Another August Adventure with a shot of Testosterone...TR Completed 2/19 - Page 22 - PassPorter - A Community of Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruise Line, and General Travel Forums
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Sounded like a great finish to your DHS day.
Love the pics of your room at BC, just beautiful!
Glad you got a lazy morning in before heading to MK. Great pics of FoF parade. I didn't get to catch it, but did catch the dragon as we came out of the Emporium as we were trying to leave.
Sounds like you guys were having a wonderful time together!!!
Great end to the day! Angel certainly looks like she's having a great time. I loved Fantasmic the one tome we saw it! Your room does look nice!
Its strange, Fantasmic is never something that is a must do for us, but then when we stay to see it we always wonder why it isnt because we all really enjoy it.

Love your meal at the Wave...definitely one of our family favorites and a great respite from the chaos of the MK.

We lucked out with the room, the last time I stayed at the Beach Club it felt like I was in the Shining each time I walked to my room....endless hallways. This time we were right off the elevator, could not complain with that.

I love the Wave, since the first time we went there we have had consistently good meals and wonderful service. I think it is one of the only places where we have walked out and had nothing that we could complain about. We had another reat meal there when we were there in November and we ended up chaning our February plans around so we could fit another meal in so it is definitely a favorite for us.

Well he is just such a nice relaxing place, good service....good food. They have always worked so well with Angel and my allergies. One of our top favorites.

We really had so much fun today with the pool morning and then a girl night. Defintiely was a great way to end the trip.

When I look back we really did not have much on our to do list for that day as we knew we were going to relax in the AM, but when I looked over our notes I was really shocked we got so much done that evening.

Looked like a fun time in the MK with some great attractions and a good meal at Mama Melrose's (DS) and The Wave a the CR. Never been to MM's as there is so much great Italian food hear in CT and surrounding areas. I've been to Tutto Italia. I liked it, but not overwhelmed by it as some are here. Venture to the NY/NJ/CT area and you'll have some real Italian food. Haven't tried Via Napoli for the same reason. Pizza prices are a bit ridiculous there!
I ate at The Wave once and the food was pretty good, but they had only been opened about a week when I was there. Service was a bit off too. Will give them another chance as it's been a few years and I hear a lot of good things about it!
Can't believe those 20 something guys were that tired after a day in the parks! I could see if they were 20+ years older, but they're not! They need to work on their stamina as they look fit!
You should definitely try the Wave again. You know its strange, I did go when they first opened as well. We had a good meal but it was not something that I felt we had to run back for. Then a few trips back we decided to try again and we have been hooked ever since. I also love their changing menus with the seasons. So its like a totally different meal even if we visit within a span of two trips close together.

We really loveed the parade. We missed it when we went back in November but it is on the list to see again when we head back in February.
So the Thanksgiving Break came and went and I still did not get to finish this report so here it goes.
August 13 - We Have to Go Home
So the girls were looking forward to spending our last day at Epcot doing some wandering and shopping however the boys wanted another lazy day by the pool.
So we decided to let them have their lazy morning, if they wanted to meet us at Epcot later they could for lunch and we would go have some fun at Epcot.
Before seperating for the day we called Bell Services who helped us downstairs so I could do Airline Check-in and also have our carryons stored. Once we did that we said goodbye to the boys and headed over to Epcot.
We stopped for some pictures as we took our last walk to Epcot for the trip.
We made it into the International Gateway and headed towards Future World with a stop to enjoy an empty UK.
We headed over to Future World just as the monorail was passing by, I always try for that perfect shot and miss it. Jasmine at least caught it this time.
I dont have my notes as I am at work but I do know we had a few Fast Passes, one for Spaceship Earth, one for Soarin and then if I remember correctly Angel has one for Mission Space with Alexa and Jasmine and I....ok I have no idea what we did but I do remember we all did Test Track SRL.
We finished off our Future World visit with a stop in Mouse Gears.
We then headed back to continue our touring around the World Showcase, which included a lot of snacking
Starting with lunch at the Catina San Angel, my kids could have Mexican everyday so this is definitely one of their favorites. We originally had a lunch at San Angel Inn but ended up cancelling it when we were not sure what we were going to do for our last day.
Now I know we tried one of these and they were yummy....
It seems after lunch we wandered past China as we visited on our other day at Epcot.
We stopped in Germany because the smell of Caramel was just to enticing to say no too.
And the girls wanted to finish up their "hat" photos.
The US....
They went with the umbrella look in Japan...
And Morocco...
We finally finished up in France, where not only did the girls need to take a hat photo but Jasmine and Alexa decided they needed a snack as well.
In addition to the "hat" photos the girls had to stop at every PhotoPass Photograher they found...they were trained well as we had tons of pictures on our Memory Maker from this trip.
It was hot and we were tired so we decided to head back to the resort and relax until our DME pick up which was around 5:45 PM.
We cooled off in the lobby, met up with the boys who had some wings at ESPN Zone for lunch and then soon it was time to head out.
It was time for the sad picture...
Our flight was on time and I think everyone was sleeping before the plane took off.
Hugo's parents met us at the airport to take him home and Alexa's parents picked the rest of us up and dropped us all off at home.
Leeor's friend came to pick him up and soon it was me and the girls settled back home.

A great last day and wonderful photos. I love the all-girl Photopass ones! And Jasmine's monorail shot is great. I've been known to sit and wait quite a while for the monorail to get that shot. I always spend my last hours with one last visit to Mouse Gears and one last tour of World Showcase. What a great trip this was!

My TR from my most recent trip is now underway. Includes: Universal Studios Florida, Disney World and Sea World Orlando Trifecta TR -Updated December 10th! TR is now COMPLETED!
What a great last few days. I love that you got to have some girl time and the boys probably enjoyed some guy time too. I'm always I'm impressed with how much you get done. Hope we get to hear about your birthday trip now!
I feel like it has been ages since I have been online, I stop and read a few posts and then something pulls me away. I guess it is good to say work is busy, but a slight break would be nice.
Then I realize well I have had a few breaks......lol
We have been to WDW twice for long weekend trips and while I just did not have time to do TRs I figured well I could probably post some pictures and then I forgot that I never finished off this TR with my final thoughts.
I hate leaving things unfinished
So for anyone still interested....
Flights - As always Jet Blue got us there and back, no issues. I really have no complaints about my favorite airline and they will continue to get my vote every time we travel.
Hotel - This trip we did a split stay, a few nights in two savannah room studios at AKL and two nights at the Beach Club in a 2 bedroom villa.
The Animal Kingdom Lodge is our favorite, it is our home and we love it. The kids all enjoyed watching the animals from our balcony. The loved the pool....no matter how many times we stay here we can never grow tired of the relaxed feeling we get once we get off the bus after a long park day and suddenly we are just in heaven.
This was the girls first time at the BC and they loved Stromalong Bay, I am so happy that I penciled in a pool morning so we could really enjoy. The 2 bedroom was a perfect location, right near the elevator - enough room that if I did not want to see the kids I did not have too (well except at night as the two little ones slept with me). We definitely enjoyed.
Dining - We did a lot of favorites on this trip, Yak & Yeti will always be a favorite. Everyone enjoyed Mama Melrose, and the two younger ones and I enjoyed lunch at the Sci-Fi, we had not been there in a few trips and we were glad we got back.
The Wave - again another fantastic meal, the boys were really impressed, I don't think I have ever had a bad meal here and we had wonderful service. The boys loved Rose & Crown and Angel was in her heaven as for the first time she got the green light to eat Fish and Chips - and she loved them.
Breakfast at the Crystal Palace was delicious as always (puffed French Toast is my favorite) and Jasmine had her time with Eyeore so everyone was happy.
We did more counter service this time, a change for us. We snacked a lot, but my girls are foodies so they like their table service restaurants.
Finally - The Non-Girl Trip - well we survived and we had a great time. I think a lot had to do with our traveling companions, they just had fun with whatever we did. The fact that they wanted to visit with characters, ride the carousel and just watch the fireworks....well it made this Disney Lover happy that Jasmine's boyfriend and best friend even at their age could still get into the love of Disney.
The last few days they were tired, heat and the fact that the girls and I can go, go, go....was something they were not used too but they were great at letting us have our fun and they finding something for themselves to do so everyone was happy.
All in all it was a great trip - Angel was so happy to finally visit with Alexa, Jasmine was happy to have Leeor and Hugo with us and me....well the kids were having fun and that is all that mattered.
