As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). i've put my home energies into pruning the plum tree lately, but I have work to do in both DS's room, my desk area, and under the stairs, for starters. Also, my clothes storage appears to have developed a life of it's own, so that' needs to be tamed. Where's the bull-whip?

Not signed up to your challenge, but I'm pleased to report that DS16 and I spent the afternoon culling through his clothes (and mine that were in his closet), and have a HUGE pile of clothes to give away.
I decided to give away anything of mine that's two sizes too small--if I ever get back to that size, I will happily replace everything!
And I've talked him into hanging all his shirts and long pants, as a labor-saving measure--no more folding, except for shorts and PJs. His former MO was to put clean clothes in the hamper as he folded them, pulling them out of the hamper to wear as needed, and then drop the dirties on the floor all around it! Needless to say, his room was a mess (kinda resembled mine in college ). We have plenty of hangers for him now, as I'm getting rid of so many of my clothes, so I think this will keep his floor clear, at least.
Spent the weekend decluttering. Cleaned out our son's closet and our filing cabinet. But of equal importance is completing projects that had pieces strewn around my house.
Okay...wasn't as productive a weekend as I hoped, at least not at my house!!
Saturday I just spent the day cleaning...the living room looked like a tornado went through...not sure how that happend!! I got rid of a few things but the biggest dent was in a box of old paperwork/filing (stuff we sooooo didn't need anymore). As I was shredding it, I counted the pages (I do that anyway because my little shredder can only take 3-4 pieces of paper at a time) and ended up with around 110 pieces of paper that got shredded. I DID NOT count them as 110...I decided that 10 pieces of paper was equal to one actual item...giving me 11 plus 23 other items to donate or trash for a total of 34 for the weekend. My overall total is 629!!!
The days on the calendar that are now checked off include:
Jan 27th - WHICH TOTALLY TAKES CARE OF JANUARY!!!!!!!
March 3rd
April 4th.
Now I'm working on February. I really want to get as much of February check off as I will be on vacation from the 17th to the 27th and I don't want to get too far behind.
This may seem like a silly way to declutter, but it's helping me keep motivated.

Everyone's doing so well! I hope you don't mind me chiming in, even though I didn't set a goal.
I had a brilliant idea this afternoon of what to do with the [large number of] Altoid tins I have: I called the daycare my sons once attended and asked whether they'd like them. The director said they welcome any craft donations. So, in addition to all the tins, I went to the basement and pulled out two good-sized bins of craft supplies from my days as a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader...we're talking craft foam, ribbons, doilies, tons of different-colored pompoms, pipe cleaners--all kinds of stuff.
The teachers were delighted and I think will fight over the contents, plus I eliminated literally hundreds of (small) items!
So think broadly when you're looking to unload your clutter. Goodwill wouldn't have been a good place to donate those things, and I might've gotten $5 on Craig's List for all that, and not have delighted anyone the way this donation did.
Here I am--starting one month late--but none the less-starting! My sewing/craft room went from a 14x14 ft room to an 8x10 room and half the closet space. I have much to accomplish this year so I'd better get started, especially since I currently can't get past the doorway.
I finally have taken this challenge seriously! The 27 fling boogie has worked for me in the past, so I have started there.
Ditched all of my old makeup and makeup bags.
4 boxes of children's donated to the PTO book swap.
3 bags of boys clothes to the St. Pauli organization
Collection of cute shopping bags recycled.
Broken laundry baskets and other baskets gone.
While it is barely a dent, and I am not focusing on any one room, I am happy to see things go.
My goals for February
12 foot clothing rack in the basement will be released of anything not worn by my family in a year.
Clothing steamer that is covered in dust
Boxes of old coffee mugs
Old kitchen appliances (toaster, coffee pot, etc.) the kids may someday want
2 boxes of old scrapbook magazines

I got through half my sewing room--I actually found my chair!!!! Goal for this week-finish the sewing room so I can open my machine and sew on my birthday!
I am slacking in the declutter department. My mom had back surgery last Friday and I have been going back and forth helping my dad take care of her and the house. I also work from home occasionally but since this is a busy time of year for my company, I'm working extra hours.
Hopefully I will have more time next week to finally make a dent in my office.
Yeah - didn't get much (meaning NONE) done this weekend. I have to get a little bit ahead of the game on my declutter calendar. BFF and I leave next Wednesday on our vacation so I want to be ahead instead of trying to play catch up when we get back!

I got the urge to purge my pajama collection today. I love pajamas and keep them long after I've stopped wearing them. So I filled one of those yellow Vietnam Vets bags with PJs and nighties!
While I was at it, I purged my t-shirts again, this time ruthlessly weeding out many I was just keeping for sentimental reasons.
Then I hit the shorts--I can actually close that drawer now without having to stuff the stray bits back in. If I get back to the size I threw away, those would be out of style and I can then buy new ones with pleasure.
All told, I now have three big bags of clothes to give away--I don't even want to know how many different items, but it feels good!

Amen, and good for you! Getting new stuff is fun, no reason to hold onto old stuff that doesn't work because it will "motivate" us to look like we did 10, 15 or 20 years ago!
I've been right in the middle of a bunch of weird declutter stuff. Will post more another time, but it's freaking HARD. Involves reorganizing storage in a major way. DH and I are finally working together on some of this stuff, after "stuff" caused a huge rift about 18 months ago. Hard but positive.
Well, I spent all day yesterday cleaning up my office/shoe storage area/dumping ground. I filled 2 lawn&leaf bags with trash, got my shoes organized AND now have an area where I can sit and put on makeup.
I also went through my jewelry and culled that down. I still have 3 drawers of paperwork to sort through and shred but at least I can now see the floor in here
