Forums Closed
As of January 1, 2019, we have closed our forums. This is a decision we did not come to lightly, but it is necessary. The software our forums run on is just too out-of-date and it poses a significant security risk. The server software itself must be updated, and it cannot be without removing the forums.

So it is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to our long-running forums. They came online in 2000 and brought together so many wonderful Disney fans. We had friendships form, careers launch, couples marry, children born ... all because of this amazing community.

Thank you to each of you who were a part of this community. You made it possible.

And a very special thank you to our Guides (moderators), past and present, who kept our forums a happy place to be. You are the glue that held everything together, and we are forever grateful to you. Thank you aliceinwdw, Caldercup, MrsM, WillCAD, Fortissimo, GingerJ, HiddenMickey, CRCrazy, Eeyoresmom, disneyknut, disneydani, Cam22, chezp, WDWfan, Luvsun, KMB733, rescuesk, OhToodles!, Colexis Mom, lfredsbo, HiddenMickey, DrDolphin, DopeyGirl, duck addict, Disneybine, PixieMichele, Sandra Bostwick, Eeyore Tattoo, DyanKJ130, Suzy Q'Disney, LilMarcieMouse, AllisonG, Belle*, Chrissi, Brant, DawnDenise, Crystalloubear, Disneymom9092, FanOfMickey, Goofy4Goofy, GoofyMom, Home4us123, iamgrumpy, ilovedisney247, Jennifer2003, Jenny Pooh, KrisLuvsDisney, Ladyt, Laughaholic88, LauraBelle Hime, Lilianna, LizardCop, Loobyoxlip, lukeandbrooksmom, marisag, michnash, MickeyMAC, OffKilter_Lynn, PamelaK, Poor_Eeyore, ripkensnana, RobDVC, SHEANA1226, Shell of the South, snoozin, Statelady01, Tara O'Hara, tigger22, Tink and Co., Tinkerbelz, WDWJAMBA, wdwlovers, Wendyismyname, whoSEZ, WildforWD, and WvuGrrrl. You made the magic.

We want to personally thank Sara Varney, who coordinated our community for many years (among so many other things she did for us), and Cheryl Pendry, our Message Board Manager who helped train our Guides, and Ginger Jabour, who helped us with the PassPorter-specific forums and Live! Guides. Thank you for your time, energy, and enthusiasm. You made it all happen.

There are other changes as well.

Why? Well, the world has changed. And change with it, we must. The lyrics to "We Go On" for IllumiNations say it best:

We go on to the joy and through the tears
We go on to discover new frontiers
Moving on with the current of the years.
We go on
Moving forward now as one
Moving on with a spirit born to run
Ever on with each rising sun.
To a new day, we go on.

It's time to move on and move forward.

PassPorter is a small business, and for many years it supported our family. But the world changed, print books took a backseat to the Internet, and for a long time now it has been unable to make ends meet. We've had to find new ways to support our family, which means new careers and less and less time available to devote to our first baby, PassPorter.

But eventually, we must move on and move forward. It is the right thing to do.

So we are retiring this newsletter, as we simply cannot keep up with it. Many thanks to Mouse Fan Travel who supported it all these years, to All Ears and MousePlanet who helped us with news, to our many article contributors, and -- most importantly -- to Sara Varney who edited our newsletter so wonderfully for years and years.

And we are no longer charging for the Live Guides. If you have a subscription, it's yours to keep for the lifetime of the Live Guides at no additional cost. The Live Guides will stay online, barring server issues and technical problems, for all of 2019.

That said, PassPorter is not going away. Most of the resources will remain online for as long as we can support them, and after that we will find ways to make whatever we can available. PassPorter means a great deal to us, and to many of you, and we will do our best to keep it alive in whatever way we can. Our server costs are high, and they'll need to come out of our pockets, so in the future you can expect some changes so we can bring those costs down.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your amazing support over the years. Without you, there's no way us little guys could have made something like this happen and given the "big guys" a run for their money. PassPorter was consistently the #3 guidebook after the Unofficial and Official guides, which was really unheard of for such a small company to do. We ROCKED it thanks to you and your support and love!

If you miss us, you can still find some of us online. Sara started a new blog at DisneyParkPrincess.com -- I strongly urge you to visit and get on her mailing list. She IS the Disney park princess and knows Disney backward and forward. And I am blogging as well at JenniferMaker.com, which is a little craft blog I started a couple of years ago to make ends meet. You can see and hear me in my craft show at https://www.youtube.com/c/jennifermaker . Many PassPorter readers and fans are on Facebook, in groups they formed like the PassPorter Trip Reports and PassPorter Crafting Challenge (if you join, just let them know you read about it in the newsletter). And some of our most devoted community members started a forum of their own at Pixie Dust Lane and all are invited over.

So we encourage you to stay in touch with us and your fellow community members wherever works best for you!

Best wishes for a wonderful and magical new year!

My head hurts! Good job wading through all the options. On the hoppers, do the water parks use up a day's admission if you don't also go to a theme park that day? Probably too much to hope for, but that would effectively extend your park options. I think I've had this type of pass in the distant past, but can't remember the rules.

I love minitures so I'm looking forward to that part of Legoland more than anything else.

Congrats on the tickets! That great news that you'll be able to get them beforehand and make your FP+ selections in advance.
Legoland does look like it has some smaller rides which is why I figured we should go now. Evan I'm thinking will be too big next trip. My sister took my nephew to the one in Windsor when he was about 10 and said they waited too long and should have gone when he was younger.

If you go into a water park it only uses a "more" option. So a 10 day tickets give you 10 Themepark admissions and 10 "more" options. You only use the themepark option when you enter a thempark.

PTR Part 18 Day 12 plans

Plans for Thursday, August 28th (day 12)

After pretty much a non Disney day yesterday we are back into the mix today. Beginning the day with breakfast in the room and then off to Epcot.

As always, I hope to arrive at park opening and then tour around FW. I’d like to do the other side of Innoventions the one with my son’s favorite “Where’s the Fire” on the Land/Sea side of Future World. I think it is Innoventions West. If everything went well on all our other visits into the park we should have pretty much done everything we already wanted to do in FW other than this half of Innoventions so, in theory, we should have some time before WS opens to go back and do some attractions a second time or anything we missed.

About 11am I want to head back into WS to finish up our World Tour. We will begin in Italy (most likely taking a boat over) and then moving clockwise to visit America, Japan, Morocco and France. We will stop for lunch when hungry. I want to see Voices of Liberty this visit as I missed them last time. This will be new for the boys and perhaps see the American Adventure. In Japan and Morocco I really want to poke around and explore both pavilions a little more and not just rush past. I also want to let the boys do a pick a pearl in Japan. Eric’s mom’s birthday is in November so perhaps he can pick a pearl for her and give her a necklace or something for her birthday. I think they will both think it is fun with the drums beating and the “show” I think it will be cute.

Along the way we will try to see some of the performers, I’d like to see the candy maker in Japan as I’ve never seen her act.

I’d also like to try and see the film in France as it has been ages since I’ve seen it but the mood of the kids will dictate whether we stop or not. Another Agent P adventure may be in store too.
At this point we should have completed all the countries, gotten passport stamps and visited each Kidcot stop . It may have taken 3 visits but I’m hoping with that comes a slower pace and us being able to not hit overload or WS burnout.

Today will be tough as I think we will be in Epcot until about 3:30 or 4 to finish up and then head straight over to MK. So no afternoon break planned. I also need to think about the car vs bus/monorail today.

I want to be into the MK by about 4:45 because I want to see the Flag retreat. I have never seen this and it has been on my list for years. After seeing Cam’s report with her Dad, I really, really want to see this. After the flag retreat it will be straight back to the New Fantasyland for dinner at Be Our Guest.

This is obviously new to all of us and although the idea of having that “magic rose” at lunch to tell the servers where we are sitting I didn’t want to wait in a huge line so I opted for an ADR for dinner. Plus I think the menu selection is a little better for us for dinner. After our very busy day, a nice sit down dinner will help to recharge our batteries.

At least I hope so because tonight is Tommorowland. Now here is the flaw in my theory of concentrating on just one area of the park each day and not criss crossing, it is now day 12 and it is our first visit into Tomorrowland. So while on paper my touring plan looks good I’m not sure in reality it will work. But this is my plan and I’m sticking to it. So Tomorrowland it is and we will pretty much do everything – other than Stich’s Great Escape and hopefully not Astro Orbitor either.

I have been looking online for cute, clean quick jokes that we can text into Monsters Inc. Last trip both boys were lucky enough to have their jokes read. I suppose we could use those again but we are looking for new ones.

Last visit
Evan - Q: Why do sharks swim in salt water? A: because pepper water makes them sneeze.
Eric – Q: How much does it cost a pirate to get his ear pierced? A: a buccaneer.

On another visit these were used
Q: Why was the broom late to school? A: Because he over swept
Q: Why do sea gulls fly over the sea? A: Because if they flew over the bay then they’d be called bagels.
Feel free to steal away if you like any.

However we wanted new jokes. Alright this is what we came up with.
Evan…Q: Why did Mickey Mouse take a trip to outer space? A: He was looking for Pluto
Eric…Q: What weighs 4000 pounds and has glass slippers? A: Cinderelephant

Alright one more. I found this one while I was searching and it just tickled me…
Q: Why do gorillas have large nostrils? A: Because they have large fingers.
Okay maybe I’ve been around 7 year old boys too long but I just couldn’t stop giggling – it just struck my silly spot I guess.

Sorry to go so off point.

Returning to Tomorrowland, we will stay until park closing or until we are just too exhausted to carry on. Hopefully we will get everything done the boys want and perhaps we would have had a chance to pop into this land on one of our other MK days as well.

Back to the hotel for bed – phew I’m tired!!

Cute story:
While talking about our trip I told Evan I have a few surprises in store for him and Eric. I’ve thought nothing more about it. The other day Evan asked are we going to Tomorrowland? I told him of course. He was like HA! I knew it; that is the surprise. He must have been trying to figure things out. I told him you don’t even know about these surprises so you will never guess them.
-curses foiled again or as Evan like to say in his best Old MacDonald voice via the Geico spelling bee commercial …Dang Nabit!!

Firsts:
Evan – Italy, America, Japan, Morocco, France, Flag Retreat, BOG
Me – Flag Retreat, BOG
Mom – Flag Retreat, BOG
Eric – Flag Retreat, BOG

Coming up next day 13

Exactly 4 months from today you all will be living these plans! After my Dad's experience with the Flag Retreat, we stopped for part of this in October. Such a wonderful way to respect our veterans. I think a sit down meal at BOG is a wise choice since you won't be taking an afternoon break. Love the jokes!

Unfortunately, you can cross off the candy maker in Japan. Miyuki is no longer there. Your plans look great and I think it will be adorable for Eric to get his mom a pearl.

I'm glad Wrigley is doing ok and you got your ticket options sorted out. We used TiW last year and saved quite a bit of money. Your MK and Epcot plans sound great. I can't believe it's only 4 months away!
