The Trip Full of Spontaneity TR July 22-26 - Page 11 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

After the beautiful River Ride, we wandered around Pandora a bit. I don't see well in the dark, but thankfully this are glows enough that I fee comfortable enough making my way around. Unfortunately I started to have an upset stomach. Weather it was my late dinner, the heat or what I don't know know. But I was ready to hear back to the resort before Extra Magic Hours were over.
The drum show really is impressive.
We were able to catch the last night time show on the Tree of Lofe as we left. Finally, Tim was able to see it.
We headed back to the resort after saying goodbye to Mark, for this trip anyway.
Amy between your pics and what we saw on new expo show for Animal Kingdom this morning on Animal Planet We will definitely be adding some extra evenings there. Oh and for all he did I say Mark gets all the s=extra Mickey Bars he wants
We slept in again the next morning, and took our time getting to the bus stop. I still was not feeling 100%.
We didn't have to wait long for a bus.
And soon we were at Magic Kingdom.
We headed up to the train station and had to wait a bit for a train.
Soon enough one came and we boarded. We were delayed starting however. Unfortunately one family was having some issues. The father hauled off and slapped his young child, causing him to fall to the ground right by the train. There a few people who spoke up and Cast Members came over. I'm not sure exactly what happened, but I don't think they boarded the train.
Eventually we got on our way.
We got off in Frontierland and went to Pecos Bills for lunch. I got the tacos and Tim got the nachos. The chicken taco was okay. However the beef one I did not care for. The flavor and texture was very bad to me. Maybe it's because I really wasn't feeling well, but I hardly ate anything at this meal.
We finished there and we rode Pirates of the Caribbean. We also rode Haunted Mansion. I believe we snuck in Splash Mountain for Tim and it's a small world for me, and a visit to Philharmagic. Then Tim decided he wanted to go see the Tiki Room show and eat a citrus swirl while in there. The citrus swirl was new to us.
I was really not feeling good at this point. I ate my fair share of the ice cream, and enjoyed the air conditioning. However, after the show I told Tim I needed to head back to the resort. I needed him to get me a Powerade. He decided a swim break was in order too.
At the bus stop we saw some Minnie Vans
It had gotten very hot and very crowded. I didn't realize that I was having great anxiety about this. We discussed on the bus about our dinner plans that evening. After having an upset stomach Skippers Canteen didn't sound good. I modified it, pushed it off until the next day and then cancelled it. We could not settle on plans for the next day either, so I canceled our lunch plans for the next day too. Tim brought up using those two credits on a meal that evening. I thought that was brilliant and grabbed Narcoosees for the perfect time to see the fireworks. Not in the heat and not in the crowds.
So Tim swam, I did a little laundry, and we both refreshed and rehydrated. We then made our way to Narcoosees. We took the ferry again.
We were there a bit early, so I took a few pictures.
We were called back and they had decorated our table for our anniversary.
I already knew what I was going to order. Tim decided that an appetizer and a side is mashed potatoes would be a good idea too.
The appetizer was the watermelon tomato caprese salad. This was amazing. We split this. My husband has not been one for balsamic glaze, but this salad made him love it again.
We told our server that we wanted to watch the Happily Ever After fireworks and he was wonderful. He paced our meal perfectly.
Now I had seen the projections on the Castle in June, so I was okay not being able to see them fully from this perspective. I was a bit disappointed that they didn't have the music piped in this evening however. But not being in the crowds made it perfectly fine in my book.
Right after the fireworks the Water pageant started.
Tim had ordered the scallops. He loved them, but especially the pasta and sauce that came with them.
Their signature mashed potatoes were delicious.
I ordered the butter poached twin lobster tails. They were delicious. The corn soufflé was also good.
The server also gave us complimentary champagne for our anniversary.
I ordered the almond crusted cheesecake. Yes I know you normally get one but I was pixie dusted. I don't really care for almonds but got this because everyone raves about it. I didn't care for it. I should have ordered something else. I could only eat one. We took the other one back and Tim ate it for breakfast the next morning. He loves almonds!
Tim got the chocolate coconut creme brûlée.
He said this was good, but he should have ordered what I did.
We got there just as a boat was arriving. The water pageant was going right by again.
We stopped at the Poly, then headed back to the Magic Kingdom. We were the only ones on the boat. We headed to the bus stop. There was hardly anyone in line. We waited and waited and waited. We glanced over at the All stars reorts and there were masses of people. Clearly that is where the buses were going. I know you tend to wait awhile sometimes at park closing. And we did. 45 minutes later our bus finally showed up. There was maybe 10 people in line. I chatted with a lovely lady who was from Brazil but was living in Miami. It's a good thing we chatted because she almost missed her bus stop and would been really lost if I hadn't told her it was her stop!
This was a lovely last evening in the most Magical Place on Earth. I was feeling much better!

We did but him dinner and more as a thank you. He's an amazing friend! Definitely plan some evenings there. It is gorgeous! Pictures really don't do it justice.

Thanks for sharing the photos from after dark in Pandora - it looks very neat.
Sorry you weren't feeling well, but it sounds as if it worked out for the best with a superb meal at Narcoosee's. Oh my goodness, that watermelon tomato Caprese salad sounds amazing! What a great view you also had of Happily Ever After and the Water Pageant.
Glad you took it easy with feeling under the weather. Sometimes a nice refresh is just what you need. Your dinner sounds amazing and how lovely to see the fireworks from Narcoossees!!

The salad was probably one of the best things I've eaten, no joke. Amazing flavors. It just made my taste buds happy. The whole meal was very good. Pandora at night is gorgeous!

A refresh is exactly what we both needed. Dinner and the fireworks were wonderful.
I can't wait to see Pandora glowing at night. That was disturbing for a father to slap a small child so hard he fell. Shame on him! Dinner at Narcoossee's seemed like the perfect way to finish, especially since you got to see Happily Ever After without the crowds.

Pandora is breathtaking. That father was disturbing. I felt horrible for that little boy. Narcoosees was perfect!
Pandora looks amazing at night and can't wait to see it for the first time in October! Looks like you had a great meal and time at Narcoosees! A lot of nice extras for your anniversary dinner from the CMs! Quite the view from your table for the HEA fireworks and water pagean shows! Certainly, a night you won;t soon forget!
