As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Oh, I wish I could start that trip all over again. Thanks for your kind words!

Get this popular e-book free of extra charges when you join the PassPorter's Club for as little as $4.95. # 30 Cherry Coca Cola ü As I had mentioned in my PTR, Cherry Coke is one of my favorite drinks. The problem is that they don't sell this in Puerto Rico. So I got plenty of it while in the World.
# 29 New Test Track ü It was a great ride, but to me not much different from the older version. The interesting part was the designing of the car.
# 28 Mickey Pretzel ü It wasn't a Mickey shaped pretzel but it was a salty one so I'm totally counting it.
# 27 Kaki Gori I can't believe I didn't get one. Or AJ, who also loves them.
# 26 Pin Trading ü Now this was fun! It was the first time doing it and Adriel & I are hooked. But we are more the collector type than the trading type. I still haven't figured out how I'm going to display them at home.
# 25 Magic Bands ü I loved these! Thankfully ours didn't give us any problems at all. It was so convenient to have them there, on your wrists. No need to take out your card or anything.
# 24 Character Meets ü We had the chance to meet plenty of characters. Lots of new ones like Tinkerbell, Ana & Elsa, Talking Mickey, etc. It's funny cause' Abniel told me the other day that for next trip we're gonna meet as many characters as we can. You're on kiddo!
# 23 Haunted Mansion ü Love this ride! Now with the addition of the photo at the end, I can't wait to ride it again.
#22 It's a Small World ü This is a classic. It's not a trip to Disney World if you don't ride it.
# 21 Mickey Waffles ü Yummy, yummy, yummy!
# 20 Toy Story Midway Mania ü I'm very competitive, so this ride is right up my alley. On our second ride, I managed to smoke the rest of my family. That was awesome!
# 19 Chocolate Mousse Cake (Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe) ü It was the Viking Mousse but close enough, so I'm counting it. It was good but very rich. And I'm a chocolate lover. Got plenty of stares from the people passing by. It was a cute little dessert!
# 18 Festival of Fantasy Parade So sad I couldn't catch this. The one day I had designated to see it, it was cancelled due to rain. I've refused to watch any videos of it on the internet. I'm still holding up hope that I'll get to see it in person.
# 17 One Man's Dream ü First time doing it. I enjoyed seeing the history of Walt Disney and his parks. My family was bored though. I didn't get to see the movie because that would've been pushing it.
# 16 Fish & Chips ü Another yummy thing I got to eat.
# 15 Soarin ü A great ride, but I wish they would upgrade the movie.
# 14 Maharajah Jungle Trek & Pangani Exploration Trail ü I really took my time on these trails. My goal was to see the gorillas and I did indeed.
# 13 Kilimanjaro Safaris ü Two times on the ride, 0 lion to be seen. But I've grown accustomed to not seeing that lazy "King of the Jungle". Again, lots of animal sightings and I was happy to see the zebras and the giraffes.
# 12 Leisure Time ü Got to have some down time. My husband had plenty of it.
# 11 Shopping ü What woman doesn't like shopping.
# 10 New Fantasyland ü Beautifully done! The area is so pretty, so much detail. The Tangled restroom area was the best part.
# 9 Expedition Everest ü This is my favorite ride! Love the backwards part!
# 8 Disney Dining ü The main reason we go to Disney is food. Am I right? We went back to some of our favorites but we tried some new ones too.
# 7 World Showcase ü This is my favorite part of all the parks. This trip I had the chance to really explore the countries. I watched the movies in France and China, which I hadn't been able to do before. I could spend my whole trip here and I'd be a happy girl.
# 6 Tomorrowland Dessert Party & Wishes ü The party was a nice surprise I had for my guys. They loved it! And being able to see Wishes without having to fight the crowds was great. Desserts were good and there were plenty of options, even for my picky little eater Abniel.
# 5 Illuminations ü My favorite nighttime show! I may have cried a little while watching it. This time I did something different, I actually watched the show instead of taking pictures.
# 4 Passing under the WDW gates ü Once you see those gates you know you're in the bubble. It's a beautiful sight!
# 3 Walking up Main St. ü Even if you've visited many times, that first glimpse of the Castle gives me goose bumps.
# 2 Staying at Kidani ü Staying here was great! The room was so spacious. We didn't feel that we were on top of each other. The two bathrooms was so convenient for us. And having the washer/dryer in the room made things easier for me. The resort was beautiful! Loved seeing the animals at any given time. I often tell my family that I don't know how we'll ever manage to go back to a regular sized hotel room.
# 1 Spending time with the people I love the most ü Now, this was the best thing of all. These 4 guys are my favorite people in the whole world. And I love to spend time with them at my special place. There were times that I wished I could just ditch them but I got over that pretty quickly. I love them to the moon and beyond.
For those who read my PTR, remember those BINGO cards I made for the boys. Well they didn't complete any of them. But it was fun to do.
