As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.
So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.
Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.
And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.
We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.
There are other changes as well.
Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:
We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.
It's time to move on and move forward.
PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.
But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.
So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.
And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.
That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!
If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.
So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Just caught up. Sounds like a great time so far. We only stayed at PoFQ one night a few years ago and didn't really get to enjoy it. My boys love Agent P also. Can't wait to read more.

Oh wait! We need a hard ticket for Agent P?! Will they still give us the hard ticket when we check in to the resort? I can not believe Agent P isn't Magic Band compatible yet. My DD will be nuts if she can't play.
Your pics are awesome! I look looking at them!! We haven't done American Adventure either but it might be nice to check it out as an AC break attraction! Lol

If you ask for one, they will give you one. You can even get it at Guest Relations in Epcot. However, I've been to Epcot since this trip was taken and I believe the experience is now working with Magic Bands.

It is so much better now that I actually can see the pictures! Thank you for all the pictures of POFQ!! It now solidifies my decision to stay there on our next trip!
I love all the topiary pictures and my favorites of course are the lady and the tramp, pooh and friends, and the cars ones! Sorry you had so many problems with the FP stuff...not sue how I feel about that yet!!
American Adventure is my favorite!! I could sit and watch the fife and drums for hours!!
You pictures are just fabulous!!!
I can't believe in all your trips you've never seen the American Adventure! It's not something I need to do every trip either, but it's okay. I really like the song at the end of it. How stupid that you can't use a magic band to get an Agent P communicator! That makes no sense.

I know...we are always rushing through and not taking nearly enough time to do things we should. I like the song....kind of.... When on hold with Disney it's one of the songs in the loop...and some days I am on hold for HOURS....so it gets old on those days.

I am known for fighting sleep anytime I sit down and take a break.

Too bad you didn't enjoy,. but I know not everyone loves every resort. I love Pop and I hear people who just don't care for it either. And then many people sing the praises of Beach Club and it is a nice resort....but not the top of my list.

I have heard it is being switched over to smart phones. I am not sure if it has started yet or not.

Yeah....I had a bit of complaining in the background too.

LOL! I know, I am a snob, but sometimes when I look for TR's to read about some new experience....if they don't have pictures.....I don't read it. At least you knew I did and eventually could see them.
I really enjoyed POFQ...I wish I could've stayed longer there.
Claire is a control freak with this game and last time we did it we argued a bit because she needed help, yet didn’t want me to touch anything. I told her this time she was on her own and if she needed help she would have to hand me the communicator so I could actually see what was going. Luckily she is older and a bit more mature now, so that was OK, and she also could work and understand the whole thing a lot better this time.
I took pictures as we walked around for her mission.
I have to admit that neither of us are familiar with Japans layout and never really went to the back to check that area out. The mission was telling us to go to places that neither of us had a clue where they were and the pictures were outdated, so we had trouble at times matching where they were.
We finally figured out where we were supposed to be. I had no clue this area was even back here.
Claire did her thing and next thing you know, Perry is coming out on a little boat.
He stops and sets a bomb and then takes off.
And then a big water explosion happens, which scares some of the people around us. LOL!
We moved on to the next spot. I found a plug and took a picture while Claire was doing her thing. With everyone needing to keep their smart phones charged these days to use the app, it’s a good idea to have a mobile charger…or if you don’t, bring along your charger and plug in when you can.
We next went into the store and this bizarre thing popped out.
It was funny as no one around us even noticed it.
We were finally done. This went much smoother this time around for us. No arguing for the most part and Claire could handle most of the mission herself. We then had to drop off the communicator in a secret location and we headed off.
We stopped to look at the topiaries, but it was hard to get pictures as so many people were lined up to get them in front of them as well.
I did the Kim Possible Missions a few weeks after they started. We went through maybe 5 or 6 missions (it was DEAD in Epcot that day, oh how I miss that!) and were so impressed with all of the new nooks and crannies of the countries we had so easily overlooked before. It gave me a whole new appreciation for World Showcase! Japan is one of my favorite pavilions so I'm happy you were able to notice some new things!

We never did do the Kim Possible one, but Claire sure enjoys Agent P. It was neat checking out areas we never usually venture too.
