PTR: Spring Break in the Bubble (Updated 4/10/15) - Page 5 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Sorry I have been slacking a bit on updates - it is after 10pm and I am just now sitting today! Been helping Joie get things settled for the service tomorrow. Emily is taking child development in school and has one of those simulator babies this weekend, so I play "grandma/babysitter" when she needs to do something (including dance tonight) ; and my new next door neighbor (moved in this past summer while we were in Disney!) is in labor (5 weeks early ) so I have been running over to take care of their cat and 100 lb german shepperd that is a BIG baby and very confused as to what is going on. So whew! I finally get to settle down ~ although I am really feeling unprepared for this trip and will probably stay up a bit late tonight to try to at least go through the toilitries.
Anyway onto plans for Day 3: 4/14:
This morning we will start our day at Disney Hollywood Studios. Again, probably just grabbing something along the way for breakfast.
We have fast passes for:
9:45 - 10:45 am: Rock 'n Roller Coaster
11:00 - 12noon: Muppets 3D
12:40 - 1:40: Star Tours
Again, I really do NOT like the tier system for the fast passes We are hoping that we can get to the park for opening to get onto Toy Story Mania.
We will eat CS somewhere in the park for lunch, not sure where yet, but I am sure that if the girls have any say it will most likely be Toy Story Pizza Planet.
We plan to head back to the resort in the late afternoon - I am sure we will watch Beauty & The Beast and hopefully meet a few characters - and I am sure at least Scott, Cait & Joie will ride Tower of Terror (Emily and I are babies ).
This evening we have dinner at Ragland Road in Downtown for 7:30 p.m. We have other friends (Lisa #3 and her family if you remember that TR!) that will be in the area, so they may meet us in DTD either for dinner or drinks. (still waiting for them to decide if I should try to add them to the ADR).
After dinner we will either just hang out in DTD or possibly head over to MK (it is open late this evening) depending on how we are all feeling.
Up next: Day 4 plans

Wow, you DO have a lot going on! That's also a lot of babies - Amber (your grandbaby, who I was sad to see wasn't wearing anything Disney), the dog, and the actual baby on the way?! Have a glass of wine, you've earned it.
You won't do ToT, but will do RnRC?!? I LOVE ToT but can't stand RnRC!
Mercy, your plate is overfull. I've noticed that happens to quite a few of us here right before a big WDW trip. Your DHS plans look great, and we've really grown to love Raglan Road.
Yikes, what a crazy scene with the next-door fur babies, real baby, simulated grand-baby. That sentence is making me laugh, but it's no joke! I hope the new mom and baby are okay and their big baby of a German shepherd will be okay with the newborn. I think you need a vacation.... hey, you're almost there!

Thanks! Yes, it is! It does seem that these kind of things happen right before a trip.

Just a quick update on the "craziness":
My neighbor had a beautiful baby boy last night! He was 5lbs, 10oz which is pretty good for 5 weeks early! I can't wait to meet him!!! And the fur baby (Kenya) was thrilled again to see me today and tonight - especially because her daddy came home for a bit today and took a nice long nap with her!
The service for Tom's mom was today - and it was a beautiful service. It was quite different from any service we have been to, but in a good way. She didn't want a typical funeral, but rather a celebration of her life - and it was just that! It was held at a restaurant with plenty of tables and chairs, with candy and orchids (her favorites) on each table. Lots of great finger foods, and beautiful photos of her all around. Many people spoke in memories of her, a minister said prayers, and a family friend sang Amazing Grace. It was just a beautiful service!
The craft room renovation is coming to an end!! I am starting to put things away!!! And I have to get the bathroom prepped before we leave so that my brother can do the ceiling in there while we are away!
Still nothing on the packing.

Today we will begin our morning in Epcot with fastpasses for:
9:35 - 10:35 a.m.: Soarin'
11:35 - 12:35 p.m.: Mission Space
12:40 - 1:40 p.m.: Character Spot
We will possibly see more Flower & Garden stuff that we may have missed on our other visits to Epcot. I am pretty sure we will grab lunch at one of the food booths .
We will head back to the resort early afternoon, possibly some pool time.
Tonight we have dinner at Sanaa (although this might change depending on Joie and Caitlin's schedules - they might possibly go visit Caitlin's aunt on this day, so if they do that, we (Scott, Em & I) might take advantage of extra park time). But if we are going to Sanaa, our plan is to go over to DTD to take a bus from there to AKL.
After dinner, the plan is to return to Magic Kingdom for the remainder of the evening. We figure this will make transportation the easiest as well.
Up Next: Day 5 plans

Love the plans, so sorry about Joie's fiancés mom, but the service sounded beautiful. Always thought the celebration of life is such a wonderful way for friends and family to say goodbye over the more traditional wake / funeral.
You sure have been a busy bee, baby, dog and cat on top of everything else
My niece did the project with the doll a few years back....boy was that baby cranky
That really does sound like a beautiful service. I'm glad all the craziness has calmed down just a little, and glad that the new daddy next door was able to get a nap-- could be his last one for a while!
