well. Just wanted to point out that it’s the film in Canada that is also one where you stand. France has auditorium seating.
Oh my gosh!! Have so much fun in Vegas!!! I hope your win a million bucks!!
Your WS reporting is outstanding!! I hope to try one of those Bao buns this year!! I think they changed the meet but everyone raves about them!! Your drinks all look delicious and I am excited to hear about your dinner!!

Thanks.
The WS is so enjoyable at this pace. I forgot about the seating for France. Still got to see the Canada movie.

Have a great time in Vegas! A trip report... so what happens there doesn't stay then...?
Great samplings from the various Food and Wine Festival booths.
Thanks! I guess you are correct in regards to this! I like that one!
I enjoyed the offerings from the festival.
