Forums Closed
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.

So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.

Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.

We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.

There are other changes as well.

Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.

It's time to move on and move forward.

PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.

But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.

So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.

And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.

That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

Sounds like a fun stay at Universal with so many food choices in your hotel! I've never stayed there but been to Universal about 4 or 5 times. May stay there in future and do a split stay with WDW!

What I know about Sea World's Christmas Celebration so far!

From the website:

At SeaWorld’s Christmas Celebration™ carols fill the air, a sea of lighted trees sparkles over the lake in a wintery, watery wonderland, and world-famous skaters twirl on ice. With festive food, stunning live shows, and delightful entertainment inspired by the natural world, SeaWorld’s Christmas Celebration is where holiday memories are made. Stroll the lakeside Christmas Market and savor the cinnamon and spice holiday scents of delicious treats as you shop for unique, artisan-crafted gifts.
SeaWorld’s Christmas Celebration brings the season to the sea on select nights, November 25 through December 31, and is included with park admission.

They also have the hours posted on December 4th from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM. There are no specific show times posted yet but to get an idea of what is offered, I checked the schedules that are out, which sadly, are only through the end of September right now. But still!!. At least it gives us some idea of when they are scheduled. We love the shows at Sea World!!

From the website:

Clyde & Seamore's Sea Lion High®
11:15 AM, 1:00 PM, 4:00 PM

Blue Horizons®
10:30 AM, 2:00 PM, 3:30 PM, 5:00 PM

One Ocean®
12:15 PM, 2:00 PM, 5:00 PM

Pets Ahoy®
11:15 AM, 12:45 PM, 2:15 PM, 3:45 PM

I can't believe Clyde and Seamore are still around!!. I remember them from when the kids were little!!

Next we looked up the rides. My goodness! All of that was certainly not there in my last memory!!

It appears that Sea World now has 8 rides that we would be interested in!! When did that happen?!

There also appear to be a ton of exhibits!! I hope we can get through a good bit of the park in one day because that is all we have here!! Well, I guess whatever we don't get to, we will just have to come back and see!!

We are looking at the Seafire Grill for lunch. We will certainly have a full day here and if the Christmas Celebration is anything like last year's ( we have seen photos!) it looks amazing!!

Again, as I get more information, I will share it with you guys and believe me, I'll be checking for it!

On another note, we received our McCusker family Incredibles book yesterday!! I love this silly little booklet even though I already know what it says from cover to cover!!.

The SeaWorld shows are great, aren't they and yes they've been adding more and more rides. Every time we go, they seem to have another one.

I am seriously thinking we will not have enough time to enjoy everything at Sea World. When the schedule comes out for December, I think we will have to decide what we want to do most.

Okay, so this has only a tiny bit to do with Disney but!

We had a grand day today!! It is hot but beautiful here so we decided to venture out.

Our first stop was to see my niece in the hospital. That poor girl had an 8 pound (yes you read that right) fibroid tumor removed from her uterus!! She did great and we stayed for about an hour and had a lovely time with her and her mom.

Then we went to Marshall's and got a bunch of great stuff!! We bought Logan a fall jacket and a pair of work boots and an Eagles shirt. We bought Finnegan a Halloween jammie outfit, some Eagles onesies, and here is where the Disney stuff comes in, a Winnie the Pooh outfit with a matching hat complete with ears and a Tigger sweatshirt and sweatpants set!

We also got some cool Fall stuff for the house. We got a new set of Halloween lights, some fall candles, and a really pretty fall tablecloth. We also got some new kitchen towels (which I never seem to have enough of).

Then we came home and took Lilly for a nice long walk. We gave her some water and a milk bone and then went to go see my MIL. She got an infection in her colon last week and spent three days in the hospital and is now in a nursing home facility recovering. She looks great and hopefully will be home in a few days.

Then we went food shopping and bought some delicious looking NY strip steak for dinner. My neighbor bought us over some fresh tomatoes and peppers and some fresh homemade pesto and we also bought a nice loaf of Italian bread, so I think I will just make a salad and dinner will be complete!!

Also, the Eagles are on tonight, which makes me ecstatic!! They usually stink but I love them anyway and live for football this time of year!!!

To top the day off, my son sent me two beautiful pictures of Finnegan! He is now almost 8 weeks old!!

I realize that this has nothing to do with my WDW trip. Just wanted to share!!

Sea World sounds like it will have a lot for you two do do. I love how all the parks in Orlando get into the Christmas mood.

What a wonderful day you had today! We are presently watching the Titans (one of our favorite four teams) vs. Oakland. I love professional football and am so glad it is back in season. BTW -- We also love Chicago, Denver, and SF.
