10 Nights of Magic in The Orlando Trifecta-TR - COMPLETE!! 12/10 - Page 67 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

What a great time in AK! Glad you enjoyed so many rides on EE. Can’t wait to hear about RoL! Great pictures!
Glad you enjoyed all the photos! EE was a blast at night and the best way to experience this ride for sure! You will certainly enjoy my ROL coverage as there will be so many, I mean so many photos!

My TR from my most recent trip is now underway. Includes: Universal Studios Florida, Disney World and Sea World Orlando Trifecta TR -Updated December 10th! TR is now COMPLETED!
Tuesday, October 10th (Part VII) After exiting Expedition Everest, I walked across the bridge adjacent to the “Finding Nemo” show to check in for the VIP seating for the Rivers of Light show. There were several people waiting in line for the show here, but it moved quickly. The theater was about half full currently and would fill to capacity by the start of it in about twenty minutes. I handed a CM my ticket and they told me where there were some openings for seating in the VIP section. They are trying to fill this as best as possible, so there aren’t a lot of open areas in the rows.
I got to my seat and lucked out as I was at the very first seat in row two. No complaints from me on this location! The show is at 8 pm and not too long to wait. I just hope the show lives up to its’ potential as I’ve read some very good reviews of it. Also, considering the problems they had with finally opening the show with the long delay. This was due to the barges sinking out on the lake during the test runs. That could certainly cause a bit of a problem!
The theater has filled up quite nicely for the show
Love the lighting, but the show has yet to begin
A bit of a pre-show with these characters.
It was now time for the show! The theater darkened and I think there was an introduction from a prerecorded announced ala Illuminations. It’s a big theater and covers a lot of ground. There will be a lot going on and one will need to focus from one area to the next during the show or you may miss something. So here we go and the photos will do most of the talking and just a comment from me from time to time! As the name of the show suggests, there will be water, light and plenty of visuals!
These look like some variety of flower pods
This is quite something when light, water and amazing visuals come together!
I love all these fluorescent animal characters!
Quite an amazing effect!
This is beyond amazing with the water and lighting effects!
Quite a spectacular show so far and quite unique and so well done!
I love the color of this!
I enjoy the visuals and imagery of this as I tried to concentrate and figure out what the specific images were!
Looks like a bird in flight!
Another amazing water and lighting effect with great visuals!
It was about now, that the show began to wind down. Twenty minutes certainly go by fast when you’re enjoying something so much! But, there are still many photos left of this spectacular show as I wanted to capture it all with my first experience!
I loved this cool water effect with the lighting!
The boat reappears for the finale
Love the owls!
Close-up of the women on the boat
Well, that’s it! Before I knew it, this great show was over! I enjoyed seeing this show for the first time and it was so well done. It was perfectly executed from start to finish. I loved the various elements of it and how water, light and visuals were incorporated into one amazing experience and show! I will certainly return! I’m glad I did the Rivers of Light dining package for a great seat for the show and without waiting in long lines to get in for the performance. I will probably do it this way the next time I see the show.
Once, the show ended the crowd as well as myself began to file out of the theater. It was an easy exit without much waiting as the crowd filed out of different exits from the various sections of the theater.
My Animal Kingdom day was winding down, but I still had one other thing I wanted to do in the park before returning to the Dolphin for a bit of relaxation.
NEXT: I Wish I Had Timed This a Little Better!

Great ROL pictures. You have convinced me to try it again! We are officially booked for a ROL dining package with Tiffins. I'm actually very excited and I will try to watch it for the beauty of the colors, but I'm still not sure what the purpose of the boats are for??
So glad you enjoyed Rivers of Light! Great work on your photos, too!
It was well worth going to and such a great show! So different from any of the other nighttime shows in WDW! Glad you like the photos as there were many!

Great photos from Rivers of Light! Isn't it wonderful?
It is so spectacular and just loved it so much! Not quite ready to put it above Illuminations as that show is just so special and unique to me! I know you'd agree with me on this! Glad you enjoyed my photos!

Wow Dave, you took some amazing photos! Absolutely stunning! What a great night! Glad you enjoyed it!
Glad you enjoyed the photos so much and I was surprised how well they came out with the color changes, lots of moving objects and being at night! All were done with my Galaxy Smartphone! They are known to take good photos. It was such an amazing show and will return in the future!

Glad you enjoyed the photos! I know you weren't overly impressed with the show when you saw it for some reason! Forget why! I think you'll enjoy Tiffin's and worth it over TH as it's the regular menu with no exemptions and a good deal! You should have good seating as I did for the show and shouldn't have to wait in a long line as I didn't. Not sure about the boats either but I think it adds something with some colors and water effects I guess!
