As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). We ate at Le Cellier about seven years ago and weren't impressed. It was like eating in a dungeon--dark and tables way too crowded together. The food was good but not that good for a restaurant that is now a Sig.
The Boathouse has an airy, bright and open atmosphere, good service and better food overall, we thought. The prices seemed steep for the fact that DH ordered a filet which cost FORTY bucks for nothing but the steak and a cup of steak sauce which tasted like a mixture of A1 sauce and bbq sauce, the consistency of pudding. It was strange.
My lobster roll was astonishingly good! The lobster tasted very fresh and had only a bit of minced celery and just enough mayo to bind it. Excellent! My mixed greens salad, however, was soaking in a puddle of overly vinegary dressing.
Nevertheless, I'd try The Boathouse if I were you. Overall, a much more satisfactory experience, IMO.

I haven't been to Le Cellier in a number of years. I think its a bit overpriced for what you get. And Dot is right, it's dark and the tables are very close together. I did eat at the Boathouse in November, though. I loved it. Neither DH or I ordered steak. I had the fried clam basket which was very reasonably priced and fresh. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal there. I can't remember what DH had but we both really enjoyed the restaurant. If I had to choose between the two, I would choose the Boathouse, but that's just my opinion.

I would choose the Boathouse as well. It's been years since we ate at Le Cellier, but though the food was good (not as great as everyone seems to think), I didn't care for the atmosphere. I wouldn't go back unless I was with someone else who was dying to go.
I'd also try Boathouse as well. The first time we went to Le Cellier we loved it. We had a great meal and enjoyed it. However we try it two time after that and were not as impressed. Maybe it was a bad day but...
I wasn't overly impressed with the boathouse. Plus would you be going out of your way to get to disney springs to dine there? Personally I'd stick with le Cellier.
I think I would do Boathouse. Le Cellier is good but not worth two credits and as someone else pointed out it is very dark...no windows...and very crowded as in the tables are very close together.

I have a problem with paying over $40 for just a steak, nothing else. I can get great steak where I live for a much lower price, plus sides. So we would not even consider eating there because of the prices. It has been years since we ate at LeCellier so I can't say if the food has changed. But we did enjoy it when we went and have no problem the the "cellar" theme.
My family has ate a Le Cellier and we really liked it. I am also a kid and I still find they had tasty food even fit for us. So if you are going with teens or kids they will like it there. The Cheddar Cheese Soup was great.
I have never ate at the Boathouse, but back in 2014 I did have dinner at Le Cellier and the steak, poutine, and cheddar cheese soup are to die for. I do here it is very difficult to get a ressie though.
Have never had the opportunity to eat at the Boathouse but the posted menu and TR reviews definitely intrigue me. We have eaten numerous times at Le Cellier and honestly have enjoyed every meal we have had there. Is it dark - yes. It can be a little tight also. We have had to wait 2x past our ADR (one way past) but the food made up for all of these items. We have never been rushed. The food always tasty and I have found the staff/chef very accomodating regarding requests. I don't think you can go wrong with either choice. I would probably base my decision on where I was spending my day/evening or strictly the menus if your schedule is flexible.
I really think both are really nice restaurants and it comes down to if you want some Seafood options for your meal. I also feel LC Steak Prices are high, but love the bread and Cheddar Cheese Soup. As for me I am a Seafood type of person so my choice would be for the Boathouse.
